I can see why it's loved and a great community experience, but it isn't my speed. The facilities all seem to be in good order- cold room, hammam, hot tubs, pools, plunge area, infrared, steam saunas, you DO have it all right here and can stay for ages including BYOB with many groups just drinking and rotating around while relaxing with friends. The atmosphere is cacophony- dozens of signs from different times and different fonts and different warnings plastered on every single surface. Hallways are small and dark. You have slippers and robes and towels easily available and everything you get is well priced. It's simply too loud for my spa preferences. It was odd who was asked to hand over phones to keep behind the front desk and who was not. And the shower in the ladies bathroom IS in bad shape. But I can see why it's hard to find parking during peak times and will be a go to place for many.

, , :…read more I am extremely disappointed with my visit to this establishment. My friends and I arrived well before closing time and were sitting quietly at our table, not causing any disturbance. However, the staff began rushing us to leave significantly earlier than the posted closing hours. They started turning off the lights, stopped the music, and began cleaning right around us. It was clear they wanted us out -- despite the fact that we were still well within the allowed time. When we calmly questioned this and asked for an explanation, instead of engaging in a respectful dialogue, the staff called the police. Let me repeat that: the police were called simply because we were present during business hours and politely asked why we were being pushed out. It was humiliating, absurd, and completely uncalled for. I have rarely seen such blatant disrespect toward paying customers. An establishment that calls the police on well-behaved guests does not deserve even a single star. This kind of behavior by the staff is shameful and shows a complete lack of professionalism. I strongly recommend that management urgently review their service standards and retrain the staff. My friends and I will never return -- and I do not recommend this place to anyone.

An appointment was scheduled for me and on the Sunday of my appointment Colleen greeter us and explained everything in great detail to us. You have to shower and wash your hair prior to getting in the tank and you have the option of going in your swimsuit or birthday suit, the choice is yours. You have a private room with a shower stall and a float pod. They provide the shampoo, conditioner (use after you get out the pod), ear plugs, towels and floatation devices for you to use in the pod. Now once in the pod, that's when it became tricky for me...I couldn't get myself in a comfortable position for the longest. Most people lay on their back and are comfortable that way with a floaty behind their head. Me on the other hand found my comfortable position to be on my stomach, resting my chin on a floaty with my arms extended 2 fingers locked. This was the best for me!! While trying to figure out my comfort position, I did begin to move, extend, and stretch the part of my body that I was having discomfort in and since then that part of my body has been feeling really well. I'm able to move it and everything with it being stiff and very painful before. I'd definitely go back. Colleen was helpful and answered all questions that I had. The one thing that I didn't like was the slimy feeling your skin has when you're in the float. Also, make sure you bring your own soap and things and shower VERY WELL when done so as not to bring salt with you.

Tucked away in the back of Carousel Village at Indian Walk off of Durham Road, these barns-turned-gyms are spacious, extremely clean, and full of quality machines/fitness gear. Behind the buildings, there is a running trail that takes you around the Christmas Tree lot and through a mini-zoo. Seriously. Emus, goats, donkeys, llamas, miniature horses... it makes running fun and they're just so CUTE. There is a huge obstacle course out back behind the gym as well. I can't wait to try it out this summer. The CrossFit coaches (who, I believe, also do personal training) are so knowledgeable about everything. I'm such a weak little shit, but they're patient with me, modify some of the workouts when necessary, and they take the time to make sure that everyone is using good form to prevent injury. They push us, cheer us on, and after two months of going 2-5 times per week, I really feel so much stronger. Transcend also has spinning classes, boot camp, MMA, boxing, and kids' fitness camp/classes. They're just getting started having yoga as well. Note: I believe a regular gym membership that DOESN'T include CrossFit is fairly cheaper than $89/month. Students are $40/month, but I don't know what that includes. This gym has everything, and I've never felt so confident about spending a monthly fee on something. (I'm always suspicious of reviews on Yelp if they sound like they're just an employee or even the owner of a business just trying to make the place sound better. I'm adding this as an afterthought just in case - I am in no way affiliated with this gym. I really just found the place online in February and I've been going ever since!)

I pass this course quite often, played there years ago and was disappointed that I couldn't golf. I forget about this course actually. Anyway, as my group finished golf and arrived for lunch most said the grounds were as hard as a rock, not in good shape and I should be glad not to have golfed that day. Hmm. They all said no more golf outings there. In all fairness, it is the first week of Spring and maybe it just needs more time since the season is just starting. Nonetheless...they were very disappointed. On a good note, the 20 of us sat on the outside covered patio and had a really good lunch. I wasn't expecting much based on the bad reviews of the course therefore I was quite surprised just how good the food was at their restaurant. My burger and fries were delicious. Cooked exactly as requested. The chicken cheesesteak was a huge sandwich and filled with a generous amount of chicken. Two could easily share that. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Only one mishap...they ran out of fries! Substituted onion rings. Normally, that would be a good thing however, the onion rings looked awful. Skinny and overdone, more fried breading then onion...not the good kind of onion rings. Glad I was last to get the fries otherwise my review would be less stars. The quesadilla, salads and other meals also looked very good and generous portions. Our service was friendly and timly. I can see going back for lunch at some point to dine outside on a nice day. Not sure about the golf? I was fluctuating between 3 and 4 stars bc 3.5 would be my pick however, I just can't do 4 stars...hopefully next time. And I will try the restaurant again...probably one of the better restaurants in that area.

The following week, my son fell in his lip was busted, but the team in charge of kids academy really had no explanation as to how that happened either. Finally, in an attempt to relax recently, I chose to enjoy the steam room and hot tub on site. Both rooms had mold on the floor, and when I went to take a shower, I found that someone had detangled their hair and smeared it on the wall of the shower and that no one had bothered to clean it up. At over $200 a month for the membership you would expect that maintenance will be available and that I would not have had hair balls flying at me when I tried to get in the shower, but that is not the case. I reported this issue to the front desk and they gave me the email address to their manager. Unfortunately, I was given the wrong email address and the email bounced back. I copied the overarching Life Time email address in my communication and all I received was an automated email saying that my membership has been canceled. No acknowledgment of my experiences there. Extremely disappointing.

I know my mother uses Cryo for chronic pain, so I thought it was worth a shot for some acute pain as well. I admit that I was nervous, but I called Cryo Spa and was lucky to be given a same-day appointment. They're open until 8pm on some weekdays, so it made it easy for me to head straight over after work. They were even able to get me in early. The girl at the desk who was the one who helped me with the process was super patient and understanding. I was worried about leaving my belongings unattended in a new place, but you actually get to stay in a room with your stuff and keep watch the entire time. The attendant left the room while I changed, and then I stepped into the Cryo chamber while it was turned off. The sound of the door closing alerts the attendant, and then she comes in and elevates you so your head and neck are above the chamber, and then the cooling begins. She talked to me the whole time, asking about my injury to distract me from the excessively freezing temperatures for the three minute session. I think I did feel some improvement since the experience, but I have to admit that their prices seem steep for a three minute session. I'm not sure if time in the chamber increases with more experience, but this is certainly something to consider. I'm definitely thinking about returning for another session.

It can be a little challenging to reach if coming down Buck Road, but with patience the traffic and red lights can be overcome. It is well worth your effort to find your way there. Although cryotherapy (exposing your body to extremely cold temperature for a short period of time to deal with autoimmune conditions through the release of endorphins and anti-inflammatory proteins) is the main attraction, I was there on a first visit for a full body massage to address lingering lower back issues. I was greeted promptly by the front desk person, who asked me to complete three pages of information regarding my medical history and reason for coming. Before I was finished, my masseuse Marla was introducing herself with warm smile and firm handshake. Before starting the massage, I was also introduced to Lucy, the owner of the facility. She offered to give me a quick tour. She showed me the cryotherapy equipment, shiatsu and mediation rooms, and finally the massage chamber where Marla would attempt to loosen my lumbar/sacral spine and take my discomfort away. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside, and Lucy was very knowledgeable about all the modalities offered. When it was time to start my massage, Marla directed me to disrobe and get under the sheets on the table, face down on the headrest. She left the room while I did so. Upon returning, she asked a few questions about the strength of the massage desired (strong), and instructed me to tell her if I was experiencing pain (Don't worry. I don't deal with pain in silence.) She explained that she would be doing a combination of stretches, deep tissue, pressure point and Swedish techniques which she labeled as, "Sports Massage." She was amazing. Her hands intuitively found the discomfort in my back and legs, and dug, kneaded, lifted/stretched my joints, and actually moved the muscles, tendons and ligaments around to release their tension and help them find their proper place in my body alignment. She had incredible strength, and was able to lift each leg, pull it further upward, while manipulating the musculature and joints. All the while, we conversed quietly about how I was feeling, giving me directions to help her, and informing me about her experience in massage and healthcare. Fascinating woman. Excellent healer. After my hour, I arose slowly. I felt looser and longer. More significantly, a sense of wellbeing and mild euphoria surrounded me. I was extremely relaxed and felt a limberness and flexibility that had been absent for a long while. I slept very well last night. This morning, even as I write this review, my body feels like it is glowing. I know I will return to CryoSpa regularly to maintain and improve this sensation of health, strength and vitality. Marla did great work. I also want to give the Shiatsu a try, and if brave enough, go into the cryospa itself to see what that can do. Totally positive first impression.
