New poke spot down the street and had to try with my best friend. It was empty no other customers so we ordered 2 large poke bowls with pretty much the same things in it and a large sodas. Very quiet inside could hear a pin drop . Plenty to eat but not sure how fresh it is as it could have been sitting there all day . I felt it was okay but there are so much better poke places in town.

2 scoops ahi tuna pokē bowl.

We still ended up getting multiple different kinds of poke to try. My guy and I both agreed the poke was good and the quality was fresh, but it really wasn't anything special. I also thought the sauce to fish ratio was off (too much sauce); my guy agreed but doesn't mind it as much as I do. I don't know what it is, but it is just missing that special something to truly make it special poke. I'd eat it again if I was there, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

It was a dark and stormy night (in San Diegan it means a drizzly, low 60s, late evening) and we…read morecraved sushi. We tripped the light fantastic the night before, so a mellow night hits just right. We started off with some hot sake to sip on while we discuss our future adventures. Nothing like a little warmth in your belly to persuade you to grab your passport & head to the airport! As we narrow down the continents, round one arrives: Red Dragon Roll & Salmon Nigiri. The Red Dragon was tasty enough to melt even the Night King's heart! Arya Stark would approve. The Salmon Nigiri was delicious (totally loving raw salmon now). My girlfriend definitely gets me! After deciding on our home turf (México, to my faithful readers), the OMG Roll arrives. And OMG, was it spicy deliciousness, kind of like my lovely globe trotting companion sitting beside me! Shockingly, we had leftovers! We enjoyed a nice walk home, gazing into each other's eyes & wondering why our paths had never crossed living so close. Kismet! An age old adage confirmed: When you are ready, love arrives. No sooner. Sometimes the most precious people are right under our very noses! That reminds me, gotta scan my passport! I called in and explained how I could not place the order online and if I could place my order through the phone and still use the promo code for a discount. The lady on the phone was helpful and said when I come in I could tell them what the code was and they would apply it to my order. However, when I went in to pick up my order & explained the situation the lady who helped me on the phone was not there and it was somebody else. She didn't know how to help so she called the owner to verify. She told me they were unable to apply the discount since it was through Chow Now and not directly through them. The waitress even over heard the situation and said she remembers the previous lady who answered my phone call say that they would allow it. But she still wouldn't even try to understand the situation and just kept saying she couldn't. Overall, it was a weird experience and not worth arguing about. I usually like this place but I'd prefer to take my business elsewhere.
