This small shop in Greenpoint is probably the closest you can get to actually going into a shop in Warsaw. As soon as you enter, you are treated to the smells of smoked meats and the sounds of Polish being spoken. Yes, a number of the workers don't speak English, but you can usually communicate what you want, and the cashiers I've encountered can communicate in English. For a small place, the variety of meats and Polish products (soups, candies, pierogi, hams, etc.) is outstanding. I usually pick up a kielbasa and perogi. Likewise, the prices are very good. I always leave surprised that I didn't spend as much as I thought I would. Two things: One, they really have the air-conditioning running there. It's like walking into a freezer. On a hot day, it feels great, but just so you don't be surprised. Two, the place can get very crowded. The people there generally move very fast, but you may have to wait on a line to pick up the various delectable meats. I did have one disappointment during my last visit: They used to have an area where you could pick pickles. I really liked some of the pickles they had. This last time, that area was gone. Maybe now they are behind the counter. I didn't ask or check around (my bad). I was tempted to drop my review to 4 stars, but I still believe that a visit to Polam International is definitely something to be experienced. And I would also recommend walking around the neighborhood. Greenpoint has a vibrant Polish community, with a number of shops, restaurants, and bakeries. You can also take a walk along the river.

The best Butcher in Green Point. Veal Sausages and Bloodwurst are out of control good.

After reading some reviews, we stopped into Polam yesterday to buy some smoked salmon. All of the reviews are true, no one that works there or shops there speak English--lots of Polish, so therefore lots of pointing. The salmon was great, and I'd definitely like to go back to try their kielbasa and perogies.

Carries many Polish staples from Vegeta to the various commercial Polish chocolates. Their pre-made pierogis are delicious, and even picked up some of their golabki (stuffed cabbage) and it was pretty good

Inside the Polish Meat Market. The whole market is so cold you can see your breath. Oh and they don't speak English.

Great polish meat market. Yes it is very cold inside the entire market. The meat is out in the open so they must keep it cold in there. Only thing to be aware of is that they do not speak English and what little they do speak is very limited. If you know what you want then no problem. But if you want someone to explain every thing to you then plan to bring a translator with you or hope that a customer next to you will be willing to help you out with translation. It is very busy so other customers probably don't like when people take too long trying to learn what things are as you would be holding up the line. It would be best to probably just randomly point out things and try them. That's what I did when I was there and so far everything has been great. Besides, it makes for a nice surprise when you get home.

Works out to be the best easy dinner: kielbasa with boiled potatoes and a huge side of 'kraut and globs of good mustard.

I've been receiving Ends Meat's monthly butcher boxes from Table 22 for about 4 months now and…read morethey've definitely forced me to up my cooking game! What began as a search for easy access to high-quality meets, led to my discovery of this butcher. One of the big drawers of patronizing their business is the partnerships they have with sustainable farmers. And you can tell the quality is there. I've had some of the best cuts of meat ever from here (especially their bacon). Some of the items I've received have been: pork loins A half chicken (I wish they left the innards ) Lamb sausage Chorizo (7.5/10) Rib eyes Beef tenderloin (my favorite) Bacons (also my favorite) Spicy chili French butter Mushroom seasoning/rub Bauvette Terrine Prepackaged sausage links (my least favorite, especially the ones with cheese inside) Chicken salad Ham hock And more I would really like to continue this membership, however I'm currently ordering the Deluxe Box (the higher tier) and I'm considering downgrading or pausing because it's definitely a lot to cook over the month. I wish there was an option to select what you want in the box, even if it were the animal, as I LOVE their ground beef and most of their beef products, but don't particularly love some of the sausages and ham items. Also, I believe the membership is advertised as to having monthly recipes, notes and ideas for each of the cuts of meat, but I have yet to see those. Also, I haven't received any priority access to in-shop events or special offers as advertised. Overall, if you or someone you know loves high quality meats and cooking, this is an excellent idea for them.

My friend and I were looking around for either a lite bite or something to drink post a Yelp event…read more Unfortunately, the kitchen was just closing down around 7pm on a weekday. Not surprised because it's the dead of winter and was a ghost town in Industry City. But the butcher was still open and he ordered some kind of stack of red meat and I purchased a beer from their very extensive craft beer fridge. I think I got a little overly excited because I got something called a Bagel & Schmear from Other Half Brewery and didn't read the description of it being an IPA. I mean, a bagel beer would be special. They do have amazing sounding sandwiches (most are reasonably-ish priced around $17 although it depends on the size of the sandwich amiright?): Porchetta, Steak, Pastrami Melt, Roast Beast, Burgers. I'd definitely have to come back to try something. They also have a fun condiment section and variety of jarred foods selection on the shelves.
