Getting some fresh scallops for supper tonight
    Leesa-Catherine S.

Walked in today for the first time in search of scallops. Lovely large store, amazing selection of fish and seafood - I'd go back in a heartbeat. This place is pricier than other places but the scallops were huge and amazingly fresh. 8 scallops cost $37, so you've been warned.....they aren't the sort of thing you want to burn at that price! Lovely staff, the owner was in the place chatting.....very nice environment, extremely clean and it didn't reek of fish - it's absolutely worth a visit!

We were seated as soon as the store is open and pleasantly greeted by Ricky and another wonderful lady I'm assuming she was training. Ricky had gone over the menu - he had given us his recommendations based on what type of flavour profile we're looking for salty sweet and he also gave some drink recommendations. As a true woman that I am of course I had three drinks because why not. I had ordered the BLT and my husband had the Hightower. I was a little sad cause on Google. There's a lot of steak frites photos, but it wasn't on the menu. However, all the flavours melted together very well. Everything was seasoned great. The drinks themselves are very delicious and had it not been 10 AM. I probably would've added a shot of something in my beverage. I also went to the washroom and that's it so aesthetically pleasing the entire place is very modern and I enjoyed it. Obviously, because we ordered too much, we had some things to go. Ricky packed up our food and then walked us out of the restaurant. If it's not the food, you got the five out of five solely on the customer service provided by Ricky. I can't wait to come back.

They don't drench them in syrup which is how I prefer my meals. My only critique is the tea. They didn't have mint and the black tea was Lipton. I'm not a fan of Lipton tea and should've asked the brand before ordering. 8/10

Customer Experience -- Very Disappointed…read more I've been a loyal customer for years and have spent thousands of dollars at Fruiterie Maruti in Cote St-Luc over the years, but after today I won't be back, unless Sunny one of the owners contacts me with an apology and invites me to come back for 2 good papayas at no charge. About a month ago (for the 1st time), I bought two papayas that after 2-3 days golden in colour were hard and inedible when cut open. When I returned and told the owner Sonny about it, he grudgingly replaced only one papaya because I didn't have a receipt. A receipt, really? I accepted that one replacement, though I felt it was unfair, as I bought 2 and paid for and both which were hard inside and no good. Incidentally, I consider myself an expert on papayas as I've been eating them my entire life. I know when to cut them open, and when they should be ripe and ready to eat. I've heard that transporting them from wherever they're grown to the final destination could cause them to freeze or go bad if not properly protected handled. Today Sept 25, 2015, I returned do do more shopping and had about $150 worth of groceries in my cart, including two new papayas. I brought back two bad ones from last week, which I brought in as Sunny had asked me to do if they ever weren't good. He also suggested I call the store right away and speak to him which I did try and do, but neither he nor his brother Rocky were available, so I held onto them until I was able to return a few days later. I'm recovering from a broken femur and walk with a walker or a cane and I can't just go out anytime I want to. Instead of gratuitously resolving such a minor issue, he told me that I was the only one who ever complained about his papaya, and that I should have returned them within two days. He also told me that I should have kept the receipt ( who keeps fruit receipts)? He actually doubted that I'd had tried to speak with either or his brother Rocky , but when I called a few days ago whoever answered told me they weren't available. Today he again insisted on replacing only one. He then walked away from the cash and left me waiting for about 5 minutes not knowing if he was coming back or not. Meantime, I wanted to pay and leave so I asked the cashier go and find him and he finally returned. When I explained this was making me anxious I then him told him that I could always take my business elsewhere,. Sunny then told me: "You know what, never mind -- don't take anything and just leave." I left without my groceries. For someone who has shoped there for fruit and vegetables many years, this was certainly not the way to treat a very good customer. Sunny's handling of this was rude and poor business practice. Unless I receive a sincere apology, I will not return -- and I hope others think twice before shopping here.
