It was such an amazing experience, i can't remember her name but the employee that was working yesterday provided helpful information and even though she was busy she was quick to help us! They had a variety of really cool pieces at good prices too as you get all the glazes and kiln costs included in the cost of 1 piece! I had the best time with a friend and her mom painting on an early summer Saturday morning. It was my first time painting pottery but they make it easy to work on here. Bright and cheery with a large selection of pottery items to choose from. They provide the paint, brushes, and large tables to work on your creations. They even have painted examples of work to help get ideas. There are signs that help selecting various paint types: solids, glitter, speckled, etc. They have gift cards and you can schedule a party as well. It's something unique to do on your own or with friends and family. I chose to complete Christmas ornaments and they didn't turn out half bad. I can't wait to go back! read more

I have been addicted to painting pottery now for almost a month. The Polka Dot Pottery on Pines, Amanda, is amazing and nice and so helpful. She is always there to answer questions, hand me pottery from when I did the last time and works like a busy bee. She is super knowledgeable with suggestions and so supportive. I absolutely love going there. It is a wonderful experience and therapeutic and simply FUN. To be honest, we need more Amandas on this earth, she is such a sweet lady, very informative and works like no another. Polka Dot Pottery is lucky to gave her. Another lady covered for her one weekend, Shelly, and she is just as nice. I don't know where they are finding great quality workers but it sure makes the experience, WONDERFUL. I am so glad I stumbled onto this activity and place. I just learned they make plates for Sacred Heart for mothers that lost their baby. What a wonderful idea. They tried to charge me extra when they had computer issues. Their paper receipt showed that they had collected cash and a gift card from me. But when I went to pick up our items I was told they could not find that I had paid and would not give me my items. They wanted me to pay again! They fired the items, why would they fire them without payment? I had to argue with the girl at the store before she would call her manager. NEVER AGAIN ARE WE GOING THERE. Prices were ridiculous to start with and then asking me to pay again for their computer issues. read more

We love Polka Dot! We've been to the downtown location (also great, but you have to pay for parking at the north town mall) and the Spokane Valley location. Both experiences were awesome! Polka dot wasn't too packed either time we've been, the music they had playing was the perfect playlist to bop to while you work on your ceramic piece. The employees have always been helpful when we've asked for advice and it's always been a fun experience. I will suggest pottery painting to anyone and everyone. This place is awesome! My husband and I came here for a date and had a blast! They have so many choices for things to paint, as well as different techniques to choose from! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they work to help you make your work of art special! It's very family friendly, and I can't wait to bring our kids here! One issue: we have 5 kids. 5 kids + 2 adults at around $20 each is a small fortune to us! Lower prices would mean more people could create their art more often. There's a octopus mug I have my eye on, but it's, like, $22! Yeah, it's sweet, but if I saw that at a local gift store, I would not pay $22 for it. That being said, we WILL go again, and you should, too! It makes for a super fun day or evening! read more

I had called them with questions before buying tickets and the date they gave me for a princess event was what I wrote down. I showed up on the date driven to me, so I call and am met with the dumbest customer service person in my lifetime. All that moron can say is, you have the wrong date, I took time off work for this, they don't even call me back or offer a refund, horrible place horrible staff horrible owner. I'd been wanting to go here forever but just never got around to it, and finally went with work a week ago. I'm not very artistic but I looked up some ideas ahead of time and had a plan going in. We went on one of their event nights where you can bring your own food and drink. We brought pizza and beer, and the 5 of us had a great time. I came home very excited and impatiently waited a week to see my mug. When I got it back today I was so disappointed I almost threw it away. It's incredibly splotchy and looks like a 5 year old did it. They tell you to apply a lot of layers of paint, which I did. The problem comes from their insufficient lighting. I joked whole painting that I should run home and grab my headlamp so I could actually see what I was doing. Now, I wish I had. The first time I saw my piece under adequate lighting was when I turned it in, and saw one obvious missed spot (which I covered) but didn't have time to check the whole thing over. I really loved the experience and had a lot of fun. I even plan to go back. Next time, I'll be bringing my headlamp. Some spots in the shop are better than others, but the lighting isn't consistent. A place like this needs powerful, even lighting and what they have just doesn't cut it. read more

Overall, I was really not impressed with Polka Dot Pottery. I first attempted to go there a few months ago. I walked inside and there was no on there to greet me or anything. I have been to pottery painting places before so I went over to look at the pieces expecting that someone would come out. Still nothing! So I left... I went to my favorite place to paint in town but they were closed. I wanted my son to paint a Father's Day gift. So I reluctantly went to Polka Dot Pottery and went in with an open mind. There was someone working but she wasn't overly friendly or helpful. I helped him pick something to paint and he got to work. I was surprised that there wasn't more stencils or tools to really help get creative. The girl who was working, was on her phone most of the time and didn't notice several people walk in and out. When we went to pick up our piece, it was no where to be found. After looking and checking their book several times, the girl just kind of stared blankly at me. Luckily I noticed a few pieces that weren't wrapped up and ours happened to be in there. I have been to many many pottery painting studios all over the place and this was probably the worst I have experience. It is very nice, shiny and new looking but that is pretty much all it has to offer. I will not be going back again. read more

I can't speak for any locations other than the Polka Dot Pottery on Pines. But this week I took 8 grandchildren in to make Mother's Day items for upcoming Mom's Day. First I asked PDP to have 8 $14 mugs on hand--(believe it or not, those are the cheapest they have! yikes) so I didn't have kids fighting over which to choose. (I called several days early.) They said they only had 5. "Well, maybe we could get a couple more." No, I said, I need THREE more, not "a couple". Several times they said "a couple more'...like this was a big deal to go get more product. Each time I said, I need 8 total. THIS should not have been so hard. Then, when I arrived, there was a 3 minute explanation by the employee (to kids from 5 to 13) about putting lots of coats on, blurs-of-words like puffy-paint and glitter but no instructions and she disappeared. Yes, the table was all set up. But did she even once come out to answer questions? Point the kids to the products they could choose from? Clean the brush-water? Check each child's work just to make sure when they were fired, they wouldn't be a disappointment? Or, hey, even help me just a tiny bit?????? Sheeeez. EACH time I had to go back into her office to ask questions and she was on her computer. THE ENTIRE TIME. I dropped nearly $200 there. I would expect a far-more kid-user-friendly environment and concept for that price. THIS was NOT what I was expecting at all. Very disappointed. read more

Super friendly staff. It is a very welcoming atmosphere and great for groups if needed. I have never felt rushed and have always enjoyed my time there. Fun for an outing with the girls, a date night, or even childrens birthday parties. Great place! read more
