Hands down the best nail place in Portland. I moved to Bend last year and STILL continue to come here to get my nails done by Livia! She is INCREDIBLE. Her salon is always immaculate - they use the highest level of cleaning and sanitation, the checkout process is quick and easy- you can book online...I can go on and on about how much I love it here. It is NOT easy to operate a personal service business during a pandemic- there are supply chain issues, staffing issues, state mandates, and Polish makes it look like a breeze. I respect Livia so much for all of the continuous hard work she puts in to make her salon so beautiful and the services so top notch. Also- no one gives a better manicure than Livia. I've reviewed Polish before, but am coming back to say what fun I had getting a Disney-inspired manicure fora recent vacation to Walt Disney World. Zoe had been planning my look for me for months, and when the day came she did not disappoint! She made me the cutest Mickey-Minnie theme, and Minnie Mouse's tiny bow even had the tiniest polka dots on her pink bow. I had such a fun time getting the manicure, with Zoe building my excitement for my trip. And throughout the trip, it was so fun to get comments from people who liked the design. To top it off, the quality is 100%. When Zoe does my nails, not a speck of polish comes off or chips until she takes it off. I've never been to a salon before where that was the case. I don't understand all the great reviews for this place. Their website says they provide an "elevated" experience but if you consider cheap chandeliers and serving prosecco as elevated then clearly my standard is different. I just moved here and decided to pamper myself with a nice mani and pedi because packing, moving, unpacking has really wrecked my nails and cuticles. Paid over $100 before 18% tip and it was a total ripoff. While my nail technician was super patient, nice, and did a great job with the polish, she did not trim the corners of my toe nails or do any scrubbing of the bottoms of my feet. I even asked her to trim the corners and told her no callus remover gel but regular scrubbing is fine. She just rubbed the tops of my feet with sugar scrub, that's it. No pumice stone or whatever else tools are normally used to scrub and buff the rough skin on the bottoms of feet. All the nail technicians looked like college students and were wearing sweatshirt, sweatpants, or t-shirt's. That is not an "elevated" experience for over $100!! Also, I watched a nail techician clean the pedicure basin and all they did was spray each with cleaning product and use the same brush and towel to clean each basin! That is not sanitary! read more

I visited Polish Day Spa for the first time on 1/6/2024 and had an exceptional experience working with Hannah! I'm usually not one to frequent salons to get manicures, but I was gifted the opportunity to go out to a salon and pamper myself. I found Polish Day Spa through Yelp which was located conveniently near me and saw that they offered soft gel overlay which was exactly what I was looking for because I'm allergic to acrylic and I wanted to strengthen my natural nail. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the staff and prompted to check in on the iPad at the door. Once I was checked in, Hannah greeted me and offered me a beverage, which I gladly accepted a lime bubly. Hannah then led me to her station where she began to meticulously shape my nails to my desired shape and all the other nail prep work including pushing back and prepping my cuticles. She brought me a rack of nail colors to choose from where I then showed her my inspiration picture. Hannah seemed excited by what I was looking to get and patiently waited and helped me to choose the colors to achieve what I was hoping to get. To make a long story short, Hannah carefully and flawlessly executed the nail design inspiration I brought in and was lovely to chat with the entire time! I would not come back here again - overpriced for a subpar mani/pedi. Til this day I am SHOCKED at how my friend and I both paid $90 for a basic gel mani/pedi. I wouldn't have minded I guess had they done an excellent job.. but even my absolute favorite nail salon in the Bay Area doesn't charge as much as this and does a hell of a lot better job. I did tell her not only about the woman and her loud complaining for the time I was there but I also told her about the chair being broken . I booked an appointment for a manicure and pedicure with shellac polish. My pedicure was very relaxing and the massage chair was great. The area was clean and the lady who did it was very nice. She was far too light on the pressure of buffing, scrubbing, and massaging of my feet though. Although the leg and foot massage she gave was very good. Both my big toe nails had chipped paint the next day, which was disappointing as well. I had a different lady for my manicure and her station was NOT CLEAN. Also, she used her own long finger nails to remove excess paint from under my nails after each coat on each of my nails. It hurt a bit and seemed disgusting she was using her own nail instead of a tool. I have always had manicurists use a tool to clean excess polish around my nails during a manicure. This really ruined the experience for me. I would not recommend this place. read more

Let me start off by saying that Polish Day Spa is clean, and every time I've gotten a service done here it has been top notch. My issue comes with the flexibility of their policies and the owner, Livia's lack of professionalism. 17 hours before my appointment, I suffered two sprained ankles and a severe head injury. I called Livia to cancel my next day appointment before I even went to the emergency room out of respect for her policies and time. I was met with an aggressive "ok well you will need to pay 50% of your services." I tried to reason with her, explaining that while I completely Understood her cancellation policy was 24 hours- this was an emergency. She was firm in her response to charge me 50%. I admittedly lost my cool (I had just fainted on a sidewalk, had two bum ankles, couldn't even walk into a salon if I wanted to) and she told me I could send her a doctors note. Unbelievable. I did send in a photo of myself in the emergency room which was the last thing I wanted to be doing. She cancelled my appointment and refunded me. I later called back to apologize for yelling at her, she said "thank you for apologizing" and I said I'd call to reschedule later. After literally MONTHS of recovery time, I was ready to book an appointment- only to find out that my number has been blocked, my ability to schedule online is blocked and Livia has not responded to my email regarding scheduling. I am honestly appalled at the extreme lack of empathy and professionalism that Livia has displayed. Only go here if you can GUARANTEE that there will never be an emergency situation in your life and if you want to deal with this kind of behavior. Do better, Livia. Edit: Livia, I don't know how you lay down your head at night to sleep when you blatantly lie. I have always been early to my appointments, tip graciously and have never had any incident with any of your nail techs. I also never spoke to ANYONE other than you at 7:33 pm the evening before my appointment. You answered the phone, we spoke- that was it. I also only spoke to you when I called to apologize- which was sincere and genuine. You even said "thank you for calling and apologizing." I have seen you mistreat other clients and that should have been my "red flag" that I could one day also be on the receiving end of that type of behavior. The service you provide is superior to any other salon and so I guess I just tried to look past it. My mistake. I have included an image of the email I sent to you- a SECONDARY apology- so cut the lies. I am a sincere, kind and timely individual. The fact that you have to lie to save face is really, really sad. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. The nail techs are fantastic but it's not worth it to have a terrible owner.
