The good: the apartment itself, the maintenance staff is prompt once a work order is placed. The bad: The front office seems bothered by every question or request. They have an attitude with everything. They recently put a $50 charge on my account for not having renters insurance (I've had the policy active and paid with USAA since moving in). I've now called five times to get them to remove this charge so I can pay this month's rent. The online portal will not allow you to pay a custom amount. Now the charge is off, but with a $130 late charge. The package situation is dumb. I have a wedding coming up, so clearly expensive and important packages will be coming to me. The front office accepts the packages from the carrier, puts them in the back of the office and when you try to get them from the front office staff, they can't find them. I have literally visited the office six times to receive two packages. They also will not allow you back there to look yourself. They never answer the phone. This is annoying, because when you walk down to the office there is usually someone sitting in the office to greet you. Even if you have a tour of a future resident, have one staff member stay in the office to answer the phones. Even if you leave a message I never get a call back. I have called on at least five occasions and received one call back. There was even a time when a resident near me had packages outside their door piling up over a couple weeks. A neighbor stopped me in the hall and we were both concerned. The resident clearly lived alone and we were concerned if the person might not be alright inside. I go down to the office to speak to the staff who visibly looked annoyed I was bothering her. She told me the resident would retrieve the packages eventually and not to worry about it. I said, "Can you please do a wellness check to make sure the person is not dead inside?" She again acted annoyed. I threw my hands up and left. The amenities are consistently broken and under repair. From the attentiveness of the leasing agent, Keiyrah, who responded within minutes of an inquiry to Zeke, the assistant manager who made his presence and availability known upon my first meeting, this is a remarkable team. Starting with the quote process, Keiyrah reached out quickly and offered me a chance to tour (guided or self) in-person or virtual, due to covid. I reviewed the virtual tour but also opted for an in-person viewing -- starting with the leasing office, they have secure entry, temperature checks, mask requirements and hand sanitizer. Upon touring, all amenities were open, functioning and had posted Covid guidelines (this really impressed me as a public health practitioner). The online videos are strikingly very accurate in comparison to the online photos. Smart thermostats, quartz counters, bench showers, and fob entries are my favorite features. OveralI, the property really feels secure. The maintenance staff is also remarkable with less than 24-hour turn around for work orders and they too follow Covid-19 protocols. The common areas are well maintained and the neighbors I've seen are friendly, socially distancing and wearing masks in common areas! The busy intersections can be a little loud at times, especially due to sirens at the nearby hospital, but over time you get used to it. I've lived in these apartments for a little over a year. After turning in my notice today I decided to write an honest and fair review about the building and management. I really wish that I could give more stars but in most areas they just don't get it right. Pros: Amenities including pool and workout area are very good. You can walk to many restaurants and shopping While starting to feel a little dated the styling of the units is still pretty good Cons: Management. The management in place now will literally tell you anything to get your signature and then treat you like your crazy when you ask them for what they promised. Little examples of this are key fobs and access cards. If you don't get it writing forget it. Once you sign you will receive attitude. Noise. The noise from Scott Blvd is loud 24 hours a day. I feel they did not design the building with this in mind. The traffic sounds bounce off the courtyards and can even be heard in the inside units. Chemicals. We couldn't move into our unit for four days after the lease started. They used some kind of chemical in cleaning that was noxious. In their defence they placed a ozone machine in the unit to try to clean the air but it took about two weeks before the majority of the smell went away. The maintenance man blamed in on the carpet cleaners but we still never figured out what it was. We asked politely for a refund for the four days and just got the run around so we dropped it. Also the water from the refrigerator door smells and is undrinkable so we just used bottled water. I don't think they change the refrigerator filters. Bait and switch. Management will show you beautiful model apartments and after you sign the lease your actual unit will be much lower quality. When we moved in we realized that instead of the front loading washer/dryer in the model we saw our unit had a machines that looked like they came out of an old dorm. The toilet in our unit was tiny and low to the ground. The blinds are so cheap that after opening them one time we had to spend hours to get them back closed. Maintenance. Our elevator has been down for over a week now. It has been down at least once a month since we moved in. This is such a problem that residents openly joke on whether it is up or not. Our final straw came last night when my wife and kids had to spend 45 minutes waiting for maintenance because the crappy key fob lock on our apartment stopped working. The maintenance man acted like he was doing us a huge favor in just showing up and complained to my wife that it was a dead battery in the lock like we know to change them. These apartments are way too expensive for the issues and management that you'll have to live with. I'm spending a large amount to move a mile away just to be out of this sub par building. Keep driving - there are plenty of better apartments in the area. read more

I just completed an application 30 minutes ago and it was approved with conditions (one month rent deposit). Since I was unwilling to agree to their terms and the leasing agent Stephon asked if I wanted to cancel my application, you would think the transaction could be canceled. Nope! He said it will take 30 days and they will mail me a check for the deposit and administrative fees which is absurd. If you're not sure or don't want to pay one month rent for a security deposit DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME APPLYING I should not have to wait 30 days to receive my funds considering it's still pending and ESPECIALLY SINCE WE ARE DEALING WITH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. We have had our rent raised and seen zero improvement of communication. We would move except they stated we need 60 days notice for leaving. Not reliable. Nice apartment but the staff is absolutely terrible. Unresponsive to emails or calls. And this is not just for problems. They fail to communicate when I tried to initiate the lease, renew the lease, end the lease and get my deposit returned. The amount of time I spent trying to get staff to just answer me was ridiculous. I would like to say it was one person, but there is so much turn over, and it happened repeatedly. This place is awesome!! The amenities are fantastic, if there is ever an issue it is taken care of immediately, their property policies aren't just lip service - they are actually enforced, and the staff is phenomenal!! The gym and sauna are probably my two favorite amenities. The gym has everything you need - weight machines, all types of cardio equipment, free weights, CrossFit area, etc. The sauna is always empty when I go and is a nice perk to have in apartment living. I rarely ever hear my neighbors above me. I def never hear the people who live on either side. Nothing but great things to say about the staff. I worked with Keyon from the start and she was on it!! Super professional and responsive. The maintenance crew rocks. I've lived here since Feb of this year and have always been provided with exceptional and speedy service from the maintenance crew. Today, I was able to get a service request immediately addressed within moments of reporting the issue - Rudy and Raul were awesome!! This complex is within walking distance to several different grocery stores that can accommodate any budget, quick bites, casual shopping, and others. I loved living at Point on Scott. I was one of the first to move into the building and resided there for a year and a half. The location is great, it's just minutes from the city, however, you don't feel too far removed. It's surrounded by lots of new restaurants and retail, as well as the new North Decatur Square that's coming to the area. All which are within walking distance to the complex. The unit interiors are modern and spacious. The amenities are second to none, things you wouldn't even have on your "wish list" for an apt. home such as his/her saunas and a golf simulator, just to name a few. I can't say enough great things about the staff, The Manager Carla is AMAZING, you can always count on the Assistant Mgr Keyon for one of her big Infectious smiles, and Stefon is very helpful and cool also. Maintenance is very quick to respond to any requests. They always have resident activities and even a free trainer. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will miss the building and the people.
