Life is good at Decatur AMLI. I love my brand new apartment. It is bright and airy. I have have been here for 3 months now. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Jamie first showed me my apartment and has continued to be my go to person. The maintenance service has been very helpful also. I have moved from a large house to an apartment here and I am so glad that I did. The location in downtown Decatur is perfect. read more

We rented a 3 bedroom here for just 1 year. This was one of the worst apartments I have rented. Here are the lowlights: -The building is not safe. There were numerous occasions of cars being broken into and instances of cars stolen. This was not a one time occurrence and happened frequently. -The building has a no smoking policy, but management does not bother to enforce it. So the hallways will consistently smell of cigarette smoke or weed, and sometimes the smell would permeate into our unit. -We had multiple occasions where our water would come out as a rusty color. -The building never bothered to consistently change the air filter so it was completely black the one time they did change it. -The package room system is a mess and packages would be stolen very often. -The elevator would routinely not work. -They would not bother to turn on the heat sometimes in the fitness center in the winter so it would be below 60 degrees sometimes in there. -The sky terrace clubhouse is supposed to be reserved for residents and a guest (or 2 at the most), but there would consistently be large gatherings and parties of non-residents. All of the above issues were very often ignored by the management team when raised to them. The office team is extremely rude, condescending, and indifferent to the problems with the building. Living here for approximately 2 years. Listen to the review of the person who's been here already for a year. They're not making it up. This place leaves much to be desired. Pros - Standup Showers (this was the only pro for me) Cons - Location (while it was stationed next to nice things in a walking distance if you're a foodie [which I'm not], for me, this was more of a con b/c it was right at the high school and the kids are loud, they would smoke, and traffic was bad here esp. during the workweek when schools would release) - cars got broken into and stolen (happened more than once) - doors don't shut properly, slam, or are broken.. (this includes car gate entry ways) this has occurred numerous times now! - rent got jacked up over $400 (for me personally) despite a 1 yr renewal. Needless to say, I've decided not to renew. Continuing to live here isn't worth $2,000 /month for a single 1 bedroom that's only 700+ sq ft - noise.. now, I got a complaint made against me about music that I had always played despite already living for a year. Yet, this apt is located right behind Decatur High School. Game nights created lots of noise (esp. on Friday nights).. high school kids would mess up several of the amenity spaces and make obnoxious noises throughout my time being here - kids of residents would at times turn the night lights to shine in windows of the apt units. One night I had to physically walk outside at night to turn it the other way around b/c the beaming light was shining into my apt unit and it was impossible for me to get any freakin' sleep! - hallways and especially stairwell in the building often smelled like dog piss. I'm not joking either. Residents would just let their smelly dogs urinate right on the concrete stairways. So many days from work, I would come home and see drips of animal piss & I felt like vomiting from the stench of urine. - mail room is the most disorganized mess I've ever seen (now, I don't necessarily blame the leasing people for this one but it's a huge con for me). If you order online a lot, just get a PO Box and pay the monthly fee for having one... you'll be searching for your packages forever in that pigsty - residents are rude and won't bother to even hold the door open for you. This was a consistent thing I noticed throughout my time being here. Maybe it's a racial thing as I'm not White and most of the residents here are. I often felt like I didn't belong. Some were really nice but that's not indicative to the majority of people there. - security is a joke and some of them can be very, very rude - some of the leasing staff I found to be not necessarily rude (but disingenuous) - maintenance request was ignored (never bothered to put in another after that) - elevators were not functional for several times throughout my time being here - lots of "tattle tale" behavior amongst residents--personally, I just think this is childish - very cheap stacked washer/dryers (esp. dryer), takes me nearly half a day to dry my sheets, my old apt. had much more up-to-date washing/drying appliances.. for how much money they want from you per month, there's no excuse for this cheap quality of a cleaning appliance they give you It's seems nice (at first), but when you've been here long enough, it will leave a sour taste in your mouth. At least... it did for me. Good riddance.. I'm happy to be leaving this place. AMLI, do better. I will not being going to another AMLI property either and I do not recommend living here. read more

I love living at Amli Decatur. I decided to move from Florida after Hurricane Ian. The Amli Team (in particular Stephanie) was so great about answering my questions, giving me a tour, and providing website assistance. I toured six different complexes and knew I wanted to be at Amli. My apartment is great, the amenities here are amazing, customer service is spectacular and the location is perfect. read more

​ 1. I provided pay stubs from my employer. (Which I'm being treated as if they are fake) 2. I provided bank statements showing my beginning and ending balance for the last three months. (After coming to the office and speaking to Gaby, and her telling me what was needed is 3 months of statements. Only the first page of the statements not the whole statements. I came in and out the front office 3 time that day. As I tried to get an understanding of what was need.) 3. I provided the only proof I can to show my checks were deposited into my account. ( After submitting the banks statements front page for the last 3 months. I was then asked by Stephanie to provide the bank statement showing where my checks have been deposited. I informed her I have not received my bank statement from January as of yet. I will not have that until after February 17th. I did send her pictures of the actual checks and proof that the check was deposited on the 23rd of January.) 4. I provided my full bank statement in PDF form, from December -January showing my deposits. ( Stephanie requested my full bank statement from January in PDF form, show my deposits. At the time, I didn't know how to edit a PDF to not show my account information. After not getting a response from Stephanie about hand delivering these sensitive documents. I was then told by Gaby, in the office. That they needed to see my ending balance, which they already have received.) Finally Stephanie tells me that I don't have enough money in my bank account. I would need 50-60 thousand dollars in my account. Also due to "audits" she can not verify my income with the proof of income that I have given her already. At NO point within these entire experience did I feel that I was being assisted, help, and or welcomed to this community. I was dragged along until Stephanie could articulate a false excuse of why I am not being approved for an apartment that I can afford 3times over. At the very least this is inadequate or sub-par poor business practices. At the worst this is racial profile and discrimination. If anyone is interested in what's going on here. I have all emails and recordings of my interactions addressed above. Worst experience ever ... Very poor management. read more

The office staff -- Jamie and Manny -- have been exceptionally responsive and helpful during my move. I am moving thousands of miles from a sizeable house to an apartment, and the kindness and compassion these two individuals have shown while remaining professional at all times have helped make the transition so much easier. read more

AMLI Decatur is the best complex I have ever lived in. The location is superb, the staff personally makes it a point to get to know the residents, and my building is constantly radiating with sunlight! This is by far the best apartment complex I have ever lived in. I highly recommend it! read more

Our family has been living at AMLI Decatur since last summer and we have had a wonderful experience here. We have met a lot of friendly neighbors here and the staff have been very professional and polite. From the beginning, the staff explained every step of the process of getting a lease and moving in. Whenever we have run into any challenges, the staff have tried their best to help us out. Their commitment to quick service requests is serious. They respond in a timely manner and try the best to address our service issue both in the short term and if it requires more work they give us a specific plan of action for the longterm solutions. I don't understand the very negative post on this Yelp review. In such a large apartment community, there will always be some issues and you can't expect perfection. Here is an example of a recent great experience we had. Our son was having a hard time sleeping because the Thermostat had stopped working. Ermin came up quickly but had to deal with a more complicated situation than he had first anticipated. However, he persisted with it till it was solved after going away and coming back about three times. He came back again in the morning to finish making sure that the remaining repair issue was addressed. Ermin is always very polite and so helpful. AMLI Decatur is lucky to have him and other great staff on their team. read more

The staff are helpful and kind. For example, during the covid-19 shelter in place order, the staff arranged for food trucks to park in front of AMLI Decatur for two weeks. A different truck every day. This is awesome! The apartment and amenities are first rate. The location is unbeatable. I could not be happier with my choice of apartment. read more
