Leonard Heavy Duty Towing was sent out to tow me via my Good Sam Club membership. They arrived promptly with both a tow vehicle and a second truck to follow in order to ensure a safe arrival at our destination. I was surprised at how complex the hookup process was. It became very clear how serious the ramifications would be to the RV if the lengthy procedure was not handled with significant expertise and care. The staff could not have been any more professional or courteous for which I am exceptionally grateful. Luke M.

He screamed at me (19 year old girl, college student) due to me being quoted $250 MAX for the pick up of the vehicle by his employee when I questioned why the price was $585. I then get yelled at being called a liar, and also got yelled at for "calling his employee a liar." My 20yr old female friend was also screamed at to the point she was crying in the office. He decides to even it out with $350, after claiming it was impounded, yelling at me, calling me a liar, and "making his time wasted.". The other employees in the office were amazing, helpful, and explained the situation while their boss was screaming at a teenager. Afterwards we had left the office to go retrieve the car. While switching vehicles we see said man, owner, manager person, leave the office and start walking towards us which is across the street. At this point we're are scared and trying to leave as soon as possible because we felt unsafe and scared of this man. He was almost at the car's window by the time she was able to drive out before he approach us.

I had my tires delivered from tirebuyer.com and the delivery process started off okay…read more I knew I needed an alignment when I got my tires put on, that's why I needed new tires in the first place. I told them that I was on a budget when I got there and they didn't want to work with me much, they made it sound good by saying they would check my allignment, and we could go from there. They proceeded to charge me to check the alignment, said that I needed a cam bolt ordered and installed in order to align the rear tires....I told them to hold off, I'd see if my dad could order and install the parts because he is a mechanic. I took my vehicle over to my dad's garage and the rear camera bolts hadn't even been touched (those are the parts that came stock on the vehicle that Bangor Auto & Truck said I needed to order and install) I was so embarrassed, and pissed because they made a fool out of me because I didn't know any better. I then proceeded to drive even further on my new, unaligned tires another 35 minutes both ways to my uncle's shop, who I know and trust and should have gone in the first place, Autoworks in Eddington. They did the allignment just fine with no additional parts or labor. Bottom line, Bangor Auto & Truck lied to my face, tried to take advantage of me, and I will tell as many people as I can about it because I don't want anyone else to have to buy parts that they don't need, or pay for unnecessary labor. I don't know how they are still in business. They are crooks, lier's and shouldn't be a deliveey option on tirebuyer.com Don't do it!

So to update my review; I had my car towed to my home, as per my agreement with Dave's. Having…read morespoken to the mechanic there at length, his estimate to my ears seemed like overkill on an old vehicle. However, a few things: firstly, it had been sitting around for 8 years without usage. Secondly, in that time the vehicle had aged to 25 years (doesn't seem that long to me!) and the parts just plain rusted out. When I saw the vehicle the gas tank looked in sorry shape and was badly rusted--clearly needing preplacement. The vehicle transporter said the same thing. That it wasn't worth any further investment in parts or reconditioning. It was simply too old and the frame didn't look good. I didn't appreciate this analysis because it never occurred to me that this was the situation; hats off again to Dave's mechanic--Ricki--who accurately gave me the bad news that I couldn't appreciate.

In August 2015, we were traveling to a campsite on Mt Desert when my Sube's exhaust dropped off! That long stretch on Bangor road before Ellsworth. It was getting dark. The driver from Dave's was out really darn fast, dropped my wife and daughter off at at nearby motel, drove out to the service location with the car and then gave me a lift back to the motel (admittedly, that was on her way back, but still it was a nice thing to do). I never heard of such a requirement for a "warranty". I asked them for other choices, such as replacing the compressor only and forget the warranty, or install a second-hand compressor. I also asked if the $115 diagnostic charge would be applied as a credit on the final bill. I don't think that was well received. The attendant said she would have to ask the mechanic and get back to me. She never called me back. I guess they figured I was not going to be a pushover customer, so they decided to run with my $115. Meanwhile I got a dealer quote to replace the compressor with an EOM part and warranty for $1300. A mechanic friend of mine advised that I go with the dealer, since private shops often use overpriced after market parts anyway.
