Clean Country Dinning experience

Very good customer service, decent clean restaurant, needs up dating. Food was good for the price. My server was Terrie and she was awesome.

This restaurant was a standalone location with hole in the wall vibes. The food was southern fare but very good. I have blackened whitefish and deviled crab in a seafood combo with black eyed peas, turnip greens, and hush puppies. The veggies were seasoned but not necessarily to my liking. The whitefish was cooked but not hot so that's the reason for the four stars. The appetizers were fried green tomatoes and corn fritters - delicious, but could have been seasoned. The rest of my party had the chicken and dumplings, pork chop, fried liver and onions, and the thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Also, sweet tea was The parking was ample and the restrooms were okay. The building had a leak in the roof but the staff and service was amazing. They were very funny, personable, and attentive.

Became very ill after eating here. My entire family was ill, that is my very last time visiting this restaurant.

Large portions, juicy shrimp and delicious breadsticks. You should give them a try! The shrimp and grits at a hit! Great prices too.

Tuesday evening, 615pm Party of 3, Greeted & Seated quickly It's super cold so although it looks runned down, bring a jacket because it's super cold inside. First couple minutes, we recieved our drinks 2 Unsweetened Ice Tea, 1 Sweetened Ice Tea & 2 Waters Our waitress was informative and nice, kind and patience with us because we were indecisive and didn't reply quick enough when she asked us, "Are we ready to order?", couple times lol. Thank you for having a positive attitude and not wanting to slap us for our delayed response hahaha What we ordered: Kuntry Fried Steak w/fries, baked apples & breadstick (no gravy) Nekkid chicken breast, breadstick, mash potatoes, mac&cheese (no gravy) Porkchop Yore Way (bbq&fried pork chop), mac&cheese, rice (no gravy) and cornbread Everyone enjoyed their dinner, we chose to not have gravy or gravy to the side so we can get a better taste of the food. The main dish we're delicious and we enjoyed it! For the side dishes, we enjoyed the breadstick. Mac&Cheese wasn't that spectacular, it wasn't bad, just not enough to order another bowl. Cornbread wasn't warm enough for the butter to melt in but maybe I'm the only one that orders cornbread expecting the butter to melt on it. Fries and mash potatoes tasted like fries and mash, nothing to brag about. Desserts: MuddPie no vanilla ice cream Po Sundae Peach Cobbler w/vanilla ice cream Everyone enjoyed their dessert, I ordered the Peach Cobbler bc it was super cold and I needed to down a nice hot of anything that isn't coffee/tea bc I don't down hot drinks. Overall, as visitors to niceville, we did enjoy the service&food and will visit again before we leave.

This place reminds me of the greasy spoon place I are in as a child in the south. The atmosphere is friendly and it definitely has its regulars. The food was good and the menu options are southern staples. That wait staff was friendly and helpful. It was. Busy the night we went but the wait wasn't long and. The food was worth it.

Such a cute restaurant! Right on the water, the perfect place to take cute dinner pictures. I…read moreordered a crab cake with grits... which I'm not going to lie was not the best. But the waiter and chef were kind and replaced it with a cheese burger and fries (which was very good!). So I'd give the service a 10/10 just because they were so accommodating!

I'd heard great things about this spot being a local go-to several years ago, so I was looking forward to a solid meal with our large group. Unfortunately, the experience just didn't live up to the reputation. It was exceptionally quiet--perhaps because it's the off-season--but even with the lack of a crowd, the food and service were underwhelming across the board. A lot of us ordered the burgers, and they were just "okay" at best. I went for the one topped with pulled pork, thinking it would be a highlight, but it really didn't work. The flavors didn't mesh, and it was a structural mess--the whole thing just broke apart and became a struggle to eat. Across our entire large group, I don't think anyone was super impressed with their meal. The service didn't help matters, either. We ordered several cocktails, and they were consistently either late or just plain wrong. Since it wasn't a very busy night, there wasn't really a clear reason for the lapse in attention. It's a shame because the setting is beautiful, but between the hit-or-miss drinks and the lackluster food, the whole night felt like it missed the mark.

My son and I check out of our hotel and needed spot to for breakfast. Our target? A charming little…read morecafé that looked like it had big dreams and about 85% of the throw pillows to prove it. We grabbed seats at the bar--prime real estate for both people-watching and silent negotiations with the universe about how long coffee should take to arrive. The menu got a thorough inspection while we waited. And waited. Not a hostile wait. More like... a polite standoff between us and the concept of service. Eventually, victory. Orders placed. I went all in: biscuits and sausage gravy, eggs over easy, maple bacon--the kind of breakfast that doesn't whisper "good morning," it kicks the door in and demands respect. My son went classic with French toast and sausage, a choice that says, "I trust the fundamentals." Now, let's talk ambiance. Coffee in paper cups. Not a dealbreaker, but it does send a subtle message: "We're still figuring some things out." The interior felt like a Pinterest board mid-argument--close, but not quite ready for the reveal episode. Service? Nice. Professional. Also slightly resembling a live-action game of pinball. Our waitress was great, but the overall flow had a certain freestyle jazz quality--improvised, energetic, and occasionally confusing. Refills were more of a "self-reflection exercise" than an offered service, so ordering extra water was a tactical masterstroke. But then... the food arrived. And just like that, all sins were forgiven. That biscuit and sausage gravy? Absolute bullseye. The kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and question whether your childhood memories have been quietly outperformed. It didn't just taste homemade--it tasted like someone's mom was in the back, judging everyone and getting it right. The French toast held its own--golden, solid, no nonsense. Exactly what it needed to be. So here's the deal: the service may have been running a little behind the breakfast parade, but the food? Leading the band, confetti cannon and all. Final verdict: 4 stars. Not because it couldn't be 5--but because it's this close. Tighten up the service, ditch the paper cups, finish decorating like you mean it, and you've got a heavyweight contender. Until then, it remains a gem--slightly unpolished, but absolutely worth the stop.

It's full of yummy choices - one of us had the gooey bun and raved about it! The eggs and grits were cooked perfectly and came out hot! The highlight is the maple bacon - both of us loved it! This is a laid back local joint with great food and a family feel to it. We will definitely be back on our next trip through Florida! BTW we were going to take pictures of the food but we couldn't wait to eat it, oops!
