I've probably eaten here at least 2-5 times a week since I got here, and I've never been disappointed. The variety, quality, portions, and prices are honestly unbeatable. Whether you want grilled chicken and rice, wings, burgers, or tacos with pretty much any meat you can think of, there's always something good. Their horchata and aguas frescas are great too. Everything always tastes fresh, and you get a ton of food for what you pay. One of my go-to orders is five tacos with grilled onions and a side of beans or fideo, and somehow it's usually only around $10-$12. It's hard to find anywhere that gives you that much good, fresh food for that price anymore. On top of the food, the service has always been great. After eating here so many times over the past couple months, I just wanted to leave a review and say thank you to everyone who works here for consistently taking care of all of their customers. I'll be leaving San Antonio soon, and Super Pollo Asados is genuinely one of the places I'm going to miss. If I ever come back to the area, this will be one of the first places I stop to eat. It came with sautéed onions, which were yummy. Also there was pico, guacamole, lettuce and corn tortillas. My friend thought the meat was tough and gristly, but I had no issues with it. We both thought it was flavorful. The restaurant decor was festive. There is a small price break if you pay in cash. Everyone was friendly. Chatman's Chicken was off their game during my visit yesterday afternoon. They gave me red beans and rice in place of the sweet potatoes and forgot the riblet. I had to return to the counter to inform they forgot the riblet. I said nothing of the red beans and rice, deciding to try them since I have gotten the sweet potatoes as a side in my two prior visits. The chicken has been better. It wasn't as juicy as before but wasn't as dry as the wood-like riblet. Also, the restaurant charges 75 cents for tea refills. Worse, the order ticket showed $20 for my order, which I paid for by debit card. I paid cash for the one tea refill. However, my bank notification showed they submitted a $20.50 debit. Maybe this was for a surcharge they didn't tell me about beforehand. Based on this experience it appears Chatman's has lost its way.

This spot is about as authentic as it gets: Mexican music blasting from the speakers, a colorful interior with papel picados and Mexican murals lining the walls, and a server that only spoke Spanish. I legit feel like we were in Mexico. We got coke zeros because we are skinny legends, and they served it with a styrofoam cup. Soda just hits different out of styrofoam. I got a half chicken with a side of rice and tortillas that ran $11.44, DIRT cheap. It also comes with a huge bottle of avocado sauce so you don't have to continually ask for more which is HUGE. As always, I must rate the chicken pre sauce, because otherwise we are just rating sauces. The chicken itself was a 7.9/10, but please keep in mind this is a much tougher grading scale than restaurant chicken. My only gripe was that the chicken was a bit dry to be considered truly elite, but an explosion of flavor, avocado green sauce, and vibes made up for it.
