    Pescado frito
    Halle C.

What a great little restaurant tucked away on Nolensville Road! When my party of 3 walked in, we were greeted by the smell of fresh cooking and a beaming waitress. Our waitress was so patient and kind, helping explain the menu to my grandmother. The food came out within a timely manner. The barbacoa was perfectly tender and flavorful. My tortillas de maíz were so fresh and hot, I almost burnt my fingertips. My grandmother had no problems about her pescado frito, either. It was plentiful portions, the kind where a to-go box is necessary. The leftovers heated up nicely, too. For drinks we all got agua de jamaica. So tangy and not too sweet. It's my favorite agua fresca so this is something that must be nailed for me! I will be back!

We've been going to this restaurant for years and it's been amazing the whole years. They are super friendly and when you have any questions they will know the answer. This day I got a carne asada torta it was so amazing their meat is such a good quality. Also I had a taco, the meat was juicy. My boyfriend always gets a carne asada huarache it's always good. They have different types of drinks but we stick with horchata it's always good no matter what. It's a small restaurant but they always have music playing in the background. When you walk in their super friendly. You can seat anywhere in the restaurant and when you're ready to pay they'll give you the check and you pay in the back of the restaurant. Will forever recommend this hole in the wall restaurant.

I am originally from the Southern California area so full disclosure I am a tougher reviewer on Mexican food then some. Going into Las America's it feels very authentic. The service was quick and super friendly and they can easily pivot between Spanish and English. I ordered a plate with three enchiladas - cheese, chicken and steak. I liked the cheese one the most mainly because it was a different cheese then I am used to and was unique to me. The other two had flavor but the meat wasn't cooked fresh, I could tell it had been in a holding container for a minute. The beans were possibly canned but the rice was decent. With that said I tried a pork and cheese papulsa on the side and it was beyond excellent. Fresh, good portion size and fairly priced. You could easily get full off two. I give it 4 stars only because the service was solid and the pupulsa was amazing. I plan to go back and try other items with a papulsa on the side :)

Burrito ranchero, chorizo taco, and a pork & cheese pupusa

Easy to miss spot, but make sure you don't! Very friendly and cozy little restaurant and store. So many options to choose from on the menu. Decided to go with the burrito ranchero which was good. The pupusas were wonderful, and the chorizo taco had an awesome smokey and spicy taste.

Very busy combination of local grocery/restaurant was a nice change-up from barbecue, Thai, and sandwich/hamburger restaurants. Good variety of Mexican soft drinks and juices, including my favorite, the popular Horchata. Food is fairly traditional and the variety wide. Burritos, soups, beef and seafood. The Menudo was rich and came with the normal accompaniments. The Sunday specials are listed on a board by the open kitchen. Others are listed on the menu and Caldo de Mariscos (Seafood Soup) was listed and I ordered it. A large bowl was delivered, full of seafood with a few carrots and potatoes thrown in for variety. I added a few pinches of the fresh chopped jalapeno and it tasted just right. I enjoyed the people watching and all of the hustle and bustle. Good to see that good ethnic food is available and accessible.

We ate dinner early dinner here with another couple. We all enjoyed it. We had pupusas, tacos and tortas. The service was excellent and I would have paid more for what we ordered. It is small but we were there late afternoon, so only a few tables occupied. A great meal.

This was my first visit based on yelp reviews. First let me start with my sever, she welcome me and my mother in law with a please attitude and smile. She offered Jamaica drink and suggested I try it. I think her service topped the food. The food was good as well. We ordered tacos for a quick bite. Overall, good food good service. Will be back!! Oh yeah - it is in the cut, but don't let it deter you from enjoying its benefits.

Come here for some good authentic food and great hospitality. The waitress was sweet and helpful when we didn't know what to order. I got the American burrito, a pupusa, and my husband ordered rice, chicken, and cheese (not on menu). The portions are huge so come starving.

My parents are visiting America for the very first time -- literally their first time outside China -- and I wanted to take them somewhere that felt truly local, not a chain restaurant or tourist spot. Get Your Grub On was exactly that kind of place. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming. You can immediately feel that this is real homemade cooking -- not "corporate restaurant food." Watching him work in the kitchen and smelling the food coming out fresh honestly made the whole place feel like a true American Southern "farmhouse/local comfort food" experience. We ordered the fried chicken, catfish trio, and chicken pasta. The fried chicken was AMAZING: * perfectly crispy outside * juicy inside * smelled incredible the moment it came out But the real surprise was the catfish. It was unbelievably tender -- literally melt-in-your-mouth soft while still fresh and flavorful. Easily some of the best catfish I've ever had. Portion sizes were HUGE too. Three people ate for around $70 and we were completely full. Yes, the seasoning is definitely Southern-style and a bit salty for some Asian tastes, but even my parents -- who are completely Chinese and very familiar with authentic Chinese cuisine -- still genuinely enjoyed the food and kept talking about how good and unique the experience was. That says a lot. This place feels like the kind of hidden local restaurant that makes traveling meaningful. Not fancy. Not trendy. Just real people making real food with heart. Highly recommended if you want authentic local Southern comfort food and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.

For the Kra Prao Moo Kai Doo, the Minced pork was very moist with plenty of flavor. There was a ton of rice served with it lol. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

We were placed in the lower-level dining area, which we didn't mind at all--it had a great atmosphere with a live band performing until 10 PM. Our server (I apologize for forgetting her name) was excellent--friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. For food, we ordered the seafood tower (The Big Eddie), crab fried rice, and Chilean sea bass. Everything was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. For drinks, we had the Hope Diamond and a tequila soda. The Hope Diamond was especially good, and our server even shared the ingredients so we could recreate it at home. As their name implies, their seafood is fantastic, probably the best in the entire city! They have a policy that every seafood served at Eddie V's was alive in the ocean less than 36 hours prior! Anything left over is donated, which is impressive! And you can taste its incredible freshness throughout the meal! There are only 30 locations of Eddie V's in 15 states, but the quality is hardly reminiscent of chain restaurant food. It's truly exquisite! And we have very high standard having dined at Michelin-starred eateries all over the world. The scallops, lobster, and lobster bisque are easily the best in Nashville, and we've dined at every high-class restaurant Music City has to offer! The butter poached lobster mashed potatoes are incredible, extra creamy topped with buttery lobster and a beurre blanc sauce. The truffle mac is equally stupendous, with a three-cheese blend, truffle oil, and thinly shaved truffles imported from France! While most upscale restaurants tend to make a very strong truffle mac that has overpowering flavors, the chef at Eddie V's manages to make this, and all dishes, subtle and flavorful without overdoing it. Just as amazing as the seafood are the steaks. Since they had a Japanese A5 Wagyu in the building at $40 an ounce, something they don't have every night, I took advantage of that! As expected, the highest grade of Japanese beef did not disappoint, and the chef prepared it to perfection. That impossibly tender steak seasoned beautifully just meted in my mouth, probably the second best steak I've eaten in Nashville! The ponzu sauce, one of three that accompanied the steak, was delicious. The Korean inspired gochujang was also good, but maybe not perfect for this style of steak. But the wasabi paste was the winner, a perfect compliment to the beef without being very spicy, just wonderfully flavorful. Like all dishes here, they've impeccably balanced flavor with subtly! The desserts aren't bad either, but they pale in comparison to the beef, seafood, and side dishes!

I took my dad here for a late Father's Day/Birthday celebration. He's been wanting to go here for a while but since his girlfriend doesn't like seafood boils, he has no one to go with him. I've never done a seafood boil so this was a new experience for me. We were greeted immediately and sat at a clean table. Our waitress was awesome, she was attentive and quick. My dad had Combo G extra hot (1/2 pound snow crab legs, 1/2 pound shrimp, and 1/2 pound sausage with potato and corn), I had Combo I medium spice (1 pound shrimp, 1/2 pound sausage, potato, and corn) and a side of coleslaw, and my husband had spicy onion rings, crab cakes, and corn made hot with Old Bay seasoning. My dad requested butter and they gave him a whole bowl of their deliciousness! Our food came out quickly and we were given bibs, gloves, and a trash can. Our waitress refilled my husband's and dad's drinks twice without them asking (I was slow to drink mine). The food here is SO good!!! I regretted not making mine hot with old bay seasoning because truth be told, if you can handle spicy food, even the extra hot isn't that spicy. However, everything was perfect and I had a lot of fun getting a little messy. Their coleslaw was phenomenal. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was my husband's crab cakes but he really enjoyed them. We didn't have to wait for a check or for to-go boxes. Our waitress was on top of it throughout our entire meal. We will definitely be back!!
