I was in the area and looking for somewhere to have lunch a Yelp search provided Kayuga and it sounded good. I am not from the area so I navigated to the strip mall location. Upon walking in I was greeted quickly. I stood at the counter and read the menus on the walls. It was an indecisive day for me so I stood there for a while. I decided on the tuna poké with sauces on the side. You could tell this was a family owned business (my favorite to support). It's clean and has about 6 tables. I sat and waited for my bowl. It didn't take long. It was very fresh and flavorful. I appreciate the sauces on the side so I could make it how I like it. It was filling and just what I needed on a hot day. I'm glad I stumbled upon this restaurant and if I'm in the area I would definitely come again.

I got the mixed poke bowl with brown rice. It was a bit pricey at about $25 including tax and tip, but I think it was the best poke bowl I've ever had. The fish and vegetables were cold and the rice was warm with had a good amount of sweet vinegar. Great balance and freshness to the dish overall. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant itself was small and clean. I will return.

Popcorn crawfish

Stopped by here on a weekday to grab lunch with my sister and we were really pleased with our lunch. Their menu is really extensive and everything sounded so good, but we were trying not to over do it. The service was nice, it is for sure a mom and pop shop, so definitely support them if you can! The price was also reasonable as well, which I appreciated. I can't remember the names of everything we got, but everything was really good. We for sure got the popcorn crawfish, which I liked. The crunch from the crawfish added a nice texture profile to the roll. Overall, the space was clean, with no frills. I would go back for sure! They did get pretty busy during the lunch hour, and I can tell that they have regulars who frequent the spot.

We ordered rolls and sashimi on New Year's Eve and had a great experience. This is a cute, family-run restaurant, and the owner was extremely welcoming and kind. The rolls are very affordable and generously made, and the sashimi was thick and fresh. the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back again.

Dragon, Salmon, Orange County and Crunch cut rolls
Jamie N.

Husband was interested in their buy 1 get 1 50% off any cut roll special. It was such a good deal we had to check it out. We arrived at opening so we virtually had the place to ourselves for the first hour before pick up orders and a few patrons started to trickle in. We got four rolls. Dragon & Orange Country rolls which were both a California base with different toppings. OC had masago while Dragon was the typical with avocado and eel. I chose really basic cut rolls since I love salmon and truly believe if a place has good buttery salmon, I would most likely return. My choice: - Salmon & Avocado - Crunch: crab meat, avocado, fried shrimp with crunch flakes While the price was appealing, the taste was lackluster. The crunch roll had a weird nutty aftertaste and the tempura flakes felt stale. It tasted like peanuts and it didn't quite complement the roll haha. The salmon was okay. Out of the four, the dragon roll was memorable, but it was the only one that was sauced. Overall, the meal was mid. While we left somewhat full, we didn't have any strong feelings about returning. Seemed like the bowls were more popular so maybe we give that a try next time.

Craving inexpensive sushi so was reeled in by the buy one get half off rolls. The discount is on the lesser priced rolls in your order. Quality is ok, tastes pretty good after all the sauces. Self serve water station. Several tables available inside for dine in.

Highly recommend! Peter was super helpful when ordering. He makes the rolls up front at counter. Very fresh and tasty. Got the baked scallop roll, honey roll, and yellowtail sashimi. So Yum! Got a bonus of Kaguya sushi. Ooh so good! Don't let the buy one get one 50% off all rolls fool you. This place is excellent! Plenty of seating inside for a quick bite or to go option. Very casual. Nice chill music.

Just found my new favorite spot for rolls, amazing! The service is wonderful, very kind and generous. Must try the Lemon drop!

Amazing sushi and ramen! They're fast in making the food and they're both so sweet I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you want really fresh and tasty sushi.

The sushi is soooo good! Very good quality! Specially the spicy avocado. They have very good deals and promotions too! The gentleman and the lady at the register were super kind. great service and cozy vibe! So happy I found a new go to sushi place in the neighborhood!

Poke salmon with Spicy Sauce
Maureen J.

This a clean, small, hole in the wall family owned business. I stopped by here to get a quick meal to eat. The customer service was great! They were super friendly and the worker provided me with a great recommendation. I got the salmon poke bowl with the spicy sauce option. It was delicious!!! I love spicy food and this bowl had a great balance of spice to the dish without overpowering it. I ate everything including the ginger, which I don't normally eat. It was probably one of the best poke bowls I've tried. I also got a green tea drink, which was a standard Arizona green tea. My meal was around $23 with tip. I will definitely come back here to try other dishes when I'm in the area.

The Best Weeknight Value in Mission Viejo: My New Favorite Roll…read more We've been coming to Samurai Sushi for years, and while it wasn't always my absolute first choice for high-end sushi, it has recently become our regular staple. Between the convenience of being the closest spot to our house and finding a new "go-to" menu item, it's hard to beat for a local family dinner. The "5-Star" Discovery: The Baja Roll I usually rate the general quality here around a 4/5, but I recently asked the server for his recommendation, and he pointed me toward the Baja Roll. That roll is a game-changer--a total 5/5. It's officially my new favorite, and having a specific "crave-able" roll has made me want to visit much more often. Perfect for the Weekly Family Routine If you have kids who happen to request sushi once a week, this is the most logical spot in Mission Viejo. Their combination meal allows you to choose three items and includes miso soup and a salad. It's the perfect way to feed the family without a massive bill. We try to stick to Monday through Thursday for the Buy One, Get One 1/2 Off deal. It's a huge draw for locals, so the restaurant is usually packed and lively on weeknights. The staff here is excellent; they are incredibly welcoming and get to know your face quickly, which adds a nice neighborhood feel to every visit. The Verdict The only reason I'm knocking off one star is that the dining area is a bit dated. I'd love to see the space get a little more "TLC" with some updates and a deeper cleaning. However, if you are looking for a budget-friendly, local weeknight choice that is fast and friendly, Samurai Sushi is a winner. Just do yourself a favor and order the Baja Roll!

I initially reached out about reserving a table for 40+ people during a basketball tournament weekend and was told the manager would contact me back. Sure enough, she called promptly to confirm everything for our Saturday dinner reservation. The entire process was seamless and incredibly easy, especially considering this was a larger-than-normal party. Taizy handled everything professionally. She seamlessly added the extra guests without hesitation. Her only request was that we send over everyone's food orders ahead of time so the kitchen could prepare and ensure nobody had to wait too long. And wow -- they absolutely delivered. Every single order came out accurately and in a very timely fashion. No mistakes, no confusion, and the service was impeccable from start to finish. The servers were organized, attentive, and handled a very large group with ease. Service was truly 10/10. One of the reasons I chose Kin Sushi for a large group dinner was because the menu truly has something for everyone -- udon, sushi rolls, vegetarian rolls, bento boxes, chirashi, sashimi, and something for everyone. They even had Thai iced tea, which isn't normally something in you have in a Japanese restaurant. Parking was very easy, which is always appreciated when coordinating a large party, and there's a restroom conveniently located in the back. I'm beyond grateful for how well they handled our group, and I would absolutely return here again for future team dinners or large gatherings. Highly recommend!

I've had lunch here twice now since my office is nearby, and after searching for the past year for a go-to spot, I can confidently say I've found it. The space is clean, welcoming, and comfortable, exactly what you want when you're stepping out for a quick but satisfying lunch. The food? Consistently delicious. The sashimi is fresh and clean, with that perfect melt-in-your-mouth quality. The chicken teriyaki is also very good, flavorful, tender, and generously portioned. And the lunch combo is the real standout: about $14 gets you your entrée plus miso soup, salad, and rice. In this area, that price simply can't be beat. On top of that, sushi chef Luke is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Great service makes a big difference, and he absolutely delivers. That said, I'm not complaining: as a sushi spot in America that caters to Western tastes, this place hits. Some of my favorite rolls are the Bella, the Mission Viejo, and the Seared Tuna roll. One minor area for improvement is to-go orders. They seem to get very busy, and there could be better predictability around wait times. The order processing for peak hours (6pm on a Saturday) was about an hour, but on my most recent visit, my pickup order was delayed by about 30 minutes, pushing it to 90 minutes. It was frustrating for me, but I think it can be even more frustrating for Door Dash drivers since they're paid per delivery and long, unexpected waits can throw off their entire queue and earnings for the night. I do want to commend their customer service, though. They have always been great dining in, but this time, they could tell people were frustrated and genuinely tried to reshuffle orders and adjust priorities. Overall, improving order flow and wait-time forecasting would make a noticeable difference!

The cucumber salad was plain and lacked dressing, the tempura was decent, and the soft shell crab was tasty with a small side salad with sesame dressing that was actually the best part.
