Stopped by here for poke. One star only for the nice girl working the register. As for the poke it's a huge bowl with 75% rice, some greens and some kind of pasta salad which was the oddest thing I've ever had in a poke bowl. Clearly the play is to overload on everything but the fish. They also charge extra for basic things like crispy onions which I have never seen in any poke place I have tried. How does San Clemente not have a good fast casual poke place??? Seems like a great business opportunity. read more

Delicious, clean safe, BIG PORTIONS!!! I was on a staycation with my roomie getting away from LA for a day and stumbled upon this little gem!! I called seriously like every sushi place in town and they had hour or multi hour waits for takeout and were all extremely rude. I called this lovely place and was happily greeted, my wait time was only 20 mins. Not to mention it's extremely affordable! It was like 36$ for 3 rolls (10 pieces per) spicy edamame and gyoza. Absolute hidden gem. Oh my gosh! Ate plate after plate - each one better than the last. The star of the show though is the HR 808 specialty hand roll. So delicious. We ordered the salmon poke plate, a spicy tuna roll, and udon soup. The salmon in the poke plate was half cooked, pale, and unseasoned. It looked bad and tasted bad. The fish was far from fresh We asked for a couple toppings and got very few pieces of any topping The rice was clumpy and soggy, the soybeans were not fresh and looked old The macaroni salad had zero flavor The tuna on the spicy tuna roll didn't look very fresh, but looked better than the salmon. Came here on a Friday evening and although the place was busy, there were tables outside still open and we were quickly seated. We ordered the poke and miso soups. You can choose up to 3 different types of fish for the 3 ounce portion. I chose salmon and octopus. The poke comes on a bed of rice with a side salad and macaroni salad. I was pleasantly surprised with how much food it was. I also liked the many sauce options. I chose the basic sesame oil which was perfect. Not too overwhelming. Sorry to say that this place was a major disappointment. They really need to update they're Yelp status and photos as well as website. Took a date here who is a big Sushi lover and reserved a table for inside. I've been to this place before even when it was a Jamaican restaurant years ago so I understand how small it is inside. But they did not tell us that the inside has been converted to just a pickup spot and that there's no tables in there to eat at. My date had worn a pretty slim dress and we had to eat outside on a wooden picnic table shaped as a surfboard for our date. Not cool. They're Limited selection of sake is overpriced and the sushi is just bad. Under no circumstances should a sushi bar ever serve sushi of any kind out of paper plates or paper bowls let alone plastic picnic where to eat with. Come on now. It was a bit embarrassing. Sorry to have gone negative. I don't like doing it but this place was hardly redeemable. I hope it get better. read more

I really love this restaurant because they are so friendly here and they create a awesome roll especially if you're looking for a place that is pretty affordable and has a great community base. Most of the workers are always nice and make you feel extremely welcomed, the girl April that works here is very nice as well as she always comes to check on you throughout your process! Some crews I feel are better than others.. some workers don't meet the same standards as April who is very attentive and phenomenal at her job. She makes this little hole in the wall restaurant a five star spot! They also have a nice hallway to sit in which is very cool and dog friendly! Also just good vibes on the patio!! The crunch rolls, garlic edamame, and the Ramen is sooo good! Fried gyozas are also a hit!! This place is a great spot!! read more

I have been wanting to try this hole in the wall for years, and I am so glad I did a month ago! This place is definitely an authentic Hawaiian style poke joint, and it amazing. The fish tasted so fresh, and same with the avocado. Their macaroni salad slapped and had so much flavor! Their bowls were huge and never left me wanting more after I finished. I have been back three times since i first tried it a month ago lol. I will for sure be spending most of my days there this summer! read more
