Getting a POD for my daughter's move was one of the best decisions. It allowed us to get her stuff out of her condo a slower, stressless pace. And then prep- her condo for sale sooner. I used Pods for my cross-country move. Their back office is terrible!! I never received confirmation of my scheduled delivery. The customer agents are not able to actually assist with even getting access to my account. No confirmation information received in writing. Spent over an hour with a supervisor, no help. Had to be escalated to another supervisor. Still Pods is unable to verify in writing any deliveries - after I paid over $18k to get the move done. Go for U-Haul! read more

I have moved across the country multiple times and PODS is by far the worst provider. Unprofessional, unreliable, and terrible customer service. They tried to cancel on us the day of our cross country move with no apology (the hour before they were scheduled to arrive and we'd already paid). They made multiple scheduling errors. Their customer service representative used the word "retarded" in a joking manner to describe the demeanor of how he was talking. We received expensive citations from the city when we were assured that they would handle all permits. Their drivers are rude, rough, and treat you awful. Our driver had a delayed drop off and told us we had 30 days (from that day) to schedule a pickup. 2 weeks later we were charged an additional month of container rental and customer service said the driver was wrong and offered no solution and left me (the customer) with the short end of the stick. So awful! Don't even bother trying to file a complaint or claim, they make you jump through hoops to file the report and then auto-respond with a generic script via email that doesn't address any of your unique complaints and states they're not responsible. Harry Ford is particularly terrible, he completely ignored my concerns and would not address the use of their team's offensive language (even after sharing that my brother has down syndrome). RUN! This company is an absolute joke. Do you want to have your credit card charged repeatedly for "services" that the company refuses to detail for you, even if you never end up using them in the first place? If so, sign up now! Otherwise, stay far, far away. We thought the PODS concept sounded good and signed up to have one delivered. Unfortunately it didn't fit properly in the driveway, so the driver had to take it away. I assumed we might be charged a set-up or service fee and that's it. To my surprise, however, over the next several months, PODS repeatedly charged my credit card for charges totaling approximately $750 EVEN THOUGH WE NEVER HAD A POD ON OUR PROPERTY! For the past three months, we have been trying to get this resolved. I had to dispute the charges on my credit card, and even then PODS kept trying to charge me. For what? They refuse to explain. My wife has spent hours and hours on the telephone listening to excuses and run-arounds. They are threatening to send us to collection and still want to charge for "services" that they refuse to itemize or identify. I expect we will have to take legal action. If I could give zero stars, I would. I am currently sitting in my car in the PODS parking lot in Warren and they still refuse to help me! I ordered two pods to be delivered to my home for a move two days ago, and arranged for them to be picked up later that night and brought to my new home. I even paid an additional fee for this. The pods arrived, but they were never picked up that night as arranged! They weren't picked up the following day either! I called them last night, they apologized and said they would be removed first thing this morning. This is very important because this house is no longer ours, we closed on this property yesterday. The new owners are here from out of state with a moving truck full of furniture, and because the PODS are in the driveway, they are unable to get into their own home! The PODS company in Warren says they can't remove them today either, and I have to wait until tomorrow! This other family is threatening to call the police on ME because I won't remove the PODS from their private property! I told "Kevin" at PODS that he was on private property and had to remove them, he laughed and said, "go ahead and call the police, what are they gonna do". I'm sitting here in his parking lot and I may just stay here til morning, or until he moves the PODS. The family that now owe the house is very, very angry, and I can't face them. Would never recommended anyone to use Pods ever. We moved from FL to MI and shipped our stuff a week before we moved to make sure it would be there in time. They sent us text messages of ETA for our delivery date, only to be waiting around for hours paat the ETA. Come to find out after multiple calls and chats that our pod wasn't even in the SAME STATE. They made promises for gaurentee delivery the next day but no one followed up with us when we were waiting for our pod AGAIN. Not only where they days late, the delivery driver who dropped the pod off didn't drop it in the spot we wanted causing our pod to block parking spaces for residents. When I asked him about moving it he said "it would take too long" implying laziness to me. I tried calling and chatting with customer service and demanding a supervisor which they won't let you speak with. They said they need 72 hours to let one get back with you. I got 1 email and no responses back from my emails and calls. They promised us a refund that they did not follow through on. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone ever!! Having previously used PODS I was not prepared for the horrendous experience I would have. The driver called at the end of my delivery window letting me know he was on his way. We reviewed where the POD would be delivered since I was not going to be home. I arrive home a few hours later and the is no POD in my driveway. I called PODS and they had no record or notes from the driver. They also were not able to reach the Warren store. They said I would receive a call the following day from the store; I did not. I called PODS again and the best they could offer (since they could not reach the Warren location) was to deliver a couple of days later requiring me to load the POD in less than 24 hours since the pick up time could not be changed. The second delivery day/time roll around and I still do not have a POD. Now I am left scrambling to figure out where to put all of my boxes. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! read more

Twice my POD was not delivered to my home and I still don't have my items. I own an extra grass lot the POD could have been placed on ( the company charges an additional fee for containers on grass but I was okay with that) . I also have a cement surface in my yard the container could have been placed on. Additional I had a permit from the city giving me permission to place the POD on the street if needed. Did I mention I still don't have my items? I've tried several times to speak with a supervisor to no avail. I suggest you avoid dealing with anything or anyone from the Warren warehouse facility. I'm not responsible for neighbors being home or not home. Pod is charging me an additional $80 because my neighbor did not answer their door in order for them to move their car so that they can pick up their pod. How is that my fault. The whole point is for you to pick up the pod and store it..... I can be at work if I need to be at not worry about being their. So because I wasn't home to deal with the neighbor .....I am being charged . That was an unreasonable charge. Then on moving day.... Pod did not come when they said they would.... they were quite late so my movers had to stop moving so the Pod driver could pick up his Pod.... so my movers had to stop their job for this to happen at a rate of $106/hr ..... I was quoted $419.85 to rent a pod for a month. However, after only three weeks I'd fraudulently been charged $748.53. The charges made no sense...$327.89 one day, then $191.78 a few weeks later, then three days later $133.51, $95.35 the next...it had no rhyme or reason and continued until I called Pods and spoke to Sandra. The explanation? Because I had TWO Pods in storage for so long. Um, I have ONE Pod, and it's never been in storage. Their website claims I still owe them $21 too! Someone is randomly over-billing customers at this Warren location. They promised I'd get a refund of $412 several days ago - it still hasn't come. Their drivers were prompt and professional, but I would never trust this company had I known the agreement I approved was a joke and they were planning to take as much money as they wanted. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. They lost my pod for over 3 weeks (yes lost) and my wife and I had to use a blow up mattress, lawn chairs and paper plates for all of these weeks while beginning a new job. Yet, the worst part of the whole endeavor was not in them losing the POD but in dealing with their customer service center, which had no connection to logistics and thus had no idea where my POD was. I am not exaggerating when I say it took well over 30 phone calls to their customer service center and at least 50 hrs of sitting on hold to get all of the issues resolved, and even then I only loosely use the word "resolved". But even his promises of a guaranteed picked up has failed. Then we received a call from a really slick fellow, who we thought was the answers to our prayers! Nope! call and text chat around 3 to ask about window. The agents had no knowledge...so the pod has been in the street for 8 days now and 6 days (Saturday)after pick up day and 5 complete days of additional missed pick up. Calling and updating all these reviews is becoming a second job, but it is a holiday weekend so I guess I have plenty of time... oh well off to Facebook to update and to search the web for other places to review! Keep forgetting to leave a positive review for U-haul to tell this story... like I said it is a holiday weekend and I have the time! *** update After 5 calls and 2 Text chat sessions, we got statements like a 100 percent sure they will pick it up and then told the manager himself is going to pick it up...... nothing!!! On Tuesday 9/1, After not hearing from anyone on that morning, We again called and they said "yup it will be done today". They said we would be receiving a call from the driver shortly. When no call came, we called AGAIN. They reassured us it was happening that day. NO ONE CAME AGAIN. So we TEXT Chatted AGAIN, who assured us that it would be Fixed first thing Wednesday morning! On Wednesday morning we called at 8am again. Again they claimed it would be picked up first thing. As of 11:30am it has not been..... So if you are keeping track that is 6 calls and 2 text conversations, to pick up a pod that is 4 days late. The new owners off my house can't unload because the POD is stuck in the way. I feel horrible!!!! 4 DAYS of working around this POD!!!! All my belongings are protected by a bike lock, unsecured well I am miles away. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND On a side note, I under estimated the amount of PODs I would need. PODs were unable to accommodate my request for additional POD on short notice. *****I called U-HAUL who was able to delivery their boxes on short notice!! They also called the next day to make I was finished packing before picking up! I did not have any issues with drop offs or pick ups, however they do not seem to have anyone who can correct billing issues and just continue to over charge for months. I had the pod at a PODS storage facility for a time and then had it delivered to my location. However, they continued to charge for the storage facility rather than the fee for the pod being stored at my location as originally quoted. It has been 5 months and with numerous phone calls and emails to customer service and emails to a customer advocacy rep. I have stopped payment and it has gone to collections, however I refuse to pay until my billing is corrected and my account credited. Even the rep from the collections department stated that I am still being charged for the storage facility and should not be if the POD is at my location. He stated customer service should be able to correct this, however every time I call they seem to get confused and in the emails they just reply that an incident has been created. The customer advocacy rep seems to have dropped off the face of the earth and she has never responded to my follow up emails nor answers the phone. read more

I called their worthless customer service and no one knew what was going on. After months of back and forth speaking with the most worthless person, Joe Gonniwiecha who stated he was the manager, there was no resolve. I had documentation that I never had it at their facility and they stated "It doesn't matter that is what we quoted you for". I ended up taking them to small claims court and I WON. The Judge stated they had to pay me back for all the months they charged me. At this point they are refusing to follow the court ruling and I will have to file another lawsuit against them. They do not respond to your request. When they picked up the POD they drove thru my lawn and ripped up the grass in my new house!! PODS IS THE WORST COMPANY!!!! My family and I have lost 4 days to the incompetence of PODS corporate and local territory manager Joe Gonniwiecha PODS Territory Manager. For 4 days we have been on the phone w/ corporate and have spoken to a total of 6 people, not including Joe and Michelle at the 6700 E 14 Mile Rd. Warren, Michigan location and all were incompetent, fraudulently charged our credit card and and made promises to call back with a resolution.... Still waiting for promised resolution. The local office is no better JOE got on the phone and made promises to rectify the situation. Here is our timeline: 1. POD delivered 7/6 2. POD removed within the hour on 7/6 3. Call explaining why the 1st POD "wasn't correct and wasn't an out of state POD" When my husband CALLED TO QUESTION he was told by corporate that we were lied to. There's no difference in an in state or out of state POD. The incident was escalated and we then received a call from Joe Goniwiecha who explained that it is an internal issue b/t corporate and his location- that the PODS are indeed the same but they (Joe and his team) are "territorial" w/ the PODS in South East Michigan. My response was that has nothing to do with us and we shouldn't be involved, nor inconvenienced by their inter corporate garbage. He agreed. He then said he would PERSONALLY come and get the POD if our issues weren't resolved. He agreed that if our issues were indeed resolved we would proceed w/the pick up of A FULL container to be shipped I AND ALSO VERY CLEARLY stated that if our issues weren't resolved they needed to pick the POD immediately. AGAIN, JOE GONIWIECHA ASSURED ME THAT HE WOULD PICK UP THE POD HIMSELF EVEN THOUGH THAT IS NOT HIS JOB ON SATURDAY to not further inconvenience us. 6. POD still in our driveway day 4 1:50 pm and now Joe is MIA and our calls aren't being answered and this is his corporate cell phone. WE MOVE FRIDAY!! I just spoke with the RUDEST and most UNPROFESSIONAL woman at the PODS Warren, Michigan location (734)637-6755. I left a message requesting an on-site quote due to the issue of power lines and close proximity of a construction job at my location. When she called back, she immediately asked "how did you get my number?" I was very confused at this question as I had gotten her number from PODS, so I responded "PODS." She then responded with, "someone is going to get in a lot trouble!" I was again very confused at her response and asked "why?" She then went into an irrelevant discussion that had NOTHING to do with why I was calling. I then reminded her as to why I had called and as I was speaking, she rudely interrupted me saying, "we don't do that!" I again tried to explain my circumstance and again she interrupted me. At that point, I told her I had gotten a quote from another company and would use them instead. She responded, "well we can still help you" and I said "no thank you" and she hung up on me!! Terrible customer service!!! I am on my third attempt to have my pod repositioned as it was placed incorrectly the first time. I made sure there was 12 feet of width for positioning as instructed, and was told after delivery there was not enough room and it was placed in my driveway. scheduled to have it moved, made sure there was now almost 14 feet of width and took the day off work to be there. driver never showed up and after calling they told me the driver drove by and said it was not accessible without ever leaving his truck or calling to let me know he was on his way. I am now down to 2 weeks to move my belongings and have spent almost $400 in rental and positioning fees and taken time off work and still do not have the unit where it is supposed to be!
