This is an update since my last updated review was back in 2019 when I was working nearby like one building over and now i'm a bit far away. Stop by next door to get my nails done for a wedding and decided I had some time to kill before my next meeting so I stop by. Keep in mind this was after the lunch rush so plenty of seating and no wait time i got in around 2;53pm and was pretty happy to be seated right away. I was hungry and I missed eating here, prices were still affordable and delicious. My meal came out to be less than $25 and yes, that is with tip. I ordered an appetizer of Shrimp and Vegetable tempura, coke and a shrimp & veggies tempura udon. Perfect combo on a gloomy day, and honestly, I need to head here more often. I did past by the other day right before 6pm and there were people waiting outside for a table so it's a great spot. I'm telling you guys, its the go to place in SC. Very unassuming sushi spot tucked in a plaza. If you are coming here for dinner, be prepared to wait. My group of 3 came around 6pm and waited close to 25 minutes for a table. It does feel a little cramped inside but they do their best to accommodate as many diners as they can. The two servers were running around and being efficient and attentive as possible which I recognized and appreciated. Looking at the menu, they have a variety of sushi rolls and other non-fish options such as udon and teriyaki plates. Also, I felt like I was transported to pre-2010 days with the prices. Never seen a menu with prices under $15 for everything and $3.50 for a handroll? It's no wonder why this place is poppin. To be honest, while the fish quality is not stellar, it still tastes good and flavors are satisfying. Plus considering the price, you can't expect to have 5 star cuts. I would recommend the tataki special roll (spicy tuna with seared cajun tuna on top) and the baked salmon roll (CA roll with baked salmon eel sauce on top), these two were my favs. I would recommend! read more

This is a nice little sushi spot in San Juan Capistrano with a decent amount of parking out front. Inside is a mom and pop vibe with some decorations like a few pieces of art and a large surfboard hanging on the back wall. The spicy tuna cut roll was a notch spicier than I expected with a just a tad too much of a siracha taste but I still ate it all up and enjoyed my food a lot, especially paired with other rolls to counterbalance. The salmon and yellowtail were absolutely delicious and the fish really shined in those cut rolls! Prices were also very reasonable and I feel like I got to try a lot because the sizes weren't too big and the price point made it easy to get multiple rolls. Edamame was also a nice addition to the meal and definitely didn't break the bank. I'm always so happy when I feel like I can really get to know a sushi menu on my first visit, and then come back for more when I'm certain the quality is good. This place has straightforward sushi that will hit the craving just right. It was very popular when we went and it makes me happy that good establishments like this one are doing well. I'd love to stop here again some time if I'm in the area! They were really efficient at serving us even though it was busy. Really glad we stopped here on a whim. The area seems really nice and it wasn't too far off the freeway either. read more

I tried Full Moon Sushi for the first time and WOW... I'm obsessed. I ordered two spicy tuna rolls and they were absolutely amazing -- super fresh, perfect texture, and honestly some of the best I've had in SoCal. The seafood tasted incredibly clean and fresh, and even the salad (which didn't look like anything special at first) ended up being freaking amazing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again! The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and has such a calming vibe. The service could be a little more organized, but the food completely made up for it. Everything came out tasting like pure fire I already know I'll be making more trips up to San Clemente just for this spot. I absolutely LOVED it! read more

Full Moon has been and continues to be a fave. Pricing is always lower than everywhere else. This translates to a smaller selection of offerings but that it allows for consistency across the menu. The food is always excellent with service from Yugi that was, as always, outstanding, even when slammed like last night. The place is always popular and full with a lot of takeout customers, since it is a very local place to a lot of residential areas. This translates sometimes to a pretty noisy but friendly environment. read more

I stopped in for lunch and was very pleasantly surprised! It's a very casual restaurant that seems to me to be out of the way and a bit hidden. However, I found the service,especially the sushi chef, to be quite good! The best sushi deal in town! Rolls are delicious and at a great price. Place is always busy during peak hours, so plan accordingly! Ok I absolutely love this place!!! I got a sushi sashimi combo and it was delicious, the fish-especially the salmon was super fresh. My combo came with miso soup, salad and a small bowl of rice. As always, a great meal. My "plain udon" was not plain at all. Very good. The vegetable roll was pleasantly tasty with avocado, sprouts, cucumber, and pickled Japanese vegetable. The Hawaiian roll was delicious and baked scallop was on point (wish it was a bit larger in size though :() ) Service is good, quick and easy. Even on a crowded night, they don't rush you at all. It was OK. The sushi was fine enough, but the rolls with eel sauce were terrible. The sauce tasted salty, like it had a soy sauce base, and was not sweet at all. Bummed, they have good prices but we won't be back. read more

This is only our second visit here . We were very pleased with what we ordered . The tempura is done perfectly in our opinion. The miso soup is delicious. The rolls we had were delicious as well . The cost of the meals is surprisingly affordable. We only did takeout so I can't comment on the service , but the employees we encountered were very nice and polite.
