    Big bowl :)

Always a treat getting Pokesan when I'm in KC :) I love their friendly service and the vibes are cute. I did end up taking my food to to go but I have eaten there before and it's nice! They stuff the bowls to the max and are happy to do any customizations; for me I like my sauce on the side and it was an easy accommodation. The food is fresh and feels so healthy. Their prices seem a bit higher but honestly for what you get it's so worth it - also mine was probs more expensive cause I wanted to add on a few extras :P Thanks for a filling lunch, Pokesan! Eating a 4/5 cause it's great but it doesn't blow my mind.

Stopped in for some food before walking across the street to see a show at Record Bar last weekend. Located up 2 sets of steep staircases, including one with a handrail that was almost falling off so enter at your own risk. It's very wise that they do not serve alcohol! The menu is provided with a marker to select what you want to order and to select what ingredients you desire when building a poke bowl - base, protein, mix-ins, sauces, and toppings. My cooked chicken and raw tuna on a bed of rice with 3 mix-ins ( avocado, mango and red onions) were then topped with cilantro, green onions, pickled ginger, crispy onions and tempura flakes with a sweet ginger sauce. Delicious. At $13.38 + $6 for a Vietnamese iced coffee made it a quasi-economical light dinner. I'd do it again.

Cute little place that has amazing poke bowls! I loved how you get to pick everything that goes in your bowl. The people working there were very friendly and we got our food fast. Highly recommend for lunch!

I was only going to eat half my food and save the rest for later but my Poke was so good, I ate the whole thing. My food came out fast. Plenty of seating in the restaurant. The only thing is, the location is a little tricky to find and it doesn't appear to be handicap accessible. I would definitely come back here the next time I'm in town.

First time trying this place. Not sure if I'll return. I think there's better poke places in town. Our pokebowls were more like pokesoup. Pros: Clean place with a nice ambiance. Music is not too loud. The bowls offer a lot of topping options, sauces and proteins. You can add 5 toppings and up to 3 sauces without paying extra. The standard bowl let's you pick 2 proteins. I believe their largest allows 4. The bowls are flavorful and will make for a decent Instagram pic. Cons: The pokebowls are served in to go containers that are very small. The portion just isn't great for the price. Also makes it difficult to mix the ingredients if you load it up. QZ gives a much bigger bowl that's a better value. They overloaded our bowls with so much sauce that it was basically soup at the bottom. We had to ask for more rice which the lady was nice enough to give us. This helped make the bowl feel much more balanced but I don't think this would be an issue if they just used a bigger bowl that allows them to give us more base. We also got fried dumplings for appetizers. Not great though. Thought they were pan fried but these were fried fried. Just a little too crispy for my liking and made it tough to enjoy the pork on the inside. They're also much more difficult to pick up with chop sticks due to how hard the exterior is. In summary, it's ok but not worth the 40 bucks we spent.

Got the small bowl with spicy tuna it is so fresh! 10/10 would recommend great ambience and quick service

The biggest issue is the restaurant and seating is on the 2nd floor with no obvious sign of accessibility accommodations. The service was great and friendly, also very quick! The food was of high quality and taste. I personally loved the shrimp dumplings, others in my party wanted a little more chili. The poke fries were AMAZING! The iced tea was not good, very watered down. Overall the food and experience was good! I would have preferred a real bowl for dining in because it was difficult to not make a mess when we got our bowls (I appreciated the amount of food they give you!). Beyond the bowl thing and not being accessible for those unable to navigate stairs, it was a great find with great food!

Really enjoyed my visit. First, we were greeted by a wonderful hostess who explained the menu and ordering for us. Had the fried wontons and a poke bowl. Food came very quickly. Wontons were filled with crab. The filling wasn't real sweet, but it was tasty and the sauce added some sweetness. Cooked really well. The poke bowl was hands down one of the best I've ever had. While I saw some comments that the portions were small, I didn't experience that. I had the small and was completely full when I was done. There are plenty of ingredients, so don't short yourself. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. The whole thing had great flavor and incredibly tasty. Overall a great visit. I'll definitely be going back.

I was visiting KC and stumble across Pokesan and it was AMAZING and FRESH! I'd recommend for lunch during the week it's a nice calm vibe, service was fast and did I mention the food was DELICIOUS!

My first time trying a poke bowl and it was great!! They definitely set the bar high for other places for me. Great options, everything thing was fresh, sauces were amazing as well. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

I had Spicy BBQ Pork & Rice Cakes for my entree and asked for it to be extra spicy, a menu option, but found it rather bland, it lacked any of big bold character that I usually associate with Korean, however my experience with Korean food is rather limited especially compared to other Asian cuisines so I'll be reserving judgement on that dish. Overall great place to be, the service was top notch, and those Crab Rangoon and KFC wings were amongst the finest examples I have had of those items. We came in for lunch and ordered the bibimbop with spicy pork, hot tea, and spicy tofu soup. The bibimbop with spicy pork was flavorful and hearty. The spicy tofu soup came hot, was filling and came with a side of rice. The hot tea was comforting and soothing on the stomach, but scalding when first served. Nice interior with a skylight and greenery. There was an older movie playing on the side that was entertaining. Prices are on the higher end for the dishes offered, but with the small Asian population in the area it's understandable and the flavors were good. Would recommmend.

Despite being located in a kid-centric mall, they don't have a kids menu. You used to be able to get a kids quesadilla and fries, but no longer. Instead you have to piece things together, with a semblance of half service and half "do it yourself," and the tables and chains looked like Chuck E. Cheese at closing time. When I was ordering a lemonade, I asked if I could get half lemonade, and the other half iced tea. They didn't understand, so I emphasized, half lemonade, half tea, and they then flatly told me, "We're going to give you a lemonade, and there's tea over there, so you can figure it out." The food came out piping hot and with the right amount of flavor. The chicken fingers had a great flavor, which complimented well with the honey Dijon mustard. The cheese curds were super cheesy and as long as you ate them right away as with any cheese curds it didn't stiffen up! Per my friend the queso was creamy, her reaction to the full portion coming out was priceless but I couldn't capture that here lol. It came with both tortilla chips and soft flour tortillas. I'd probably leave off the soft flour tortillas because those don't really fit with the idea of dipping into the queso. She asked if I'd be OK with with a slight up charge. I agreed because usually that means about $1-$2 extra. But when we got our bill, a "slight up charge" for a little sauce was $6! I thought there must've been a mistake, as their idea of "slight up charge" became the price of a whole other enchilada with sauce! Server said "Well, that was a half order of sauce." I reminded her I hadn't asked for a half order of sauce, and that it might be wise to be clear with patrons about what a "small up charge" means. She said she couldn't help me, and sent a very unpleasant and irritated manager (or owner?) to the table. I explained the situation and she was adamant that she wouldn't do anything about it because I got a half order. I again said I hadn't asked for a half order; I asked for a little extra for my 3 dry enchiladas. She continued to be argumentative, and wasn't going to do anything for me. I said "I don't think you'll like the review I'm going to post on YELP" as she was walking away. Then she turned back and angrily adjusted the price. I hadn't been to Manny's in probably 25 years. I texted a former KC local friend of mine and he said go the ice cream route. I eventually settled on the Goat cheese, apricot and candied walnut with the Chantilly cake in one of their homemade waffle cones. I was expecting the Goat cheese flavor would be the standout but the Chantilly cake with the berries was slightly better; the goat cheese was a little too rich. The ice cream was a little softer than I expected and with the soft waffle made it a bit messier than it should have been.
