If I could give a zero I would after being scammed out of money for services! I tried to talk to the salon and this is their response to a customer. " Dena Liburdi is an independent contractor who operates her own business within the salon. She manages her own scheduling, pricing, payment methods, and service policies. Because of this, all service charges and pricing decisions are determined directly by her. We understand that pricing changes and communication around appointments can feel frustrating. However, any questions regarding service totals, refunds, or payment preferences would need to be addressed directly with Dena, as those matters fall under her individual business operations. " Thanks but no thanks again! read more

I absolutely love Coterie! All of my hair dreams have come true! I have seen multiple stylists at the salon and my hair always turns out fabulous! The salon has a friendly, clean, and hip vibe. read more

I think there may be management issues here. The salon is not particularly clean, and the acoustics are lacking. It is very loud with people chatting, not a relaxing experience at all. Parking is also extremely difficult. The receptionist is always very kind and accommodating, but not always at the desk. read more

Nikole is the best!! She's been doing my hair for about 20 years and always makes it healthy and shine!!

I have come to sing the pauses of Justine! I have lots of curly hair and it's always nerve-wracking to find a new stylist. My previous stylist moved away a year ago and I haven't been back to a salon since. After lots of research online for a hairstylist that dry cuts I settled on Justine and I'm so glad I did. Justine is very well versed in curly hair from cutting to care. She took the time to ask questions about my hair and hair history, offered great suggesting for care and what products to use. She was fun, upbeat and had a great sense of humor, my time in the chair flew by. Coterie as a whole was a fun, upbeat salon. From the atmosphere, the friendly person who welcomed me in and took my coat to the lively other stylist chatting with other customers I couldn't be happier with my cut and experience at this salon. If you're a curly girl, go see Justine, you'll be so happy you did! read more

I have been seeing Justine Poteraj for years! I was just talking to friends about how nice it is to trust your stylist and enjoy seeing them too! Justine understands the level of styling I want to do (very little) and cuts my thick, wavy hair in a way that dries and grows out well. Coterie is a sweet little spot with friendly staff. read more

****ASK FOR TINA!!*** Long overdue review... but this is a review for Tina my favorite hair stylist. I've received the best haircut from Tina. I'm super picky with my hair so I used to travel to LA every few months just to get my haircuts after being to a few bad places here in Portland. She was amazing with my hair! I have long thick hair and Tina knew exactly how to perfectly thin out my hair but also create a natural volume. My hair looked even better after a few months as it grew out. I've received so many compliments on how healthy and beautiful my hair was. I'll be going only to Tina for my haircuts from now on. read more

This is my first haircut since moving here, and usually it takes awhile to find your hair place in a new town, but this worked out perfectly! The receptionist was really nice, and Jessica did a great job on my hair. She asked a lot of questions and gave me a great cut. I waited a month before writing the review because I wanted to make sure it worked out. I have wavy hair, and sometimes it's barely wavy and sometimes more curly and wild, and the cut that Jessica gave me is working out great no matter what the weather is and no matter what I do with it. I feel like I really lucked out in finding a hairdresser on the first try! read more

I went here and it was amazing the second time however the first time I got the stylist karlee and she was terrible.

I've been seeing Jessica for years and will never trust anyone else with my hair! She is the cut and coloring QUEEN! I've never had an unpleasant experience with her. I always walk out with healthier, prettier hair every. single. time. Jessica is the epitome of the perfect hair dresser - she listens to what you want, gives great advice, is extremely bubbly and a joy to talk to - never a dull moment with this girl!! The salon is super cute, chic, offers wine, beer, coffee, etc. and the product selection is great. Highly recommend! read more

If you need a new hair salon this is the one for you. Jessica is a wizard with my hair and is also super fun to talk to for hours! I've been going to her for 6 years and I come out looking great each time. Added bonus - wine, tea, water, beer... what more could you need?! Oh and online booking! read more

I've been going to Justine P. at Caporicci Sweet for my last 3 hairstyles and I just love her! I used to have a "No-Woman-Can-Do-My-Hair" policy because what other women wants to make you look better then themselves... right?!? but when I met Justine, I finally met another woman who is willing to make you look beyond fabulous, no lie. So what makes a great hairstylist: For starters Justine doesn't just assume anything when it comes to your beloved hair, she asks all the questions and even asks you to bring in pictures of the look you're going for. For every appointment, I walk in with my pinterest web boards and show her the looks I am open to and with further discussion, we narrow down an achievable style and promptly get er' done. It's all about having the same expectations and allowing her to work with the nature of your hair to achieve it. As with all new hairstylist situations: always give a heads up when you have a full head of hair, if it's extra long, or if your last stylist always needed an extra hour to process color -this is just a nice little courtesy to help your stylist keep to their appointment times. read more

Traci Caporicci is a "rock-star" hairstylist who cuts hair like a dream and works magic with color! Thank you Traci for taming my thick, unruly hair for all of these years and making me feel beautiful! The salon has a hip but relaxed atmosphere with no attitude. If your looking for a stylist to work some magic on your own hair, I highly recommend Traci or any of the stylist at Caporicci Sweet. The salon is located off of NW 23rd and Savier and there is always parking within a couple of blocks if your park to the W of 23rd. read more

I went here twice for a cut and highlights, and while I loved the highlights each time, I wasn't excited about the cut. I gave photos and explained what I was looking for, but I never walked out with what I had hoped for. The staff were all so nice, I loved chatting with everybody and enjoyed my time there, but in the end, I had to find somebody who could give me the cut I really wanted. I couldn't keep spending that much money when I wasn't absolutely satisfied. They do have beer and wine for their of-age clients, just ask! Here's a parking tip: while parking in that neighborhood is always a challenge, but I always found a spot just south of 23rd on Savier. read more

Note: The salon has since changed its name to Coterie. Couldn't wait to post my fantastic review. Coterie is FANTASTIC! I came to Coterie (former Capporicci) with a request to fix a horrible hair color job I received from a salon I had been a patron of for several years. I had a decent ombre that I wanted to transition to all over blonde highlights. This salon was always overbooked (double booked, rushed, understaffed) and instead of getting subtle highlights I ended up with sloppy bright white streaks. Mortified, I was referred to Jessica B at Coterie and I am so happy I came in! When I walked in consult Coterie about the fix, Justine was at the front and welcomed in the stressed, sad-hair stranger with open arms! Bonus points for Coterie that they had a receptionist who was also a stylist and had a number of suggestions on how to fix the color. Justine was super cool and empathetic and was able to schedule an appointment two days later. First off, Jessica was very sweet and confidently knew right off the bat what I wanted. She wove in the most delicate low lights and way toned down my "X-tina circa 2004 Dirrty tour" white streaks. She checked in with me several times throughout the process to make sure the color was what I wanted, and she was more than happy to do a second toning to make sure the color was brilliant and soft. Before walking in, I seriously doubted if my hair could be fixed. I was considering just doing all-over color and going back to an ombre (which is a beautiful look, but a tired one after sporting it for a year). She did the impossible and was so enjoyable to hang out with! Jessica is talented, uses a very beautiful color line, and did a fantastic transformation. The other stylists were super friendly and helpful. They even serve a free drink here :) Prices were also very reasonable. Only $15 dollars more than my horrible dye job. Woo hoo! LOVE IT! read more

I went to Coterie when I lived in PDX for several years, and while I absolutely appreciated Jessica at the time, I can say now that I took her for granted bc she is an actual artist when it comes to painting your hair. What she does is intuitive and masterful. She was so attune to what I wanted and what would actually look good- she always took her time, was invested in the outcome and I have never loved my hair cuts and colors more. Now that I'm no longer living in PDX, I leave each new hair appt disappointed bc she ruined me by setting the bar so high. Jessica is the best. If you live in PDX and are looking for amazing balayage, run, don't walk. As someone who can no longer experience her expert work, I am jealous. Jessica, i miss our hair sessions!! read more

This modern salon has an amazing location in Northwest and is always a buzz with clients. I'd attribute that to the cheerful, friendly atmosphere and warm greeting as you walk in. I highly recommend Jessica - she has been doing my hair for nine years. Even though I have moved away from Oregon, I still fly back every other month for a cut and color. I haven't tried looking for anyone, anywhere else - Jessica is the very best! read more

I love this salon! I spent 6 years looking for a reliable hairdresser and Jessica is the best! she really knows how to cut your hair just as you like it, but also knows when to stop you from making a huge mistake, she also knows how to cut your hair so it grows out nice. The salon it'self is professional, clean with a great selection of products, overall great place! read more

Coterie - My new precision bob haircut! - Hair Salons Near Me - Portland, Oregon

great little salon hidden off a side street of 23rd Ave. Josie is amazing with cut and color. I almost hate to write a great review on her becuase she is already to hard to get booked with. The salon in general is small, but nice and clean. Thoughtful offerings while you wait of a variety of teas, magazines, water, even beer or wine surprisingly. Every staff person I have encoutered here has been kind and helpful. I have even taken my two little ones in for quick cuts and the salon staff was all very comfortable and welcoming to them. read more

Tina was just great. The place is spendy for a hair cut but worth it. She didn't give me any shit either about bleaching my own hair which I appreciate. She took the time to talk to me about my lifestyle before cutting anything off. read more

When I saw a woman with the best swingy, cute hair EVER, I just about tackled her. She told me: Caporicci Sweet in NW near Besaw's. Well, alrighty then. I've been going there for like three years now and never get bored. Not once has Sophie Sweet uttered the words: "So, what are we doing today?" She looks at the whole picture - like do you want to slam your frock into a ponytail daily? Do you mind blow drying? But mostly, what would look great on YOU, not anybody else. You know, like Farrah. read more

After a traumatic bob-gone-pixie cut years ago, I cut my own hair for a long time. Justine was super sweet, gave me her professional opinion about what my hair needed to look healthy again, and worked with me every step of the way. I absolutely LOVE my haircut, and would recommend her to anyone. I'll definitely be back when it's time for my next trim :) read more

I had an amazing experience getting my hair colored with Jessica Benson. I was referred to her by two friends and I'm so happy I took their advice and tried out a new salon. Not only was Jessica fun and personable the entire time, she was also incredibly attentive and willing to go the extra mile to make my hair absolutely perfect. When my hair didn't take to the exact color I wanted the first time, Jessica was completely understanding and willing to see me again. My hair ended up being a gorgeous, perfect blonde and I love it! I had the best overall experience at Coterie and Jessica's outstanding service and expertise made all the difference. read more

I just went to Coterie for the first time to have Jessica Benson color and cut my hair. I had been going to her before her move here and have always been satisfied. I wanted a summer cut and just asked for her opinion and was very happy. We lightened up my highlights for the summer and I got to add a pop of purple that I had always wanted to do. The salon is cute and comfy. Parking is just like all parking on 23rd so add another 5-10 mins to snag a spot. I highly recommend Jessica! read more

Nickol Johnson is the best! She's been my stylist for 5 years and she does the best blonde highlighting and balayage in town! Hair is THE MOST important, right? Can't trust it to just anyone. Traci has not only done my haircuts and color for years and makes me look awesome every time, she also does several of my friends. Caporicci Sweet Hairdressing This is the best salon that I have ever been to. (Hair salon, that is.) My hair cuts have been great and the "eye candy" there is amazing ! (Yowsa !!) Traci is my favorite gal. (I mean, "WeeeOooh..!") She even trims my eyebrow hairs, although she does draw the line at removing my ear wax. I can't seem to get that service there from anyone. So, if you need a great hairstyle, (and as far as Smokin' Hot Babes: If you want to see some or you want to be one), Caporicci Sweet Hairdressing is the place to go. read more

I have been going to Caporicci Sweet since they opened. I have tried to go to other places, but no one can give me the haircut that they do. They are so professional and kind. loved my hair dresser traci for a couple years, but eventually went downhill real quickly... she messed up my hair 3 times in a row... i asked her why she didn't take notes and she balked at the idea even after messing up 3 times! then they messed up my appointment twice and offered nothing but an apology. great conversations with her, but terrible customer service and the quality of the cuts went bad over time... and she didn't really care in the end. i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. parking was also always difficult. read more

Had a great haircut experience with Ronnette. I had a short pixie cut with asymmetric bob that I wanted to transition to something longer for the winter. I wasn't sure what style I wanted exactly but my hair was feeling shaggy after growing out in the summer and needed a trim without getting cut too short. Ronnette was helpful in giving suggestions and responding to my requests on select parts like the back and bangs. My hair felt great afterwards and the length was perfect so I could still keep my asymmetric bob shape but now cleaned up a bit. I've had my hair cut by several different stylists in the past few years due to moving around and noticed some treat a pixie cut like a guy's cut, very precise and angular when I would have liked a more organic, softer look. I'm not sure they would have handled my vague generalizations about the cut I wanted that Ronnette did so well. I learned she has many years of hair styling experience and even use to have her own salon when she was in another state. What a gem! read more
