At this branch, there is only one staff member, regardless of whether it's busy or quiet. She handles everything--preparing orders, assisting customers, and taking orders. She is extremely professional, friendly, and patient, even while managing everything alone. Big shout-out to her. One last downside: for some reason, napkins, spoons, and straws are unavailable 99% of the time. They are only brought out from behind the counter when an order is ready, and then taken back again, so you always have to ask for them. It's the perfect hot day sweet treat that you could enjoy without feeling the guilt because it's "healthier". I get everything in mine and have already gone back once for another hit a week later. I used their order ahead option in their app and it's seamless pickup.

Da Kindz Island Grill - membrane in the pork - it was fine for me but heads up to those who have a texture thing

I was in town for a visit and had this place on my list because of the reviews. Saw that they…read moreclosed at 6 so I made sure to go by over an hour earlier than that and when I pulled up, the window covers were locked up and they were cleaning up for the night. Luckily I was still in the area the next day so I showed up at 1pm and lucked out with all the other patrons getting their food by the time I walked up to the window. The lady inside wasn't paying attention to the front so she didn't turn around and look up from her phone until one of the patrons asked if he could jump in front of me to ask for a sauce. I ordered a poke bowl, a spicy garlic shrimp bowl, and a small pork fries, which came out to about $60 after tax and tip. I then waited for about 25 minutes for my food. Now the food itself - honestly? It was quite bad. Bad enough that I think the folks giving it 5 stars are ones who think pepper is spicy and adding a seasoning besides salt is doing something. I could barely take more than a few bites of the poke before I was hit with that fishy taste you get from thawing out frozen filets not meant to be eaten raw. Maybe they can ask some of the other poke spots where they source their ahi because theirs don't give off that ocean aroma. The pork fries would have been good if the fries weren't dripping in oil - they were soaked in it as if they put the fries in oil that wasn't hot yet (either that or they re-fried previously fried fries). Either way, I picked off the pork and ate that, even the gelatinous membrane that was in there too. Now you really can't mess up garlic shrimp.. or can you? The shrimp itself was well cooked and tender. The sauce was VERY salty (maybe some unsalted butter could solve this?) and they were pretty light handed with the garlic, which is disappointing when you're expecting an island style serving of GARLIC shrimp. And what was with the rice? It was cooked with so much water or milk that it was basically eating porridge. Disappointing is probably the best way I can describe this. Maybe this is the best Hawaiian food in Sequim but drive a little out of town and you can do so much better.

This is the kind of place that always confuses me. It makes me wonder - did they take a trip to…read moreHawaii, eat good food and now decide to go back to their hometown and recreate it. On behalf of all the plate lunch places working hard in the 808 I gotta say this - PLEASE REPRESENT HAWAII BETTER. If you're gonna market it as a "Hawaiian island grill" place, please put in more effort, check out recipes and learn a little bit more. We do not cook this way. The chicken katsu had some kind of weird "crust" on top of it and it was served with two odd-tasting cocktail-like sauces. The butter garlic shrimp had no butter on it and raw garlic sprinkled on top like garnish along with loads of furikake. On the plus side, the eating area was clean. There was lots of parking. Mahalo for that.
