A little pushy on the services but overall loved my pedicure in April 2025. They work fast and are very nice to chat with. They were able to take me as a walk-in without an appointment and I had no wait time. It was just after opening so that may be the golden time to walk in! I had a relaxing time and loved that this is located right above a coffee shop. I would return here if I was in the area - it is a nice spot to grab a nail service while running errands. what an amazing experience! trying out a new salon is always intimidating. not this one. they just moved to a new location down South on 23rd Ave. a few blocks away but i recommend driving and parking. they have their other store marked as 'open' to still get calls for a bit until they get more settled into their new place. great prices, great plant/bright vibes. Nia did amazing! i was in and out in 45 mins-hour. they use gel instead of powder dip which i thought was cool, it hurts and stings at first under the light but if you pull your hand in and out and tap your fingers on the table it helps! you get used to it too. my nails feel alot stronger and lighter with the gel instead of powder too. will be going back to these amazing ladies! read more

My friend took me here over the weekend to try pedicures. We both had a great experience! The two sweet people working in this salon were professional and followed all appropriate COVID guidelines. There are plastic barriers in the foot baths, the pedicure scrubs and lotions are all individually packed, and the salon is just generally clean. She also keeps many cute plants and there's a good amount of natural light--it's a nice place to sit for an hour. We on a whim decided to get pedicures and manicures they were a group of four of us and two of the nail technicians were standing outside as they watched us approach the door they politely asked us would we like to have service and we happily agreed that they were so kind and gracious the place was spotless clean and on a whim they completely gave our two children the most beautiful manicures, gave two Moms amazing pedicures and manicures get this in one hour it was incredible the customer service was incredible and they did a really wonderful job highly recommend. I have tried several nail salons and hands down they do the best job! After a couple weeks it seems the gel manicures from other salons start lifting around the edges. That has never happened to me here. You need to schedule an appointment but when you arrive they are typically ready for you and if you do wait it is only for a couple minutes. This was my second visit Midas and this time I saw Nomi for a Sports Man-i-cure. As a guy at a nail salon I did not feel too comfortable the first time I went there three weeks ago. So, this time I convinced my wife and our dog Madiba to accompany me as a moral support. My cuticles have been tearing up and really killing me and causing some undo pain that this manicure process seems to cure. Nomi was sweet and very accommodating to alleviate my discomfort and reassured me many men do come to Midas for manicure and even Peducure and I should try a combo next time. Not the best atmosphere for a manicure/pedicure. The place is super small and feels extremely cramped even with just the worker. However, they have the biggest shellac color selection I have ever seen. And I am Vietnamese, so nail salons are pretty much in my DNA. I got the BEST MANICURE EVER here! Normally when I get manicure, the paint starts to chip after a couple days. Here it lasted a full 5 days before it started MNIMALLY chipping - I was ecstatic! But let's get down to the important stuff: the massages. The girl who helped me gave me a foot rub that just went on and on and on and I couldn't have been in more bliss! Then on the manicure she really spent a lot of time massaging my hands and even went up my arms and rubbed my shoulders - chyeah! Plus they really did a great, careful job on my toes and nails and did some great artistic designs on my toes and fingers - 2 for $5 for a beautiful design. I don't know what all these hater reviews are talking about with the place being hot - I went on an 85 degree day and was cool as a cucumber! $25 gets you a pedi and $15 gets you the added mani - great deal especially for the location! I diiiid feel a little put upon to upgrade to this and that to which is kind of annoying, but no big deal and the girl did keep asking if I needed a magazine and I kept saying no and she finally just got up and handed me one. Ask for Holly and you'll get a 5+ star manicure! I am a snob about neat, precise, full-coverage shellac manicures. At first I was sat down with a technician who seemed a bit less experienced--she did my filing, cuticles, arm/shoulder massage, etc. She used a kit (buffing block, cuticle clippers, under-nail cleaner) that was NOT sanitized and had clearly been used already. She kept pausing to text on her phone, and she did not understand "rounded square" no matter how many ways I tried to explain. The manicurist adjacent to us was doing a beautiful job on her client's shellac; I was ready to ask if she could please do my paint, as I was wary of my technician's precision and general ability. GUESS WHAT She was ushered out by my coveted manicurist, and she basically re-did everything the previous girl had done--filing/buffing, cuticle touch-up, etc--with NEW TOOLS and proceeded to give me the most beautiful and precise shellac I've ever had. She stayed well after closing and asked if I would like another coat for better opacity... She was even surgeon-like in her focus on my top coat. I had asked for a flower and her nail art was BEAUTIFUL and fast. What a pro! If Holly (the perfectionist) was doing my manicure from the beginning, this would be a five star review. STAY AWAY! THIS NAIL SALON GAVE ME A BACTERIAL INFECTION! I got a manicure and pedicure (no polish, just asked for cuticles to be cleaned up) last Friday. One lady worked on my toes and another on my hands. I had already cut my fingernails and toenails and asked that they not be cut. Instead of listening, the lady working on my toes chose to cut the sides of my toenails at a slant. My dermatologist has told me not to allow this as it causes ingrown toenails. The bigger issue is that the lady picked at my big toe and I NOW HAVE A BACTERIAL INFECTION from this nail salon. My toe is red, swollen and infected. Don't trust the Midas touch. They're nice, holly is great, they were slammed and literally running around. The nail technicians were literally running around because they were busy running back-and-forth between the two rooms they keep all their stuff in a little closet so they are constantly getting up and going to the little closet. One time she was getting out an ingrown toenail and she shoved some kind of instrument into my toe to get it out and left it there for a solid thirty seconds while talking to her neighbor. I think my experience was probably not very good because there were 4 really obnoxious customers there who were asking the nail techs how long they've been in America. so rude and annoying. At one point my freshly painted toe was run over by a little stool that they sit on so its smudged didn't ask them to fix it because it already took 45 minutes for a pedicure. Then they asked me to go wash my hands didn't tell me where I had never been there before and then when I picked up my own purse to move it because every other place will grab your stuff for you and move it to your next location for a manicure this place doesn't do that apparently the girl got mad and told me to go rewash my hands. My French tip on my thumb is crooked but the rest of my nails look good. Overall I was there for an hour and 30 minutes I had a pedicure and a shellac manicure my toe is smudged and my finger is crooked. Skip this place. Oh and ask to skip the arm massage, it actually hurt, there's a reason they do nails and not massage. read more

Cuticles burned and sting up to three days after manicure. It's been a week now and cuticles are still sensitive to the touch. All I got was shellac! After one week, the grow out looks like My nails already need to be redone. The lady painted so far from the cuticles it was ridiculous. I would have made them redo them if I didn't have other appointments. For $80 mani and pedi(shellac) this was unacceptable as far as experience and service. It was absolutely dead and maybe two other customers. Had two ladies working on me (one on nails one on feet) in such a hurry . I was just a turn and burn customer and for what??? Going into nail salons and coming out with exactly what I want is very rare especially in the pacific north west. I would typically give Midas 5 full on stars however my recent experience there was beyond terrible. I used to frequent Midas when I lived in Portland and was always 100% pleased with the service and the quality of work they do. I no longer live in Portland but when I visit, I make it a point to go to Midas every time! So last Friday I went and I ended up getting a horrible nail lady. She was a younger Asian girl, had to be in her early 20's I'd say, I think her name was LiLi or MiMi! She literally spent less then 5 minutes on my Pedi, it seemed as though she was rushing, she didn't scrub my heels, hardly cleaned up my cuticles...I had to ask her to slow down 3 different times. When it was time to do my mani, she attempted to have me soak my fingers in some very cold water. She later gave me the most rushed and roughest back massage. I was "that girl" in the nail salon, publicly complaining about her service... I usually can't stand those people and I had to be that one. That alone was uncomfortable for me. This girl does NOT need to be providing service to customers at Midas, she completely put a bad taste in my mouth about ever coming back. However, I know next time to avoid her. There is a man that is always there, if you can get him then you will be more than pleased with your service, he is amazing. read more

Great little spot! After a few weeks of hiking with my boyfriend, we decided to treat ourselves to pedicures, which my boyfriend had never experienced before. They do honor the 15% off upon first yelp check in, which is a pretty cool deal. We were driving into Portland after our hikes, and the first thing I wanted was this pedicure. Midas was the only place open past 6 on a Sunday night (they closed at 7), so we called for a reservation at 6:45 due to time constraints, and they were super sweet despite the timing. The salon is located in an adorable old home-turned business building, with a cafe on the first floor and the salon on the second. The salon was well-kept and very tidy. The polish selection was really great for both regular and shellac. After picking my color, we were taken to the pedicure chairs. My boyfriends chair had the built in electric back massager, but mine was broken, which was disappointing. One of the employees came up to offer us a selection of drinks, including hot tea, water, and red and white wine. I don't know about the wines, but we both got hot tea, and it was complimentary. Then the pedicures began. We both got the $25 spa pedis, which included the foot soak, cut, file and cuticle work, lotion massage, calus treatment and exfoliating scrub. Mine also came with a standard polish, which was an additional $15 for shellac, a bit steep in my opinion. But the work was well done! My nail tech had great attention to detail, and my boyfriend loved every second of his experience. A new nail tech took over to do my polish, which turned out great. They even treated us to hot stone massages, which are a part of the deluxe package, for no charge. That was fabulous. With the 15% off, my total came to $34 and my boyfriends came to $21. I went in for a gel manicure/spa pedicure and brought in my SO for a "men's" mani/ped. This should have only cost $70 before tip. They charged us $120!
