Papito is part of a trilogy that include Parvis and Furco, not far away. Their terrasse was set up recently, and should be very pleasant this summer. The inside is quite big, and beautifully laid out, with the kitchen on the left hand side. The subtle lighting, cuban music and (very very loud) ambiance is lively and young.
The menu has several sections: the snackettes, the meats, sides, sauces, and desserts. It is designed for sharing, and a meal at Papitos would certainly be more rewarding if enjoyed with friends. We tried the morels dip with farm vegetables, the mortadelle plate with almond, spicy cucumbers, kefta, porc, and bread. The food came pretty quickly and looked beautiful. The produce and meat were of particularly good quality and freshness. The new asparagus of the year were tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The morels were fragrant and sunken into a rich ranch-like sauce that makes everything more delicious. The cucumbers were doused in a chili oil infused with garlic and other aromatics. The addition of chopped dried tomatoes brought sweetness while adding to the fiery appearance of the dish. The kefta could be more flavourful, but the porc was particularly succulent. The meat was utterly tender and the fat was rendered from the grill. The subtle use of spices on the rind allowed for the flavour of the meat itsef to shine. The bread was another highlight. It was thick and fluffy, foccocia-like, perfect for dipping in all the sauces.
Great location, very popular and worth revisiting!
Note: They have a special after 21h, where a meat and a side are priced at 30$. Great deal! read more
