Got a large and it was almost $18. The size was so underwhelming I was cringing swiping my card. There was nothing really special about this place. I've been to many poke places like this and they all pretty much taste the same to me except this one was way more expensive in my opinion. Meh is all I have to say. A poke bowl here is pretty expensive for what you get and the poke is just okay. It will satisfy your poke craving if you really really need a fix.
On this Saturday I was feeling adventurous, and felt like trying something new. This was when the following exchange happened between my Dad and I: My Dad asked, "Why not some poke?" I replied, "Uh what, like Pokémon?" After recovering from laughter he smiled and showed me the menu from Yelp and I'll be honest I was curious so I dug in. Seeing all of the various dishes, combinations, and perspectives had me interested in what was so special about this place. As luck would have it I took a throw of the dice and tried it, where I was not expecting an explosion of flavor as I had experienced; going from eating fish and chips I would have never dreamed of eating fish raw, which to my surprise was quite good. The first bite I was a bit skeptical, as the texture was a bit out of the norm, though a few bites later my skepticism turned into enjoyment. My Dad and I had the large bowls (mine had OG salmon, spicy tuna, albacore, and shrimp). The spiciness of the tuna gave a nice lingering flavor, paired well with the sweetness of the pineapple and the rice. For the first time having Poké, I will admit you turned a skeptic into a believer, now I want to taste other combinations! Great location and service, if you want to try some Poké or are a fanatic, I highly recommend this location!
Overall the space is cute but for the price I've had better poke. I ordered a medium and it really wasn't worth it. The cucumber I added had a bad after taste. Maybe it's just the flavors or sauce I chose but i didn't really like it.
Wowza! The new happy hour is 10% off + free miso soup from 2:30pm to close. + ample parking + friendly staff + fresh fish and lots of toppings Not unique but good a solid poke joint.
This may be my new favorite poke place. First of all when you walk in it's spotless. It's perfectly easy to understand where and what to order. The staff was really nice and great recommending different sauces (I like it really spicy). Fish taste deliciously fresh and I love the combination that they made with OG tuna and the OG salmon. They have more sauce choices than any other poke place that I have been to. They also carry a unique fountain cola called Stubborn Soda but have bottles of Pepsi if you prefer that. I will definitely be back. I'm really impressed and although my mouth is on fire (as requested!) I am so happy.
If you wish to have health meal for once, poke is the way to go. I don't know about over-consuming raw fish, but once-in-a-while indulgence is understandable. You would get into a line, looking at the options through the glass, and picking and choosing your own poke meal. I always order a small plate because I swear it always fills me up. Albacore and octopus are my favorites protein so far. I am not a big fan of spicy food, so spicy tuna isn't my first choice. Sashimi added to the protein is a plus. Brown rice, please. Every type of vegetable EXCEPT for adamane and jalapeño will go on my plate. I would choose ginger, cucumber salad, and seaweed salad. However, the seaweed salad at this location is always OUT every time I am there. Whenever I don't go there, my coworkers always let me know seaweed salad is actually available. Perhaps, it's not meant to be! Haha! Finally, I'll just ask for a bit of dried and crunchy onions to top off my poke meal. Overall, I find this poke place easy to order with the step-by-step menu to let you know which items would go on with which items. It's definitely expensive, but you know you're paying for raw fish. It's definitely worth the craving at times.
My go-to spot for poke in the Renton/Kent area! My random 2 cents: Parking lot is small, but finding a spot has never been an issue. The selection of toppings isn't as expansive as some other places I've been, but all of the ingredients are very fresh and the prices are great. The stamp card is also a great perk if you're in the area and love poke like me! Weekday happy hour is also an awesome bonus that'll give you more bang for your buck. There are also tons of sauce options/combos but I wish there was a happy medium if you want something creamy and not too spicy. (Spicy mayo is their only creamy sauce option, and it's kind of really spicy if you don't have a high tolerance for spiciness.)
From service to the value of their food, I'd say if deserves a good rating! There's a few spots to park in front of this restaurant that is situated at the corner end of a plaza in Kent (or was I in Renton? Lol). Well, there's also a couple of tables and chairs outside for patrons to sit on a hot summer day. When my friends and I arrived inside, we took a minute to decide and make out what all was being offered at this poke bar! There was a couple of kind employees that helped us out and suggested what was most popular (very very helpful in explaining things thoroughly). I ordered the regular size (one scoop of protein) and did half tuna/half salmon on a bed of spring mixed salad. Other options includes brown or white rice as well. Next you get to choose your toppings and sauces. You are able to get all of the available toppings (seaweed, red onions, peppers, beans, crab salad etc) or select a few. The sauces- you can mix like I did. I chose the house sauce with a bit of spicy mayo. It was dynamite! And then the little crunchy bits come last as you're paying (crunch garlic pieces). My bowl filled me up and I couldn't barely get the last bite in! The value of what you get for $10 is amazing! My food was fresh, zesty, a little bit spicy but overall, felt healthy?? Is that possible?? They also have a fridge of beverages to the right near the cash wrap where you can get something other than water to wash down your delicious meal! It didn't leave me smelling fishy nor left me extremely heavy. I would recommend what I got but the list is endless for combinations you'd prefer! It's too bad they're situated in an industrial spot and hard for me coming from seattle, to get to!
Seriously this is my favorite new fast food spot. Sooooooooo good! I kept it simple and LOVED it. My husband got creative and didn't like his, but is willing to try again. I got Tuna/Salmon/Albacore as my proteins. The fish was fresh and firm not mushy and not warm. The girls working were so awesome. They were patient and helpful which is nice if you've never been to a place like this. It's like the "Subway" of Poke. You have MANY options to choose from. I'm glad The Poke Bar came to Kent. Now I don't have to be jealous when my sister in CA posts snap pics. I say if you try it and don't like it, come back and try something else. I know my husband will.
I don't know about this one. Poké is clearly one of Seattle's biggest food trends as of late, but that doesn't mean every spot is good. Like this one. I'd say Poké Bar in Kent is on the low end of the taste spectrum. There's nothing special about it. The fish is slathered up in a ton of sauce and several additions are mixed in- most likely to detract from the actual quality and plainness of the fish. I found it to be rather mushy- it lacks that smooth, firm, buttery texture and appeal that you'd get at a place that does it right. The order set-up is like most other poke spots. Pick your base, pick your protein, add whatever toppings, you know the deal. The service is friendly and they are happy to offer you samples to help you decide. The location sucks. Find it roadside next to a Bigfoot Java and Jimmy John's in an obscure part of Kent. Overall, I'd say this poké is of the fast-food grade (not much better or worse than Pokéworks, if you get my meaning)- think like the Chipotle or Subway of poké. I cannot endorse this place, unless you're on the brink of starvation and this place is right around the corner.
Great pricing. Nice workers. Super delicious menu and items, love the way the bowls are prepared, and the selection is awesome
Super good! I love poke so I knew I had to try this place. They have a very nice interior and the workers are friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety to choose from, and even the Small bowl got me full. I got a Medium one time and shared it with a friend. Definitely loved it! Also, apparently I came during happy hour (2:30 pm) and got a free soda. Probably just a weekday thing and I don't really drink soda, but it was nice. Woohoo!
Well I initially had a great review until about 20 minutes after eating this I was sick to my stomach At WORK!!! (FML) I'm assuming it had something to do with one of the proteins not being good, can't imagine what else would cause A reaction so fast! That really sucks because I wanted to love this, but I'm damaged from this experience :(

I have been to this location many times and it is usually a hit or miss depending on who makes my bowl. Most of the staff are nice, but the owner does not quite seem to care about what his customers think as he is on the ruder side. However, the most outstanding staff is the older sweet looking lady who is incredibly kind. I wanted to make a review to to praise her (I wish I got her name!!) 2 scoops= small 3 scoops=medium 4 scoops=large Usually, the 2 scoops is enough to fill me up--but I'll always accidentally order the 3 scoops instead. I do not get their spicy meats because they're all cut up and mushy. Get their non-spicy one-- they're more fresh and at no extra charge. The rest are charge an extra $1.50 a scoop. So if you do not like mushy meat, I recommend you not to get the spicy ones. The sweet lady who helped me out gave me a small sample to try (for one of the protein) when it seemedl like I had trouble picking which protein to pick. She gave me a generous amount of toppings (the size of the scoops) when other people here usually give smaller scoops. The price is quite expesnive for what you get here sometimes. I like how this poke place actually mixes your protein into the sauce for you while others just squirt their suace on top. I like how spacous it is inside, and it gives a clean feeling. I enjoy eating my meals there on sunny days. The Poke Bar isn't the best Poke place, but it's not bad for Kent Poke. I have decent experiences here, and there are defintely worse ones out there, hence the 4 stars. I just had a really good bowl this time and wanted to share! read more

Poke Bar is located on the corner of 212th and 84th behind Big Foot Java and next to Jimmy John's. You can't miss it! It's my go-to when I'm craving for Poke. There's a small parking lot but it's never an issue finding a spot. Service here is always excellent. If it's your first time, staff is always willing to help you decide what to order. You have your choice of white or brown rice. For those gluten-free folks like me, all the poke is pretty much gluten-free and they have gluten-free soy sauce available. I'd stay away from the seaweed salad and onion topping as well if you're eating gluten-free. There's a variety of toppings available. I find their poke quite delicious. I definitely recommend this place for fast yummy food! read more

Came here for lunch with a friend on a Friday. The parking lot was a little difficult to get into due to traffic backed up from a train stopped close by the restaurant and there aren't a ton of spots, but it's not too bad. Plenty of tables to eat at, but also easy to do take out. I do wish it were easier to find prices on their website before coming but ~$12 for a small bowl that was very filling was reasonable. I got their OG salmon (already mixed/seasoned) and regular salmon with spicy mayo. This had a good kick to it. The portion was generous and I felt more than full afterwards. My friend and I stuck around for a little bit talking, and decided we wanted to try dessert. They have a little freezer full of macaron ice cream sandwiches. These were too cute to pass up. It's $3.29 per. We tried the green tea and coffee. The green tea flavor was excellent. I also liked the coffee. Not too sweet, and nothing artificial or chemical-y about the taste. I wouldn't mind coming back! read more
I never liked poke, and then my boss took me here a year ago. Now I'm addicted and need to get my fix at least once a week. I always get the same thing: Large with white rice. Two servings of tuna and two servings of shrimp. Add pineapple, cilantro, jalapeños, and corn. Sauce combo number 6 - extra saucy. Crab salad and seaweed salad. Ginger. Crispy garlic. I think what makes me really like the poke here is the sauce. It makes everything come together so well. Love this place! read more
Food: 5 Stars Service: 4 Stars If only I could get this out in the Midwest! One of the first things I did when I landed in Seattle was look for a restaurant that served poke. I didn't care how much it cost or where I needed to go, I just needed poke... and lots of it. I came across Poke Bar, this small unassuming place with a tiny parking lot. The restaurant itself is small with a minimalist vibe, super airy, fresh, and clean. Once at the bar, I was overwhelmed and confused as there were so many freaking options to choose from! From toppings to sauces and different types of fish, I didn't know where to start. The guy behind the bar smiled and let out a nice chuckle as he offered to walk me through the process. So what is the process? 1.) You start with a base. (White rice, brown rice, spring mix, kale noodle 2.) Pick your protein. (Tuna, salmon, tofu, albacore, spicy tuna, scallop, shrimp, octopus) 3.) Pick a sauce! (House dressing, ponzu, spicy mayo, sweet chili, wasabi mayo, wasabi shoyu, shoyu, gluten free soy sauce) 4.) Pick your mix-ins. (variety of vegetables and herbs) 5.) Choose 2 sides (Cucumber salad, seaweed salad, imitation crab) 6.) Add toppings! (ginger, wasabi, masago etc) I was amazed at all the different options available in front of me and the guy behind the bar was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me select options that complimented each other. He helped me create a pretty healthy meal with consisted of brown rice, spicy tuna and salmon, dressed with a spicy sweet chili sauce and paired with a refreshing seaweed salad and imitation crab. I loved how crisp and fresh the vegetables were and noted how well the seaweed salad was seasoned. Although not the best, it wasn't terrible (and there are a lot of places who somehow mess up seaweed salad). Definitely give this place a shot if you're in the area! read more

Super easy to find the Poke Bar. Plenty of parking and when you walk in it is impressive how clean the space is. The food looks fresh, clean and ready to be eaten. I love all of the choices you can get at the Poke Bar. There is a variety of sides, toppings, sauces and things I've never had on a Poke Bowl such as crispy garlic. I highly recommend topping your poke bowl with crispy garlic it gave the perfect amount of crunch on top of my amazingly fresh food. read more

This place was very underwhelming and disappointing especially considering the good ratings on Yelp. I also come from California, Los Angeles specifically, and my standards for poke are pretty high. it was just really mediocre... The presentation wasn't great, the portions also were not great, especially for the cost. It was a cute enough place inside, and it was very clean. Just the actual food itself was really disappointing. read more

So here's another Poke Review.. I am on a mission to find the best poke their is. So of course I had to give this place a try. Let's first start off with why I rated this place a 3 star. It's mainly because I like my poke pre-marinated and this does not. But it'll work when I am in need of a poke fix. Poke Bar provides three different size options. Small- 2 Scoops $9.95 Medium- 3 Scoops $11.95 Large- 4 Scoops $13.95 Price wise they provide a decent portions for the price. The medium size is plenty. I generally go for white rice with tuna, salmon and octopus. They have other protein options like spicy tuna, albacore, shrimp, scallop, and even tofu. Next you pick your mix ins and sauce. My go to mix ins are sweet onions, cucumber, green onions, cilantro, jalapeño, and edamame. And then it is tossed with sesame oil and your sauce of your choice. I go for their house dressing and spicy mayo. Now it's time for the delicious sides. The options are crab meat, cucumber salad, seaweed salad or avocado (this is an extra charge of $1. I always go for the crab meat and seaweed salad. And now your topping. Ginger and Masago. And your last final touches is sprinkling on some delicious fried garlic or fried shallots. I have yet to eat inside but every time I go in I've been overall pleased with their customer service. Not my favorite but when all fails and I need a poke fix I'll come back. read more
Today was my first experience at Poke Bar. I have always enjoyed sushi so it only made sense that I try this place, considering the great reviews, and it is geographically in my area. As I walked in the restaurant, the first thing that I noticed was the ambience of the restaurant, it was a very well lit a decent amount of seating, and the good music playing from the speakers. The staff seemed to have great attitudes and happy that the customers are arriving, even with it being close to closing hours. The guy the assisted me was named Alex, and I really appreciated how he could recognize that I had never been to this establishment, and he politely walked me through the process as a customer. I was very impressed with Alex, and his professional skills and the ability to create such and delicious Poke bowl for me. I have always been and observer of customer service, even more than the food experience, and because of people like Alex, I will definitely return to this restaurant on somewhat of a regular basis. In addition, to everything, the food is definitely fresh and delicious. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. Give its shot and let me know! read more

After having tried a ton of poke places in Seattle, I must say this is probably on the lower end of my list. This is your chipotle style pick and choose bar. Don't get me wrong, they have different varieties of fish/toppings and the staff was great but the fish was totally a miss. I got tuna and salmon and none of which are marinated. They're plain and then they add the mix ins and literally mix the sauce with all of it. the tuna especially was still flavorless and tasted straight from frozen. The salmon was okay but still not that great. When I think poke, I think marinated fish with tons of flavor. The fish was so bland and the add ins didn't disguise that at all. read more

The person who helped us was friendly and very patient. She took her time to explain how everything works, next time it'll be a breeze! They have 8 different proteins. Each scoop of protein is 2 ounces. I ordered the medium size and chose spicy tuna, albacore and salmon. The spicy tuna is already seasoned but you get to select your flavors and mix-ins for your other proteins. The spicy mayo was good, next time I'm going to try the wasabi mayo. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The only downside is the parking lot. It's small and there's a lot of traffic because of the drive thru espresso stand near by. read more

Came here on Monday to take advantage of their grand opening 50% off promo. I'm a big fan of poke so I was pretty excited to try out this spot. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The quality of the fish was good and the medium size bowl was pretty filling. With the medium, you get 1.5 scoops of rice, 3 scoops of fish/protein, unlimited choices of veggies, and two sides. I ordered two mediums, one for me and one for the mrs., with different sauces and fish. For mine, I got two scoops of spicy tuna and one scoop of salmon. The scoops are pretty small. They're like mini ice cream scoops. And then you get full size ice cream scoops of rice. As for the taste, the spicy tuna was flavored really well. It was ground up and had a pasty consistency versus being an actual chunk of tuna. For the salmon, I got the spicy mayo. It wasn't very spicy and there wasn't much additional flavor to it. For what it's worth, most poke spots that I've been to have their fish marinated. Here at Poke Bar, they mix everything together when you order it. Does that make a difference? I don't know, but that is where my first experience here falls a little short. For my wife's bowl, she had two scoops of salmon and one scoop of tuna. For her sauce, she did a combo of wasabi shoyu and the house dressing. She also said there wasn't much flavor so I had a taste and confirmed it. Maybe it was just opening week jitters? I will likely give this place another shot in the future or just stick with the spicy tuna, which I would have no problems doing. However, without the promo, it's kind of pricey. For now, 3/5. read more

Ehh. I love poke! The only reason why I go to this one is because it's the close to my house and it's convenient. HOWEVER, I wouldn't choose it. They Asian guy is very stingy with giving out poke. I pay $12+ for this and it isn't even worth it. If you're ever craving poke don't go to this one. You won't get your money's worth. I will probably start going somewhere else. read more
