After walking over the bridge, my husband & I realized we needed to find someplace to eat. We had walked into Cafe Pompidou to use the restroom and were pointed downstairs to the Food Court. We did not want to eat there and, after asking a local for advice, ended up at Ripples - a very expensive place overlooking the water with a very limited menu.
We both really liked the look of Cafe Pompidou, so we headed back that way to give it a try. And we were so glad we did!
We ordered inside and then sat outside, where the waitress brought us our food (on nice, wood cutting boards). I went with the chicken & avocado wrap, which was nice, light & tasty. The salad was lightly dressed, but very flavorful.
My husband got the Chicken Schnitzel, which was a very tasty, warm sandwich.
The food was so satisfying and exactly what we wanted. The portions were a decent size - and we only paid $19 for 2 sandwiches, both with a salad.
Not only is the service great, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. We asked for suggestions on other places in the city to eat and the waitress went back inside, asked her coworkers for their suggestions and wrote them down for us!
It's a bit off the beaten path and the location is nothing spectacular - it's probably frequented by people who work in the area. But we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the birds. read more
