I am not sure why this gets poor reviews. My husband and I were craving fried chicken and found Pollo Campero on doordash. The food was superb! The chicken was hot, fresh, full of flavor! It is not chicken that has been sitting underneath a light waiting to be sold. The beans and rice were delicious. 8 piece with two big sides, and rolls: $33. Sunday dinner made easy. Thank you. read more

Some of the chicken looked a little dark but it turned out to be good. The coleslaw and rolls were great. The beans not so much. Overall it's a little bit expensive for a family pack but it got the job done! read more

So I've been watching the traffic build up going into this restaurant for a few years now. So I decided to check them out! Good freaking god! I know my own people are going to say I sound slightly coonish. But this was some darn good chicken y'all! Now I'm going to give you a tidbit of information before you decide to go happy trailing to get you some bomb ass fried chicken! 1. Both times that I went, nobody really spoke English. And the one person that did did not speak it very well. With that being stated... DO NOT GO IN THERE GIVING THESE PPL HELL BECAUSE YOU DON'T SPEAK SPANISH AND THEY DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH. If I refer you to this place, do not go in there being rude because you can't understand. Even my salad which I told them put the cheese on to the side they didn't. But it's a language barrier. It will not kill you just like the cheese being served on the salad did not kill me. Again do not go in there being rude to these people! I cannot stand when Americans go into establishments in America and lose their God forsaken Minds because somebody doesn't speak English or they can't understand due to a language barrier. Get over it! The chicken is freaking good and that is the reason you're there. Write it down or put it in Google translator! It works everywhere you go! Google translator.com make it happen but do not go in there giving these people hell because of the language barrier! Moving forward. The empanadas are good too. Not as good as the chicken! The grilled chicken is good but the Fried Chicken will make you think Popeyes and Kentucky Fried Chicken are some of the wackiest fried chicken restaurants ever developed. The grilled chicken is pretty good and decent. I haven't tried their fries or the plantains. I do notice everybody's ordering the beans. I will try the beans the next time. They do have chorizo cooked in them. But the chicken is so good that it does give me "They've Cloned Tyrone" type vibes! But please respect these people y'all. I really like this little spot! Oh they have hibiscus juice, mango juice and horchata. read more

Omg!! Their spicy chicken sandwich is top tier! It's above Chick-fil-A. That says a lot! The restaurants employees were super nice and inviting! I want to recommend this place if you like chicken sandwiches. One of the ladies informed me they use real chicken breast. Try it out, I promise you wont be disappointed!! My taste buds thank you Pollo Campero!! read more

Pollo Campero - Latin American Near Me - Nashville, Tennessee

Pollo Campero is an extremely popular chicken chain among Latinx, and everyone should give it a try! When I went to a location in Illinois it was packed and there was a long line. My friend told me this Nashville location seems busy every time she passes by it. On a Saturday night there was a short line at the register. Everyone was ordering in Spanish and employees were speaking Spanish and English both which is cool. I had a two piece combo. I like this place because they have sides like rice, plantains and yuca fries- something different than American chicken restaurants. Because of the high volume of to go orders, my dine in order took about 10 minutes but I think it's reasonable. Their fountain drinks also include horchata and Jamaica! How fun. I tried mango drink. The seasoning of the chicken is so addictive. Chicken is so juicy. It's just better than any other and I understand why it is so popular. Please try their chicken and you won't regret it. read more

Pollo Campero - a plate of fried chicken and rice - Latin American Near Me - Nashville, Tennessee

I have ordered delivery 3 times. The fried chicken is amazing. Crunchy, tasty, just the right amount of hotness! My husband got the Campero salad and licked the bowl!. The plantains are delicious! Love this place! read more

Will be back again! That chicken was amazing. The sides and sandwiches is just ok... but I will restate, that the chicken here is amazing!

This review is for Pollo Campero in Philly off of Frankford Ave & Academy Rd. Service is pretty quick. Fried Chicken was well seasoned, hot & juicy. Yuca Fries are the Bomb so order larger size. Wasn't impressed with Mango Peach drink. Next time I'll stick w/ Hibiscus drink. read more

I definitely give this place a solid A. Imagine El Pollo Loco and Popeye's had a child. That's what this place was like. The food was great. The service was great. The fried chicken is amazing. Great seasoning. read more

We visited the restaurant in Smyrna today. The people were friendly, and the food was good. The flavor of the chicken was very good. We also had coleslaw, plantains, rice, beans, empanada - a little of everything and wasn't disappointed. A big thanks to the lady who made sure we tasted everything. We'll be back. read more

Hidden gem. My family has been passing this spot for a while now and we finally said screw if let's try it. Came right about 6:30-7:00 ish and there was a massive line. Not a terrible wait since the food was good but just something to be aware of. Honestly, they nailed the service in the drive thru. Repeated the order, accurately recorded the order, the whole nine. Stuff like that is easily missed yanno. Food was definitely good and would go again read more

Great food. Fast friendly service. I love the flavor of the chicken. A must come to when in the area.

Food was awesome and the service was great! I got the spicy chicken sandwich with the fried plantains and horchata to drink.

Beautiful ladies inside and out. They were right on top of everything. Before we even noticed, they offered us a few pieces of chicken for the wait and let us snack and chat while we waited in our order. Chicken was well cooked, fries were fresh and hot. Easily the best chicken I've had. Garlic Parmesan recommended. I must also note that the restaurant is very clean and Ozaria is very, very sweet and all the ladies are accommodating and amazing. 10/10. read more

Change of pace with their style of flame broil Chicken. The closes thing to El pollo loco from California.

Chicken was fresh , baked beans was to soupy for me and the rice was plain rice didn't have any of the ingredients listed in it.

We don't have a local Pollo Campero in our state, so when we travel we look for locations. This is our second time in the past two years that we have visited-- we enjoy the flavored chicken and the fried plantains-- not so much the mashed potato, it tasted like instant mashed potato with a spicy gravy to disguise it. If you complete a survey from your receipt, you can get two more pieces of chicken! read more

Visiting and saw this place was super busy! Thought we would give it try. We waited 45 minutes at a Fast Food place for COLD, Dry, and very mediocre food. Fried were greasy and everything was bland. Looks are deceiving! read more

Thank God the chicken was good because the first bite I had was of the coleslaw side (which was flavorless) and the tortillas were very old and dry so I was pretty disappointed at first but the tasty citrusy and juicy chicken made it all worth it. My husband thought the same. The grilled and fried chicken were both very good. read more

Guess my expectations were too high. Thought this was closer to pollo tropical in FL but not even. Long line about 30-45min for drive-thru and you get to the window to find there's no more grilled chicken. How? You all see the line... food was mediocre at best. Excellent customer service Mango drink was weak. Rice was decent but this is like a McDonald's compared to 5 guys... won't be returning. read more

Pretty good chicken but omg I'm scared to go back!! Lol There were 2 people in the drive thru when I went. I have no idea why the girl working there was sooo mean...like it was to the point where I wanted to ask her "Are you okay??" I got to the window and she opens it and only says "TEN SIXTY-FIVE!" and then slams it shut after I give her my money. It opens one more time and she hands me my food still scowling at me and shuts the window. Not one word was spoken. Not a "here ya go" or "have a nice day" or "bye". I'm awkwardly sitting there for a second because I've never been there before and I don't know if what I'm holding is even my entire order or not. Sometimes places give you a second bag etc. I eventually assume what I'm holding is everything and drive away wondering wtf is going on in that place. I got home and my fried chicken was really good. The grilled chicken skin was kinda slimy. Mashed potatoes were good although they could use more than a tablespoon of gravy. Plantains were okay but they were light in color and greasy. They need to be fried at a higher temp so the outside gets crispy and they don't have as much time for the oil to just soak through the whole thing. I would go back for the fried chicken but it was honestly such a terrible experience I'm not sure if it would be worth it. If the people working there are that miserable, how are they treating the food?... read more

can someone explained me why?? mexicans and central americans believes that everyone loves cilantro??? Tons of cilantro, raw jalapeños... and frozen chicken on empanadas... disgusting!!!! please clarify on the menu... a lot of people don't like cilantro !!! read more

This was my first time going and I like the food, but there isn't a lot of variety with the chicken meals and it can be pricey. Their options were a two-piece with one side, a four-piece with two sides, or some sandwiches and a side. When I go to a chicken place, I usually get a two-piece with two sides. Pollo Campero didn't have that option. You could add a side, but you would end up paying more a two-piece than you would for the four-piece. I would recommend going here for decent chicken, but don't expect to be blown away. The average cost of a meal (four piece and sides) with a drink is about $12, so if you are looking for something super cheap, this probably isn't the chicken place for you. read more

The only thing that was good here was the chicken. Both, the fried chicken and the grilled chicken taste great. Good flavors, not dry, and really didn't need any extra seasoning. But man, their side dishes are wack! Everything we had on the side had zero flavors. Even the corn tortilla they served us was hard. If I do come back, I'll just come back for the chicken. read more

It was a bad experience ....waited in line for 30 ic ..food was overly overpriced ..the coleslaw had no flavor..all it was was chopped cabbage ..NEVER AGAIN! read more

First time here. The $6 cholulu hot chicken sandwich combo was really good. I had the corn salad as a side which is like a cowboy caviar, also very good. Staff was friendly. I will be back. read more

Hands down my favorite fast food around. Consistently great grilled chicken, yuca fries, French fries. Also like their sweet plantains. Great place to snag a reasonably priced ($11/4pc meal) high protein meal. read more

Chicken is great, but the service is too slow!!!!! I had to wait more than 20 minutes for a Family Meal

Went on my lunch break. The line was finally not as long. I ordered the fried 3 pc w/ one side. A drink wasn't included so that was extra. I would preferred a 2 pc instead but they didn't have that on the menu for some weird reason. The chicken was really dark not that light brown look and the picture showed a roll but it came with a tortilla bread which was nasty. The meal was too high for what they provide. I spent $10.38 on food that wasn't good at all and they need to change the grease. All in all I won't be eating at this place anymore. read more

Just another fast food chicken place. We were hoping for something like Boston Market, but this is more like KFC. The chicken was fine, not great. The slaw was fine. The plantains were good. Prices are quite high for fast food though, even with a coupon. All in all, not worth going out of your way for. read more

This place was a big disappointment. I ordered the boneless wings. The wings were crunchy, but dry and extremely salty. The host forgot to include the honey mustard I requested. The fries were rather limp and of the usual frozen variety. I will not return to Pollo Campero. read more

Delicious chicken, especially the grilled chicken. More like a flavorful rotisserie chicken. Very juicy and nice and hot when it came to the table. Had to wait a few minutes for the food, but when it comes to the table nice and hot, I don't mind. This is my new favorite chicken place! read more

Have dined at Pollo Campero on several occasions. I'll admit, they don't make it easy for you to know the prices, and can be a bit pricy. However, the fried chicken is absolutely delicious. It is seasoned to perfection and juicy, even the chicken breasts are juicy. I am not a big french fry person, but their fries are delicious. The grilled chicken is good, but I prefer fried. I am accustomed to buying or choosing dark, white or mixed. They do not seem to offer a choice. So if you want all dark or all white, you should request it. read more

This chicken is delicious! Very moist and fresh. We ordered the original fried campero chicken. They are so busy so expect to wait in line. Their service is good but I understand how they can get behind. The sides are pretty good. We ordered the beans, cole slaw and fries. Will definitely come back. read more

Ate here tonight after leaving the airport. I got the 9 piece chicken bites/boneless wings with mashed potatoes and also a side of plantains. I got the Campero sauce and also some ranch. I really liked everything on my plate as well as the sauces. They have horchata that my bf really liked but I didn't try it. I'm rarely in this part of Nashville but I would eat here again. read more

The food is good but they never get the orders right, if you go through the drive thru make sure you check your food, 75% of the time they are missing something, how hard is it to get what you pay for, thieves....I stopped going there for a while, now I remember why, NEVER GOING BACK!! read more

Great fried yucca as well as chicken! Consistently good for the items I want.

The food is good and would be 5 stars for that alone. The service is an absolute nightmare. 45 minute wait at least every time. There are two registers at the counter and only ever one person on them. Sometimes there will be nobody on the register and they won't take a single order for 15-20 minutes with a line out the door. When they finally do take orders it takes 2-4 minutes per order so everything moves incredibly slow. Really awful and totally disrespectful to the customer. They won't even take your order and let you sit down and wait. You just have to stand there in line while they ignore you. The manager one night took a huge catering order, and because of that they were unsure if they had enough chicken for everyone and made everyone in line wait forever while they prepared dozens and dozens of pieces for one order. This is completely unacceptable. You need to refuse large orders for that and serve your individual customers first. You can have a separate catering service if there's demand for it, but you can't make everyone else suffer for it. Can't imagine a scenario where i'll ever come here again. It's a shame. read more

They have empanadas on their online menu. However, that is not an option in the restaurant. Food was mediocre at best. I left 1/2 of my chicken sandwich and only took a few bites of the sides. Fries were just your typical frozen fries. No good sauces. Food came out quickly. This is why I stay away from chains. read more
