Yesterday they left me a voicemail saying they would have an update for me by the end of the day but of course that didn't happen. WORST company ever run by people whose word holds no value. Those are the worst types of people to run a business unfortunately. I wish my community used literally anyone else for property management.

I think they have gone through 4 different administrative assistants in the 2 years we dealt with them. We never received the correct mail key for the entire 2 years we rented, we received our water bill months late multiple times and was charged late fees by the water company. In April 2019 we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house. We called the emergency number multiple times since it was after hours with no answer. We then decided to call a locksmith as it was beginning to get dark. I informed the property management that we changed locks and offered them a key. It was then they wanted to charge us to have a locksmith come out to change the locks. I told them, no we tried calling their "emergency" number with no answer, we didn't have another choice. The lease stated we were not allowed to make changes to the unit unless deemed an emergency. We were stuck outside with 3 small children in spring, it became an emergency when they didn't answer the emergency line. When it became time to renew our lease they emailed a lease renewal document. We didn't sign it right away as we have 30 days to give notice whether we are staying or not. A week prior to the 30 day mark I get an email from Alex threatening to put the house back in the market if the signed lease isn't returned by Monday. I reminded him we have until the following week to sign it and also a little customer service goes a long way. I just received the move out inspection and they are gouging us $250 for a drywall hole the size of a quarter and $250 to remove stickers as well as $50 to retrieve a small toy from a high window sill, $55 trip charge and $200 in materials. Clearly that amount of work does not cost that much, they just want to keep as much money as possible. The returned security deposit check was postmarked 22 days after we vacated, which is illegal. Then on top of it, they didn't even sign the check so it wasn't valid! We did not receive a valid check until September 8th, 39 days after we vacated. I do not recommend PMI Puget Sound to homeowners looking to have a company to rent their home or even a renter looking for a unit.

When we toured the unit, she was very knowledgeable about the property and its history, and answered all my questions regarding the rental terms and application process. Katie was extremely kind, personable, and professional, and gave me the strong sense that she and the company she represents are trustworthy and sincere. The townhome was great, but unfortunately, another applicant applied for the unit the night before we met, so the timing didn't work out. After we toured the property, Katie was kind enough to show me another home nearby, and went above and beyond, by searching for other properties in the area managed by Maple Leaf. I decided to not move at this time, but am grateful for all of Katie's help and hope to work with her and Maple Leaf Property Management in the future.

When I moved in I told them there was a hole in the outside wall, near the kitchen window. For the next 1.5 years I told them and they had their own inspectors take pictures of it. Despite this, they only made a move to fix it once I reported them to the city. The whole time I lived there I was told that all of my things molding was my fault (including 2 beds!). I was told to leave my cupboard doors and drawers open to prevent mildew in the kitchen. The dehumidifier I requested would fill up at the end of each day. When they finally opened the wall to fix the hole, there was black/wet insulation and they had to replace half of the kitchen's 2x4's, and the workers found another hole with earth worms living in the kitchen under the dishwasher. Despite having 5 different workers out to deal with the hole and earth worms, this was never fixed by the time I moved out. And then, 2 weeks before I moved out there was water dripping out of the bathroom ceiling fan. They opened it up to find a leak that had to be going on for at least a year because the insulation was again black and the wood was moldy. They did not fix this before I moved out. I just had to live with a hole in the ceiling above the shower... Then they illegally withheld $750 from my deposit. They didn't follow the law by detailing the reasons for withholding this amount. They simply printed out a screenshot of text messages with their handyman giving an estimate on two projects. Thankfully I was able to recover the deposit since they do not know the law or how to do their jobs. There is so much more, but this should suffice as a warning. Lastly, their own employees bad mouth each other. Highly unprofessional and shows the do not even follow basic respect standards. Disgusting, gaslighting, lying, and incompetent company. Steer clear!

This woman (Beth) is a horrible landlord/agent, She misrepresented a place that we had rented, So…read morewe were moving back to Washington and found a place she had listed in Auburn, we filled out the app and had our sister meet her to do a walkthrough, the place was ok for what we were looking for we asked her while they were walking around the house (video call) about any insect issues and she said no there weren't any bug issues at all, well we signed the lease gave her all the $$ required and thought we had a decent place, so a about 2 days later our sister met her to do the walk through and get the keys and she was always at the house before my sister in law would show up (and she was early) which we didn't think to much about but made sense later, so our sister got the keys did the walkthrough and everything checked out with exception to some little things ( no big deal ) then a day or so later our sister came back over to do a little touch up cleaning and other than the extremely nosy and bossy neighbor, well we moved over a few days later and just put a few boxes on the garage and started looking around the house and my wife found millipedes in a couple rooms and that sent my wife off the deep end ( she is terrified of creepy crawlies ) so we asked to be let out of our lease understanding there are some costs to relist it but this place was misrepresented and I believe she knew. She was showing up early for the previous meetings so she could clean up the bugs before anyone got there, she let us out of the lease and restarted the add. It was rented a week and a half later but the new renter couldn't move in till the 25th of the month so we paid the rent for the 25 days of the next month, and we figured she would deduct something for the advertising but she kept all of our deposit now considering she was out of pocket for no money for any of the time this just seemed sleazy and she never offered to solve the bug problem. So with that being said stay away from this lady..oh and by the way the neighbor (this was a duplex) was a nosey bossy a@#hole that she said was such a nice guy.

Recently we end up our lease in advance due to some emergencies. According to the lease agreement, we are expected to pay for a 2-month rental as the punishment. However, Eastside allows us to pay until they find another tenant (indeed they find another tenant in a week), which minimizes our loss. We have nothing but good things to say about their service. For openers, Dawnette is a shockingly poor communicator. The text chains I could show you are really embarrassing. She responds as if she's only half paying attention and is very unclear in her responses. We aren't sure if the problem is cognitive or that she doesn't care enough to engage with purpose. She also drops the ball. For example, she was given a three month heads up that the renters would not be extending, and I reminded her twice to get ready to list/show the house again. Nonetheless, the house sat empty for a month because she forgot to get it back on the market. Also, she brought every little renter complaint to me rather than just solving the problems like a property manager should. I'd be on a cruise ship texting plumbers while she waited for further instruction. One time she almost rented our home to a guy who was using his father's SS#. It was obvious something was awry with the renters information and I had to point out the obvious to prevent her from renting the house under fraudulent pretenses. Perhaps our biggest complaint of all is she didn't show us an ounce of respect. We felt like we were at the bottom of her list of people who deserve consideration. We paid her way to much money to feel like she didn't care about us or our experience. The first two years we employed her she found us a renter and we managed the property ourselves. That was mostly ok, other than when she forgot to relist the house. The last year we used her to manage the property and it was downright dreadful. We wouldn't recommend Dawnette to our worst enemy. She is bad at what she does. Our property manager in Texas is leagues better in every regard so we know how the job can and should be done. We hope this helps. Avoid at all costs.
