This place has a great reputation for good food and it lived up to it! Their jalapeño sausage was 10/10 and their pulled pork and brisket was absolutely delicious. The mac and cheese was good, really thick and the tea was tasty as well. They have a quick service and staff that has a good assembly line for service. We decided to try Papa's today because we were craving good BBQ and did not want to drive all the way to Miramar and we are SO GLAD we did. Everything was delicious and the service was great as well. I had the brisket and turkey with fresh cut fries and mac-n-cheese and my boyfriend had turkey and jalapeño cheese sausage with fresh cut fries and baked beans. Even with bbq sauce, I was able to taste an unflavored brisket. This is my last time eating their brisket; it was disappointing. Whatever wood being used to smoke the brisket is not working for me. On a hot, humid mid-July Florida afternoon, we sauntered into this establishment and the first thing we felt was the absolutely refreshing air conditioning. We were greeted by the friendly staff and the owner himself who explained the variety of the meals available. The beef brisket was absolutely fantastic, so good in fact that I ordered an additional two orders to go. The sausage was very tasty and the ribs were so good that the meat fell off the bone. The brisket and pulled pork were perfectly tender. The mac and cheese was amazing. As a southern gal, not many people serve mac and cheese that I love, and Papa's Smokehouse hit it out of the park. The fries are also fresh! All of the employees greeted us with smiles. They checked on us multiple times - and not just one or two employees. The atmosphere is great. Smelled the smoke from down the block and followed my nose. The pulled pork was OK. You could taste Smoke in this. The jalapeño cheese sausage was cheesy with just enough bite. Fries were just basic fries. Should've been a little more crispy and the smoked beans, I didn't taste anything smoky about them just like some canned beans with barbecue sauce on them. I have a choice of five sauces, original sweet bold Carolina, Georgia mustard. The original and the bowl have way too much vinegar. That's all I can. Taste is vinegar in the sauce. Sweet was OK. Had a nice flavor to it. The Karoline does not like any Carolina sauce I've ever seen in my 54 years on this planet. It looks like a salad dressing Some kind of vinaigrette. George mustard it was OK but I'm not a fan of mustard sauce. Service was excellent. read more

So nice to finally have a good BBQ joint in the area. Clean dining area with solid chairs and tables spread evenly about the room (not too close like some places). They actually do have a smokehouse adjacent to parking lot. Outside smelled like a smokehouse should but there was no smokey smell inside. Ordered 1/4 rack ribs and 1/4 lb brisket with collards wife got the pulled pork sammy and Mac n cheese. Portions were very fair for the price and food was ready by the time you pay. Ribs were very meaty and tender definitely not overcooked. Brisket was moist and tender as well. Difficult to pick between them but it's hard to make brisket this good at home so I'll go with that. My collards were really good. There are a few places locally that make good collards but usually they are quite salty. Papas collards had pulled pork or brisket mixed in with just a touch of salt taste. They are only available Th-Fr-Sat. The French fries looked good although we did not try them. They also have pineapple coleslaw that I will try next time we go. My only nitpick is the bbq sauces on the table. There are four choices all vinegar based from sweet to bold. They were so similar it was hard to tell them apart. I love having four choices but maybe swap in a mustard based option or a ketchup based spicy hot or a bbq white sauce or a bourbon sauce for more variety. We really enjoyed our lunch at Papas Smokehouse and will be back. read more

Brisket is bland other than some smoke flavoring and not as tender as desired. Sausage was great and I recommend over the brisket. Shell macaroni and cheese is best described as shell pasta with cheese melted on top. Not creamy and no flavor - seriously no flavor. Bbq beans were amazing and exactly what I would expect.
