Matt is amazing. I hurt my back lifting some boxes and went to a top spine MD. The spine MD said we could inject steroids and hope for the best. He was no real help. After suffering for a few weeks someone referred me to Dr. Matt. I've never thought chiropractors were an option - as I went to one a few years ago and they basically looked at my insurance and figured out the max to bill and didn't help me at all. Matt was completely different. Matt was very clinical, but friendly and understanding. You could tell he really cared and knew what he was talking about. After maybe 2 sessions with Matt I couldn't believe it but my back felt great. As others have mentioned I could sleep better - and almost forgot that my back ever hurt. Now I visit Matt as regularly as I can to keep feeling my best. read more

Meh. I was rear-ended last week and went to see Dr. Matt based upon a combo of being in network with my insurance, and great Yelp reviews. I'm not completely inexperienced with chiropractic therapy, but I haven't been a regular client either. I was a little taken aback by my experience. A really nice intern participated in my appointment, and Dr. Matt explained that she was in her final year of chiropractic school. All good. But then it got kind of weird because he used my appointment as a demo, training, and testing ground for the intern--quizzing her on the names of the various parts of my body that were ailing me, quizzing her on how to examine me, and how to treat me. He even went to the whiteboard. He kept telling her "I want to hear you say it!" I felt more like a fly on a wall than the patient in the room. He also had her adjust me initially, and then he came in after with corrective feedback and readjustments to her not-quite-right adjustments. He was also quizzing me at various points, which, cool, I like to learn; but also... it felt more about showcasing his authority than focusing on my care. Mind you, though not badly injured, I was just involved in a car accident, and I started out my appointment by telling them that I saw an Ortho who thought chiropractic care was great, but discouraged any neck manipulation in my particular instance (to which he disagreed). I also iterated that I was especially nervous about neck adjustments. I was never asked if I was ok with an intern adjusting my spine or back--it just happened. The intern went first, and then the doctor followed up with corrections to her adjustments. Granted, nobody manipulated my neck (just my shoulders, back, lower spine), but overall, I felt more like a student, or demo dummy, than a legitimate patient. (Probably because I was using insurance.) I actually thought the combination of the rolling table, ice, and e-stim treatment were really helpful, but overall, it was an awkward appointment. Nobody ever discussed a treatment plan with me or indicated how long, or how many appointments they recommended. In fact, Dr. Matt took off after the lesson, and when I finished the e-stim, the intern just said "Come back next week and see how you feel." Umm, ok. That was it. It wasn't bad. But it definitely didn't feel like a doctor appointment. read more

Earlier this month while visiting San Diego l received treatment from Dr. Matt Sanicki; to help seek relief for a pinched nerve I suffered from a fall in March 2023. I found his entire staff to be wonderful. I am back at home and still receiving on going treatment, but I must say if not for Dr. Sanicki and his staff, it would have been difficult for me to physically function while visiting San Diego. Thank you Point Loma Chiropractic, Dr. Sanicki, Hannah Necker and Quinn Bohannon. The receptionist was great, so sorry I forgot her name. read more

I am so grateful to my colleagues at Point Loma Nazarene University for referring me to the awesomeness that is Point Loma Chiropractic. I had my first adjustment last year with Matt - after 20ish years of not being to a chiropractor! I couldn't believe the difference and made a commitment to myself that I won't go anywhere else for my chiropractic needs. I hold most of my stress in my upper shoulders/neck...which has recently led to sleepless nights and 40-hour migraines. I finally gave in today (got tired of being in pain just sitting) and made an appointment to see Matt. After one adjustment session for my neck and shoulders and some ice therapy, I am thrilled to say I can lay on my pillow pain free and my migraine is currently gone!! What I love about Matt and his crew at Point Loma Chiropractic is that not only does he know several techniques, but he EXPLAINS them. He tells you what he's doing and why, what the causes for my discomfort might be, and if there is something I can do to take better care of myself (strengthening exercises, etc.), he equips me with that knowledge too before I leave!! It is evident that he and the rest of this team care about people...and when you're not feeling at your best, that can turn an entire day around. Do yourself a favor - give them a call. read more

Let me start by saying I've never been to a chiropractor. I thought they never really fixed you. 3 weeks ago when I was letting my 100 pound pup out of my truck, he decided to jump out towards traffic. Lock kneed and with a straight back I caught him mid air and set him down while rotating my upper body. Instantly knew I had a bad bad injury, I almost passed out getting out of bed the next day. 3 days later I called PLC. Pretty surprised they had an opening 2 hours after I called. I wasn't expecting much, but I met Dr Ian. He could actually see my bulging disc under my skin. Before my visit I had shooting pain down my leg, extreme tightness and pain, and no matter what position I was in I was in bad pain. He did his thing and I left feeling a lot better. Long story short, 3 weeks later and only 5-6 visits I'm feeling 100%. It's crazy. I thought chiros got you good enough to see them next week, and the week after, ad infinitum. I think my improvement is borderline miraculous. He was the one that actually told me today 'you look good, let's see each other on a as needed basis'. I'm extraordinarily grateful for whay Dr Ian did for me. You hear people say they got their life back from pain relief, but in my case it's true. I really can't recommend this place enough. Thanks Dr Ian!!! read more

After having tried several chiropractors in San Diego, I am extremely happy to have finally found someone I feel confident with. What sets Dr. Ahearn and the staff at Point Loma chiropractic apart for me is I feel for the first time like someone is working with me on an actual, comprehensive plan for my treatment, rather than "crack, crack, See you Thursday." In addition to the adjustments, they also do a good deal of deep tissue and muscle work as well, which has been immensely helpful in reducing my overall pain as well as improving my structure. Just as valuable is the support staff, particularly Amanda at the front desk. She has been more helpful than I could possibly ask for in navigating my insurance options and working with me to establish an affordable course of treatment. I can't remember ever working with anyone in the medical field that combined as much technical acumen with an actual sense of caring as Dr. Ahearn and his staff. I can not recommend them highly enough. read more

This guy is rad. I went in for adjustment because I knew my neck was out of alignment. I knew I didn't need an xray or an exam nor did I need a lengthy "get to know you" chat by a kind a caring Chiropractor. I just needed the necking cracking magic and wanted to save the chatting for later. The Dr. laughed when I told him this and agreed by saying he was "old school". Within minutes I was adjusted, my neck pain and migraine gone. He's a wizard that doesn't f-around. I recommend him to anyone! read more

I've been suffering with the pain at the bottom of my feet on and off for over a year now. But, after my last half marathon, it's has gotten definitely worse. Fed-up, I looked up sports therapy, on Yelp, and found Dr. Matt Stanicki. Dr. Stanicki is a friendly, energetic, no-nonsense kinda guy. Very practical when it comes to sports injury treatments. I went to see him about my plantar fascitis caused by all the ridiculous running that I've been doing. Not only has he been able to give me helpful advice (exercise, post-run icing suggestions, etc), but he fixed my feet!! I no longer wake up and cringe with pain everytime I roll out of bed or get off of my chair to stand up. Freakin' awesome!! Great experience, great results and an amazing staff! I'll definitely be visiting PLC, again. read more

I have had all great experiences at my visits with Dr. Murphy and the front desk staff. Everyone is friendly and very helpful. I was experiencing horrible neck and shoulder pain and was able to be seen the day I called. Since then, my neck and shoulder pain has subsided and I am very pleased with the care and treatment I received. I appreciate the advice and guidance as far as home care too. I can happily say I won't be needing to go elsewhere for pain management and adjustments! Thank you Point Loma Chiropractic! read more

Chris helped my mom with her neck and back pain with only two appts done. He was really knowledgeable and knew right away what she needed.

Can't say enough about Dr. Matt and his team! I've been visiting PL Chiropractic now for a few months and it's always a pleasure to go there. Dr. Matt is very professional; taking the time to explain everything going on with you, and what he's doing or can do to help... he took a lot of one on one time to help me diagnose the source of my pain. Ive been to many other Chiro's and often feel like they are either throwing you a sales pitch, or they are a factory of patients... in and out, with no personal connection. It's definitely NOT that way at PL Chiropractic! I feel amazing after adjustments, and his ART is on point. My wife now visits him as well! read more

Doctor Matt has literally saved me more times than I can count! I saw him off and on for adjustments but when I was injured in a car accident I began coming 2x/week. I went from not being able to even sit still I was in so much pain to almost no pain at all. He takes an whole body approach to your physical health and it shows. Carolina (the massage therapist) worked with Matt and I received massages and cupping as part of my treatment as well. Carolina is a genius. I don't think I will ever go anywhere else for a massage. read more

I always feel amazing after my appointment. Dr. Matt and the staff are great! They will even fit you in if you really need an adjustment. Unlike other places I have been, Matt gives you tools to help you get better, rather than just saying you'll be coming for life. I can come in when I need to and if I am doing why I'm told, I feel better. Thanks to everyone for making every visit enjoyable! read more

I don't think I could say enough good things about this place. Dr. Matt is the best chiropractor I have ever been too. I started coming here about 6 months ago through a recommendation from one of my friends to help with my Achilles. I strained it last February from running. I had gone to a doctor prior to Dr. Matt who basically just told me to stay off of it and if it's not better in 2 months to come back so he could do an MRI. When I came here though Dr. Matt was so helpful. He started doing active release therapy on it and told me different exercises to start doing as well as how to care for it before and after I work out. I am very active and working out and staying healthy is a huge priority for me, so when I got injured it was a huge blow. I couldn't run for 6 months until I came here. Dr. Matt had me running again within weeks of coming to him. If you have any aches or pains and are just not sure where to turn, I would highly recommend you come here. I have already recommended him to so many of my friends and coworkers and everyone is so thankful they found him. read more

Dr Ian Ahearn is an incredible healer, after being disabled from a hip surgery at Ucsd, I came here as a shot in the dark. Dr Ahearn diagnosed a number of problems in my first session that my surgeon at Ucsd could not for 8 months. He performed some Active release on my hip and hamstring that first session- giving me the first significant relief since my unfortunate surgery. I have continued to come here for the last nine months and I am almost completely healed. I could barely walk when I first came in and had pain so severe I couldn't do anything really. I should have come here first instead of surgery, I am forever in his debt. Thanks! read more

Dr Ian and his staff are the best I have been too. Easy to get in on short notice and if you experience pain you know how valuable this can be. I will never go anywhere else read more

Dr. Sanicki continues to be the best of the best in chiropractic. Whether I see him several times a week or not for several months, he always has the spot on right technique and strategies to manage my immediate need and address my long term treatment options. I sprained my ankle a few weeks ago and made the right decision to visit PLC for it rather than my general practitioner. Boy was that a great decision! I recommend this place for injury recovery. read more

Highly highly recommend! I am always nervous going to new chiropractors because of stories I've heard! This one is fantastic! This review focuses on the stretch therapy they offer, but I've had excellent chiro experiences with Matt as well. John Vosseller at Point Loma Chiropractic is an exceptionally talented stretch therapist. I have been a client for a couple of years and I can't say enough good things about John's capabilities and integrity. First of all, Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a highly underrated type of body work, and goes well beyond basic stretching. John was trained by the Stretch to Win Institute. Finding someone who has this specific training is critical when looking for a stretch therapist. In fact, if you are evaluating different stretch services, don't waste your time or money on someone who hasn't been trained by the Stretch to Win Institute. Those who do have this background (and there are only a few in San Diego) tend to be extremely expensive, difficult to schedule with, and generally not as friendly, positive, or laid-back as John is. Bottom line is that John's rates are extremely competitive for his level of expertise, and he is genuinely a nice guy. I know that professional athletes get tremendous benefit from FST, and that seems to be the only arena where FST has truly caught one. I'm not an athlete, but I can personally attest to the benefits for someone like myself who has low back problems and who sits in front of a computer for long periods of time. The only down side for me is the location, which is in the heart of Point Loma. It's definitely out of my way, but the benefits outweigh the inconvenience a thousand times over. Overall, Fascial Stretch Therapy is a fantastic modality and I've come to value it even more than a great massage in terms of its longer-lasting impact on my body. You can't go wrong with John. He's an absolute pro and you won't regret giving his services a try. read more

While my 16 year old son ran the 9/11 Travis Manion 5K, I noticed a booth that Dr Katherine Murphy was overseeing. I have been and know of many chiropractors but was amazed at her ability to also incorporate fitness and pain management. For months I have experienced chronic muscle ache, tightness, neck and shoulder pain due to an active outdoor lifestyle. So many different techniques and approaches have left me very disillusioned. She was quickly able to pinpoint the areas to relieve the pain. Dr.Murphy is more than just a chiropractor. She is preventative medicine and a pioneer in the field of health and wellness. read more

This review is for John's stretching: I came to John because I was suffering from low back and hip pain. I also sit at a desk 7+ hours a day and always felt stiff. He really knows his stuff and takes his time to truly understand the root of the problem. I've now been seeing him for 6 months and feel so much better! I have a long history of back problems and other sports related injuries. At this point I am an expert at Physical Therapy. That said, we bought a new mattress that was WAY too soft, and my back went out. A friend recommended a Chiro and I was skeptical. I made an appointment and was stoked at the results. I went from barely being able to walk, with burning and shooting pains in my back, hips, and legs, to pretty much normal in a week. GAME CHANGER! These guys are awesome. Dr Matt is a genius and his is the best sports chiropractic clinic in San Diego. Their location has changed over the years. I first visited them in Liberty Station, where my daughter was referred for a rotated pelvis and hip issues. Neck problems (my issue) are a bit more tricky- demanding the patient is totally and completely relaxed. This means total confidence in your chiropracter. Only with complete confidence comes total relaxed state for this adjustment. Dr Matt is fantastic, for me, for this! Their office staff is top-notch and well versed in insurance billing for chiropractic. If you are not a believer in chiropractic adjustments, you will be! And if you are- well- WELCOME HOME! read more
