I was a long-term customer of Sugar Pop nails. Really wanted to love them. Don't. They run too…read morehot and cold. Meaning, sometimes good. But, you can also expect bad to show up too often. Good--salon is clean, staff speaks English so don't experience language barriers, many of the nail techs are have very good technique. Some techs' nail art is remarkable. Neutral - Their nail color selection is narrow. You may not consistently find a color you are looking for. This may be related to the owner has her own polish business, too, and that line may be limited. Also, the salon environment is unpredictable--sometimes, calm and spa-like. Sometimes, filled with drama. So if you show up expecting a relaxing pedicure, you may have to listen to loud conversations about subjects not appropriate for public settings. Bad - Your regular tech will quit without notice, you'll be reassigned to someone else without being told (as if the long-term relationship doesn't matter), your appointments will be cancelled (don't appear to have a staffing model that can absorb someone calling out sick), yet they have a strict customer cancellation/no show policy and state customers will be charged if something unforeseen comes up in your life. I understand there's a manager, but have never seen or met this person. The owner isn't effective in addressing legitimate customer feedback or concerns. She deflects Sugar Pops' operational deficiencies onto customers. Notice her comments in response to negative customer reviews. Doesn't take responsibility. I'd expect she'll have something crummy to say about my review, too. Maybe she treats employees this way and hence, the staff turnover issue. So if you're an out of-towner or looking for a one-time appointment, you may show up on a good day. But if you're seeking a longer-term relationship with a nail tech and a consistent experience, this is probably not the place for you.

My nail artist, Allyssa, is very good at her job. She not only listens to what I ask for, but she gets the shape and the length perfect. I've only had one design by her so far, but I'm looking forward to having her work on some other nail designs for me. I also had the pedicure. The pedicure is a water free pedicure, which at first worried me because my feet are pretty dry. But the outcome was very good! On top of that he filed my nails completely down when I asked him to just soak the acrylic off because I was about to walk out with ugly nails plus an infection. The acrylic was stuck to my skin on the side of my nails ugh horrible experience. Didn't even let him cut my nails because he kept hurting me.
