I have since returned many times and I feel like an updated review is important because this is one of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten at across the globe for authentic Mexican cuisine, especially Mariscos. The atmosphere is local, authentic, quaint, and welcoming. Abuela can be seen in the kitchen hand making the tortillas so you know it's gonna be an amazing experience. The seafood is fresh and the food comes with a platter of sauces and pico de gallo and hot peppers that complement whatever dish you may order. The prices are fair and quite inexpensive when compared to prices back in the United States. There is a view during the day and at night, festive lights, set the tone for a magical evening. In short, having traveled across this wonderful globe and eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants, as well as local places like this, I can confidently say this is in the top 10 list of my favorite spots to enjoy a meal!

I adored everything we ate there - fun salad flavors and I'm always a fan of all things seafood... only stayed here for a few days and ate here twice!

The restaurant is essentially a large open air patio (that's covered) with a view of the river. A small lunch menu, but a nice selection that should satisfy. Best part is the food was quite tasty and made with fresh ingredients, I enjoyed the chicken enchiladas and they were perfectly seasoned with a great enchilada sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Prices here are fair and the enchilada portion plate was more than enough for one grown man. There's a large bar and people were sipping margaritas and cocktails. I enjoyed the Micheladas. I'm not an ice cream eater; however, if you are, you absolutely must come here because the other patrons were enjoying several kinds of ice cream that looked quite delicious and unusual. And you could peruse the freezer and choose the type of flavor that you wanted. I would absolutely come back. It is not in the Pueblo so that if you are walking up the river either on your way or on your way back do yourself a favor and stop here!! Keep in mind you have to cross over the suspension bridge to get there.

The shin is crispy and flavorful and the meat inside juicy. It's delight to sit in his riverside restaurant and enjoy the view of children playing, birds, donkeys, horses and life in the up river community.

Right when the food came out it was annoying how many flies there were flying around us. Would've been nice if they had those table fans to help keep the bugs away. After we ate they let us lounge on their chairs and we enjoyed our time on the beach. Definitely worth a try!

You are told that beach hangout is "included"(food and drinks not included) in with your water taxi fare. Each of the various spots have a handler on the beach enticing you to visit their beach bar/restaurant that includes restrooms. You're kind of trapped on the beach in a way. There is no signage directing you to the town of Yelapa and when you ask one of the handlers they try to sell you an "excursion". Needless to say the situation is a little frustrating. We ordered Margaritas and nachos. The drinks were really good but the nachos really weren't. Basically, just melted Monterey Jack cheese on chips topped with tough tiny bits of beef served with Pico de Gallo on the side. The service we received was great. We read several Yelp reviews about added charges. We didn't experience that but be prepared just in case. Take a picture of the menu and use it when the time comes to reconcile your check. Also, bring pesos. DO NOT use a debit or credit card. All of the beach from joints take them but you run the risk fraud. There are two ways to get to Yelapa. You can take the bus from PV to Boca for eight pesos per person (one way) then take a water taxi to Yelapa for about 180 pesos round trip per person. Or you can take the water taxi from Los Muertos Beach pier in PV for 500($30 U.S.) round trip. I recommend taking the water taxi from PV and save yourself the hassle of getting to and riding the bus. The journey to Yelapa is about 45 minutes.
