My sister was trying the ramen dog and mozzarella/hot dog. I didn't enjoy the line up in the cold, my toes were super frozen. The service is average; they rush you to make your choice. After receiving the corn dogs; you hope to find a warm place to try them. We went inside the metro to eat them. They are delicious, but since it's deep fried, you feel the heaviness of it in your belly. I was happy to try them but the experience to get them and eating them somewhere warm was horrendous.

I went on their second day of being open and for the ramen hot dog and the Gamsung hotdog (mozzarella cheese deep fried with pieces of French fried potatoes on top). Both were delicious but my favourite was definitely the ramen, it was so crunchy. You order on the right hand side of the restaurant and then wait in the line on the left hand side to receive your food (pay attention to your number as they will call it out to let you in the restaurant to pick up). Once you pick up your order you have a choice of 8 sauces. My server put a bit too much so I say less is more when it comes to sauces. They have a menu on the side with their recommendations of sauce to put on which Kogo. You also don't want to overwhelm the Kogo with too much sauce because there's so much to taste already. I put spicy mayo, mayo, and honey mustard on both of my Kogos and it was too much. The sauces were good but it just got too much. If you want to put more than one sauce, ask the server to only put a little. My friend got the volcano with chill sauce and recommends that one. He also got the ramen hot dog with spicy mayo and he said it was a bad pairing, he thought the spicy mayo would've been good on another hot dog. I also got the pineapple juice and it was pretty good! A bit ordinary but good to pair with your meal. Prices are around 4.99-6.99 per Kogo so not cheap but they are loaded so it's worth it. Lines seem long but it goes by quickly.

Food was good overall. We went for a grilled cheese, vegetarian burger (both combos) and a veggie pogo. Liked all three. Fries were good. O-Juice was nice but felt a bit sugary than sour. Portions were good and it didn't feel heavy. All their meals are given in takeout brown bags - no trays, plates etc. They don't have any indoor seating options but there are standing counters. There are a couple of benches outside if the weather permits. Many folks just got the food to their cars and ate them there. Staff was nice. Given it was our first time, we had a few questions which they answered well. Plenty of parking outside. Definitely recommended.

This was one of them - although I grew up around Montreal, I had never visited until my 40's, when my Boyfriend (who is forever amused by the number of local "landmarks" I haven't been to) took it upon himself to take me to Orange Julep. Super impressed by the food! I'm picky about fries, but I loved theirs - greasy & tasty - and I love that their hot dogs have toasted buns. First time having an orange julep drink as well, and I'm hooked! 5/5 for super satisfying junk food, sorry mom! Service is meh, and in summer, parking lot is literally SWARMING with wasps, attracted by spilled orange julep all over the ground, and by the trash cans. *Don't park near the trash cans*... and that's another thing, I'm not a fan of eating in my car. At all. But where else to hide from the feral wasps???

From the unique table designs to the imagery on the walls, reminded me of Friendly's back home. I ordered a french onion soup which was probably not the best move as we were trying to have a quick lunch, oops. I shared it and we used the excess broth for dunking our sandwich's in. Very tasty soup. Came out hot but cooled quick. Club sandwich was enjoyable. Would have been better probably on the bagel as the sandwich bread didn't quite hold well together with all the fixings in it. Overall a place I would recommend. Bathroom is not accessible as kt is down a large flight of stairs so be cautious with that.

Also the tables along the center of the restaurant are adjacent to another table, you can turn your head and see you neighbor maybe 6 in away from your face. Our server was good. We ordered and got our food quickly. We ordered a French onion soup, poutine and a montreal smoked meat club. The soup was pretty good, had a nice cheese top. The poutine was a nice portion to share. And the club had a good amount of meat in it. Apparently they say they're known for their cheesecake, we tried a slice. The cheesecake was rich and decadent and it was topped with the a strawberry sauce. This cheesecake didn't have a crust. Definitely good to share. Price point is good for this establishment. Seems like a family friendly sports bar.

So..... "We're gonna grab steamies. How many do you want"? yells out a couple of Canadian poker buds. "IDK several or a dozen" I yell back from the restroom of the hotel room thinking I heard 'wennies' as in small sausages. 30 minutes later, uncontrolled laughter as they hand me a huge bag. "Here's your dozen". * * * * * * A Montreal institution that for 94 years has focused on one thing, steamies. Take a Shopsy's slender seven incher, warm it and stick it in a smaller than the States side ball park bun, slather it with whatever, maybe top it with a heaping pile of vinegary coleslaw and there you have it. The hotdog, not natural (nitrates and phosphates). No one said this was health food. Here's the thing, meaning no disrespect to those who grew up with these doggies but they are just hotdogs. Love the addition of the slaw but still just hotdogs. Inexpensive. $2.50 - $3.50 each. Great counter service. Nuff said.

The restaurant is very small and more of a take out counter, with no seating, there is also a drive through. Note they take cash only, there are ATMs on site. We ordered 2 types of hot dogs and a poutine - the hot dogs were good, michigan sauce could have been more flavorful, it was lacking some sweetness. Poutine was a disappointment - the fries were not salted and sauce also lacked some flavor. It was thin and runny, closer to a BBQ type of sauce like St-Hubert style rather than the thick brown gravy. I found everything could have used more flavor. There is only 1 size poutine and it was on the small size. Considering this is some type of historical institution that's been around since 1929, I expected to be charmed but the food was very average and on the expensive side.
