Inside, the place was spartan and dim, and there was only one person inside who was happy to greet us. She explained what our options were and we both ordered the big bowls with 5 proteins. I picked tuna, spicy tuna, albacore, salmon, and spicy salmon. My +1 opted for scallops instead of the spicy salmon. They also offer cooked octopus and shrimp. They also had all the standard toppings, likes imitation crab meat, edamame, seaweed salad, etc. and a few different sauces. I tried the house sauce. I will say that I was a bit disappointed by both the quality and quantity. The proteins were a little skimpy and so were the toppings. I'm still grieving the fact that their Chino Hills location closed. This was THE poke spot. I've tried poke all over SoCal, and nothing compares. The fish was always so fresh, the toppings always perfect, and the sauces... don't even get me started. Their sauce game was unmatched -- I still dream about it. This is long second time eating Poki ever, so they had to walk me through the ordering process and the different elements for me to create my own Poki bowl. Nice experience overall. My bowl was good, full of flavor and very tasteful, I had sushi rice (Sticky rice), shrimp, salmon , tuna, cucumbers, cilantro, avocados, crunchy garlic and soy sauce. I think that was all. The smallest bowl comes with 3 scoops of protein for ~$13. The fish chunks were a good size, and their traditional sauce was pretty good. Overall size was a good portion for lunch. I'm always stoked when I learn of a new poke place in town. Poki Cat just opened yesterday on 1-13-19. They are located on the corner of Alicia Pkwy and Via Fabricante, next to the former Rubio's and occupying the space of where Gandolfo's New York Deli used to be. I arrived right when they opened at 11:00 am and the employee inside was ready for me. He was the nicest guy ever! He explained all of the sauces, toppings, proteins, etc. and went through the whole drill, which is similar to almost all of the other poke places - choose a base, add your proteins, select a sauce, choose your toppings, pay at the cash register and dive into your poke bowl! The inside was clean, spacious and bright. It matched the personality of the employee. I ordered the 3 protein bowl (ahi tuna, salmon & albacore) with salad as my base, the Poki Cat Original sauce (a blend of ponzu & shoyu), and toppings, all for $9.99. The price is on par with other poke places. I also added avocado for $1 extra. Since they are in their soft opening phase, they are offering 10% off, which is a great deal! I got my bowl to go, and they put it in a sturdy plastic box and placed it in a bag. The overall poke bowl taste was good. I liked the fact that they offered to put a vinaigrette dressing on my salad base. I wish the protein pieces were a little larger though. The serving size was average, but if you're hungry I would definitely recommend getting the 5 protein bowl. Overall I would give this place 5 stars for the service (seriously, their employee makes a great first impression for them), and 4 stars for the poke bowl. We came here for a quick lunch and were very happy with our food. We ordered a poke bowl with 50/50 zucchini noddles and rice as well as a sushi burrito. We were able to customize everything ordered down to getting extra protein, combining sauces, and adding ingredients. For the poke bowl, I got spicy tuna and spicy salmon with all the veggies. It was delicious. I recommend sauce #2 with a drizzle of eel sauce. For the burrito, my husband loaded up with a couple extra scoops of protein and he combined sauce #2 with the spicy Mayo sauce. I felt like I had to try a specialty bowl, something they were known for. I was offered to try the 0-4 Tuna bowl. You have the option of choosing a base, I was trying to be healthy so I went with the brown rice. It comes with albacore, spicy tuna and regular tuna as the protein for their bowl. You can obviously tell them not to add items you don't want in there. But I wanted it just the way it comes. The quality and everything was good, and I enjoyed the bowl. Not that it matters, but I did feel like it was much more pricier than most places. I believe an average 3 to 3 1/2 star rating is right for Poke Cat as it falls into the industry's average. read more

Healthy option for food in a family friendly environment. The only recommendation is for them to switch to metal forks and spoons for the dine-in option, and to not automatically place plastic straws on the plate. Wow. this place is the best kept secret in Mission Viejo. Right next-door to my favorite nail salon, polish Avenue. This is a fresh sashimi sushi create it yourself bowl or seaweed sushi burrito. My favorite is the "best buddies "bowl with sushi rice and extra Poké sauce. My husband's favorite is the muddy buddies burrito with sushi rice and the goddess sauce :) check it out, I crave it now and have to hit it every time I get my nails done now.
