3 piece meal $12.30
Paul S.

Now that I've eaten here a couple of times, and my father was pleased with his chicken sandwich, I'm prepared to weigh in. The restaurant is tucked back in the new shopping center in Jurupa Valley, just past In-n-Out when entering from Pyrite. A large parking lot should accommodate any vehicle, and there's also a drive-thru option. The interior is clean and spacious with booths and tables of various sizes, so that's good for big families. Ordering is also quick and easy. I've only tried their fried chicken, but after a 3-piece and sides, and a 2-piece with the revamped rice (other sides tried were macncheese and potato salad), I am a fan. Dad's sandwich was pretty big, especially the chicken itself. He said he'd come back again, which is basically an endorsement from him. I concur, the place is solid. Service is friendly, professional, and pretty fast on both occasions. I'm interested in their grilled chicken option, and trying more on the menu in general.

I've been to Pollo Campero before and usually enjoy their empanadas they're actually really good when they're fresh, but lately they've been hit or miss. Sometimes they come out burnt, which is disappointing. Today I came with my mom and went through the drive-thru (I haven't dined inside yet). We ordered the 4 -piece meal with a side of yuca fries and rice. The chicken was tasty overall, but definitely on the salty side borderline too much. The rice was unfortunately bland with no seasoning or flavor. The biggest letdown was the yuca fries. They were hard to eat literally. Either they were overcooked or had been sitting out too long, but they were super tough and dry. To top it off, we didn't get any napkins or utensils in our bag. We were eating in the car, so I actually had to make a spoon out of the fry container just to eat the rice. Not exactly what I had in mind . There wasn't much of a greeting or friendliness at the drive-thru either not rude, but definitely not warm. I live nearby and really want to like this place. But between the inconsistent food and the lack of care in service, it's just hard to keep coming back.

My wife and MIL stumbled upon this place this week while out shopping in Riverside. We could smell the food from a few stores down and had to try it out. I got the bowl and had to order a side of sweet Plantains too. Everything was so GOOD. The chicken was juicy. My daughter got a side of Mac n Cheese with her meal and loved it. My wife and MIL both enjoyed their 2 piece combo as well. Our food came out quickly and staff checked in on us throughout our visit. In addition we filled out a survey and got two pieces of chicken FREE for each survey filled out. So that will be lunch tomorrow. LOL. We definitely will be back!!

Tried this chicken for the first time a few weeks ago at a party and really enjoyed it. When I saw this location up and running had to stop by and see if the quality was just as good. Walking in on a weekend the place was packed! No indoor seating was available. There's also umbrella patio seating but it was a bit too hot outside. Friendly welcome and great service. Management was present and in the trenches alongside this hard working team. The staff had a lot going on and all were working together to man this ship! Ordered to go and was pleased to find the chicken was just as juicy with a crispy exterior. Yucca fries are not common so happy to see it as a side option. Had to get some Mac & Cheese in the mix and try some empanadas. The empanadas reminded me of a flauta or chimichanga. Melty cheese, chicken, corn with a nice seasoning. Could definitely use some salsa or spice of your choosing. Overall great first visit! New places need some grace. They're getting a hold of the reins, finding their footing, learning from mistakes and getting into their groove. It's understandable for more than a few hiccups upon start up. I hope they can move forward with gusto!

The food was good the service was fast no wait I come and eat here all the time with the family they love the empanadas

Chicken breast with metal piece.

Came in for a quick meal, and while eating my chicken breast I found a piece of metal inside. I almost swallowed it. This is extremely dangerous. Please take better care when preparing and checking food before serving it to customers.

Our waitress completely ignored us for the duration of our meal. Not once did she check on our table, ask if we needed anything, offer refills, or make any effort whatsoever to provide even the most basic level of service. What made it even more insulting was watching her repeatedly check on every other table around us while walking past us over and over again. We were seated right by the entrance, so there is no chance she somehow forgot we were there. After finishing our meal, we sat waiting for an unreasonable amount of time while continuing to be ignored. Eventually, we had to get up and ask for our check ourselves because apparently that was too much to expect. At that point, it was obvious that nobody working there cared whether we had a good experience or not. I've worked in customer service and understand that places get busy, but this wasn't a matter of being busy, it was a matter of not caring. We were treated as if we didn't exist. If this is the standard of service this restaurant accepts, there are plenty of other places that deserve your money far more than this one. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting even the bare minimum level of customer service. Tacos were good, ill give them that.

The dining area is a very clean and comfortable. Once seated, an aji verde salsa and cancha was brought to the table. The cancha is a nice touch, the corn is crispy and light. I ordered the Pollo Saltado with an extra portion of rice and a Chicha Morada. The beverage was very refreshing. The meal came out quickly. The chicken was tender and well seasoned with soy without being too salty. There was a fair amount of onions and tomatoes which were stir-fried along with the meat. The fries were freshly made with a light crispy exterior and creamy interior to soak up the saltado sauce. The aji verde salsa was on the spicy side but tasted good as an accompaniment to the dish. There was plenty of sauce from the stir fry for the extra portion of rice I ordered. I plan on ordering the Lomo Saltado next time. The staff were polite and efficient. Plenty of parking in their lot. Definitely on the list for the next time I am in the area.

Better than any other place I have tried this dish at. Perfect blend of each ingredient. The sweet then spicy chiles that come on the side compliment this meal. Add the green sauce they serve and you have a fire worth fighting. I definitely recommend this dish if you stop by here. Tallarin verde con lomo- the lomo was delicious but the pasta was a little too harsh on the pesto. Still good though. Menu is limited but if you're into lomo you should give this place a try. Food trucks have been around for quite some time, but finding a cluster of them in a single…read morelocation in Riverside is rather new to me. On a sparsely traveled side street that separates the Target parking lot from the 91 freeway, is an attraction that will have you slamming on your brakes and craning your neck to see what the fuss is all about. The day we came, a Sunday afternoon, there were about 10 different, brightly colored trucks lined up along the curb, lights flashing, music blaring, and lines starting to form. You can park your car in the adjacent parking lot, there's plenty of room! Yes, this a very successful food truck according to Yelp. And by far the most patronized truck I saw that day. Inside the tiny galley kitchen are 4 hustling adults, including sweet Isabelle, the food ambassador of a husband and wife duo. I loved her enthusiasm and bright smile. At this point, I want to mention that Columbian taste buds are more finicky than many of their Central and South American brothers. So do not expect hot chile anything. Their palates prefer milder, not spicy foods, even though one of the sauces served with the empanadas was a garlicky, bright, herbal, oily sauce, not unlike the Argentinian chimichurri sauce. They call it aji (ah hē). I find it very addictive. Bandera Paisa - this is a combo plate that features a fat, Columbian chorizo (a non spicy sausage), a pile of moist shredded beef, a large strip of pork belly, white rice, Columbian red beans, a fried egg, avocado, and several pieces of fried sweet plantain. There is also one Cheese Arepa included. This dish can easily be shared by two and is a phenomenal deal and interesting taste adventure. Beef Arepa. This is basically a fried masa pocket substantially filled with their signature shredded beef, then topped with guacamole and white cheese. This is very similar to their beef empanadas, so I would encourage ordering one or the other, not both. It's big. Beef Empanadas (3). This is not your usual empanada. The generous beef filling is made from their sensational slow-cooked, flavorful shredded beef with a hint of corn and vegetables. The pastry is actually made of a coarse grained masa, formed into the traditional moon-shape, then deep-fried. It is heavier and far more filling than what I am accustomed to, but it has a chewy, coarse textured mouth appeal and rich flavor. One order is 3 empanadas. They offer an interesting variety of drinks, the most notable being their iced Columbian coffee (intensely rich, creamy, and sweetened) and a Passion Fruit Slushy that is an exotic fruity perfection. Both are pre-made and served out of a dispenser. Columbiana soda, plus other sodas and juices, are available in bottles and cans. The only downside is the seating. A few wooden tv trays and canvas folding chairs are set up on the uneven dirt adjacent to the sidewalk. It appears that using the sidewalk is off limits for seating. I loved their cute, vibrant Cuban music, but oftentimes it became overwhelming as it competed with another truck's equally loud Mexican music right next to them. That, and the seating, effectively convinced me that eating my food elsewhere was probably a better idea, even though sweet Isabelle was frequently checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Our bill was really reasonable, considering the amount of food we had. It was approx. $42, and there was plenty to bring home for another day.
