They don't seem to get as much attention as some other poutine places, but don't sleep on this experience. For their price, it is a lot of food, one large serving of their 19$ grilled chicken with sausage and poutine is a great meal that will last you the entire day, it was more than enough for two. They debone two legs of chicken on top of the poutine that they pulled fresh off their grill! Service was fast, there is plenty of room to eat at the restaurant and they have a separate counter for the pastries. We had to get some of their Portuguese tarts (10$ for 6) and they were also amazing. Creamy, custardy, perfectly baked. It reheated well in the air fryer when we brought some back as souvenirs to enjoy. This is a place worth stopping by in Montreal, poutine in one hand and a batch of tarts for dessert on the other.

A bounty of food comes with your half chicken and fries!…read more The "golden row" of chicken twisting and turning while cooking definitely generates much anticipation. I'll say half of the 1/2 chicken I ordered was definitely moist and tender, while the other side was a bit dried out. The fat from the skin was nonexistent, so not much flavor other than the sauce that coated the exterior of the chicken. While there was an abundance of fries, which covered every inch of the paper box, sadly they were neither crunchy nor crisp. This was right after opening my box after I paid for my order. I also got the chicken sandwich which was juicer even if it was less majestic than the 1/2 chicken. The flan dessert was somewhat forgettable, I left half of it behind. There was a line up to order but it moved well. There is seating inside however the tables and chairs were in need of a good wipe down.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Casual Korean eatery. Great combos…read morewith lots of variety. Everything was tasty. The Long Version: My husband and I went here for lunch. I got the fried chicken combo ($16.99) and my husband got the beef combo ($16.99). We requested no sesame seeds for our food and they accommodated by not sprinkling sesame seeds on the rice, japchae or beef, but they forgot that one of the fried chicken sauces has sesame seeds in it, so I had to give my husband that piece. We were going to share anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The Fried Chicken Combo came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, each one a different flavour: original, sweet and spicy, and soy garlic. The sweet and spicy sauce has sesame seeds in it. Since I can't eat sesame seeds but can tolerate slight contamination, I didn't bring it up and just gave that piece to my husband. Although in retrospect I should have alerted them for them to be more aware for someone else who might have a more severe issue. Both combos came with japchae, rice, 2 dumplings, and coleslaw. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was great. I liked both the original and the soy garlic. Hubby liked the sweet and spicy. The beef was tender and flavourful. And I liked that it was lean meat and not gristly. The dumplings were deep-fried and had pork and vegetables in it. The rice was nicely steamed and slightly sticky which I liked. The japchae was flavourful and had shiitake mushrooms, carrots, bell peppers and onions in it. It was little too oily for my preference, but I still enjoyed it. The combos also came with a can of soda or a bottle of water. My husband got a Coca Cola and I got a bottle of water, which I took to go to drink during my shopping adventures after lunch, since we were given tap water with our meal. Service was courteous and efficient. Lots of indoor seating with televisions playing K-pop music videos in the dining room. The restaurant is down a flight of stairs, so might be a problem for those with mobility issues. Review #18 (2025)

Considering it was a Sunday, I found that to be quite impressive and a testament to the restaurant. The food was piping hot. So hot I couldn't even bite into it for fear of burning my mouth! I took the time to enjoy the fries which were quite enjoyable - crunchy and tasty. Also, in comparison to other restaurants... the chicken pieces were HUGE! You're very much getting your money's worth in that regards. When it had finally cooled down enough to eat... it was good. It didn't live up to the hype I was given before going in, but it was definitely enjoyable. The fried covering was crunchy and very tasty without it being overly oily. The coleslaw was different than what I've tasted before but after an intriguing first few bites found myself happily digging in. The biscuits were perfect: harder shell with a wonderful hot and soft interior :) I look forward to another visit to compare against this first visit.

recently in the news it was revealed that many franchise owners were suing the Popeyes franchise…read morefor changing the method of butchering the chickens. They claim the chickens are no longer Halal method because the major arteries are no longer cut and the blood drained, which is required for being certified Halal. They claim most of their customers are Islams and they are losing them causing financial harm. The last time I was there the claim seemed to be true as I noticed the blood vessels in the dark meet were indeed full of blood and the taste had changed, not in a good way. I'm not saying it's not safe to eat as it is well cooked but I did notice the centre of the leg was all red and the taste was different from the outside. My solution: I bought an air fryer and some hot sauce. It's a shame as I loved their chicken before they changed. Mr. Wontbe Back
