We received about a cup of fried cubes of eggplant with some uncooked cashews thrown on top. I think the promised homemade soy was supposed to form the caramel, but it was MIA. We both tried the Sautéed Thai Basil. My dining companion ordered hers with chicken and not spicy. It was a meh for her and thought the chicken was overcooked to the point of being tough and rubbery. I ordered my meal with tofu and spicy. It was good; spicy enough that I sniffled but not so spicy that I teared up. The tofu seemed like it had probably been marinated and had a nice texture. Service was pleasant enough but not especially attentive. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and was attractively decorated. All in all, Single Fin Thai Sushi rates as a low 3-star restaurant, mainly because of the preparation of my tofu. In fairness, the OBX is not a hotbed for Thai or any other Asian food, so I'm grateful that it's an option.

Very flavorful. Everyone in our party of 5 was quite pleased with their meals. Our 10-year old granddaughter loved the fries and chose an appetizer chicken wings for her entree. Each seafood item was perfectly prepared. With fries and coleslaw, it was more than we could finish. He added a side salad which was very fresh and I had creamy clam chowder (good but not as hot as ai prefer.) While the sunset views are blocked by Jockeys Ridge across the street, they do have a nice covered deck up top with nice views. They also have several bars and the main level dining room. The food was excellent and whether broiled or fried, nothing was greasy. Dare I say it, I think Mulligan's hush puppies are better than another restaurant nearby that claims theirs are famous. The crab cakes, shrimp and flounder were delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was top notch. Since we had a late lunch that afternoon, we did not get an appetizer or a dessert but I do want to return and I will be sure to save room next time.

Despite the long wait, there was very little communication or explanation from the staff about the delay. After waiting all that time, we were eventually told that our food had been burnt and had to be remade multiple times. Unfortunately, we never received our meals at all. Spending nearly an hour and a half waiting only to leave without being served is completely unacceptable. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the lack of communication, poor kitchen management, and failure to resolve the situation made this a very frustrating experience. I hope management takes steps to improve their service so other customers do not have a similar experience.
