Absolutely do not come here if you have an emergency or if you expect basic respect and care…read more It has been a total of 15 business days since my MRI and I have yet to receive my results despite calling almost every day. I have since had to visit the emergency room three times for my injury and cancelled two orthopedic appointments, being told I need surgery ASAP but not being able to schedule it since I do not have my MRI results. I experienced the same amount of rude and lacking customer service as most of these comments describe. For my first MRI appointment at 9:30 pm, I waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes just to be told they were not able to see me due to lack of insurance clearance. I called my insurance on the spot and they verified that it was sent over DAYS before. When I told the receptionist, she simply rescheduled me without explanation. The next WEEK I was finally rescheduled and receptionist joked that the clearance was there all along, after I waited again for 50 minutes after my appointment time. Seriously??? I cannot walk and am in a wheelchair. The MRI techs consistently asked me to bend my legs and to walk as I was actively groaning in pain. Just appalling. Good luck ever trying to get through to this facility over the phone, also. You have better luck calling RadNet directly and asking them to transfer you to this location as they do NOT answer the phone by any means. I wish I could give this facility a 0 star rating. Receptionists are extremely rude and unprofessional over the phone as well, hung up on me while I was talking and was very annoyed when I called back (they picked up only after 5 missed calls---WOW!) Never have I encountered such a negligible medical facility that made me feel more insignificant as a patient as this center.

The MRI room is spacious, though quite cold (which I expected), and it appears they operate with only one machine, so each time slot is reserved for one patient. That actually helped the experience feel more private and less rushed. Since this was my first MRI, I was understandably nervous. After completing the initial paperwork, the technician came in and carefully explained each step of the process. I appreciated that they didn't rush me -- when I hesitated and needed a few minutes to think things through, they reassured me that there was no pressure and encouraged me to take my time. They also explained that if I truly felt uncomfortable, I could always discuss options with my doctor, which helped me feel more in control. When the technician returned and noticed I still seemed a bit anxious, they checked in again to make sure I was okay. That small moment of emotional reassurance made a big difference. While MRIs are naturally stressful, especially for first-timers, the staff's calm attitude and clear communication helped me feel safe and supported throughout the process. Overall, a very smooth and considerate experience. The professionalism combined with genuine patient care really stood out, and I'd feel comfortable returning here if I ever needed another scan.

I really appreciated the convenience -- it fit our work schedules perfectly and gave us flexibility without locking into an appointment. We arrived on a Wednesday around 4:00 pm, and the whole process was smooth. Check-in was quick, the wait was less than 10 minutes, and the X-ray itself took no more than 5 minutes. Altogether, we were in and out in under 30 minutes. During the visit I also used their restroom, which was clean and well-maintained -- always a good sign in any medical facility. Both the receptionist and the X-ray technician were courteous, efficient, and professional. Overall, it was a no-fuss, positive experience. I'd gladly recommend Rancho Open MRI for their convenience, efficiency, and professionalism.

Scheduling is great, too - the first appointment available was only two days away. My doc originally sent my referral for another radiology provider, who uses a "traditional" MRI at their RC location. After painfully walking across the parking lot and climbing steep stairs into the trailer, I got about halfway into that machine and realized I wasn't going to be able to breathe! I'm a big guy, and not particularly claustrophobic, but I can't imagine someone of even normal size being anything but terrified by these things without substantial sedation. Remembering HSI and their Open MRI from a couple years ago, I jumped through the hoops to get my referral redirected to them. The difference is like night and day. The office decor and people immediately put you at ease and the open machine didn't make me feel claustrophobic at all, let alone restrict my breathing like the other one.

The technician who wrote my report was very incompetent and missed several crucial and obvious concerns. This MRI technician missed a bone fracture & an obvious severe nerve issue as well as down playing my L5-S1 degenerative disc issue, documenting the issue as mild!! My Dr found many omissions & inconsistencies with this MRI report! If you are in pain & want your issue addressed DO NOT USE THIS IMAGING OFFICE!! This was a horrible experience and delayed my treatment!!!

Day of appt comes around and the wanted me to pay $240 ish as my patient portion. There's no one to speak to in person that knows anything. It's ridiculous. They need to fix their whole Radnet system. As far as the radiology techs, they're great. Professional, knowledgeable and the facility itself is clean. It's the whole appt and payment problem I kept running into. Seems others who were there also had issues with one thing or another. Fast forward to earlier this month, I came again for a mammo. This time no issues with insurance and them incorrectly trying to bill me up front for anything. Again, no issues with radiology techs. But their whole phone tree, outsource radnet system for appts, billing, auth. etc. is absolutely horrible.

Don't make the mistake of entering this facility because of the rating, like I unfortunately did!…read more My prior clinic of 15+ years stopped doing diagnostic mammograms (a more advanced screening for ppl with high risk and/or prior issues) which forced me to find a new location. On Monday, 12/15 I entered this facility for a breast ultrasound (to follow up on a lump) and a diagnostic mammogram. Upon my arrival 30 min early, three ladies sat behind glass checking in patients and talking amongst themselves (non work related). They all seemed like they hated their jobs and the clients. No smiles, no warmth, no hurry, no care in the world. It took me 20 min to get to the receptionist...and I was 4th in line. Luckily, I had done most the paperwork online prior to my arrival. I sat for a mere 5 min before the tech called me back. Was greeted with a frown and a total attitude. I asked her if she was doing my ultrasound 1st as my appt. stated. (Because I wanted to bring my daughter in to observe. Explained to her how my daughter was about to graduate UCSD and wanted to go into radiology tech school, so I thought her seeing the process would be beneficial). As soon as I asked, the tech snapped, scowled, and with a mean tone raised her voice and said "absolutely not! You should know better than to ask that!" She never told me she was doing the mammogram 1st, I KNOW she can't come in for that! But I was treated like I was totally stupid for even asking. Clearly the tech wasn't listening when I said ultrasound. This question instantly infuriated her! She led me to my changing room and told me to put on my robe. As I was doing so, she opened the door and started asking me who in my family has had breast cancer. To which I replied, "it's all in the paperwork I filled out prior to my appt". She asked me the same question 2 more times, while I'm still trying to disrobe. VERY humiliating! So the 4th time, I rattled off the list of women on both sides of my family..."aunt, aunt, cousin"...and she abruptly stoped me and said, "your cousin doesn't matter." I quickly replied with "she matters to me! And cousins were asked about on the paperwork I filled out". As if I'm supposed to know when to stop rattling off family members when she insisted 4x! In the mammography room, she rudely asked me why I'm here. I replied, "for my diagnostic mammogram." She gave me a look of utter disgust and repeated the question. Same answer was given. By the 3x she asked the question, I was ready to explode! But I politely said, "for my yearly diagnostic mammogram". She rolled her eyes and raised her voice and rudely said, "I need to know what your issues are?" So I started rambling off all my issues from the past 15yrs and she stopped me halfway thru and said, "where's all your paperwork on these problems?" "In my locker on a flash drive" I respond. She then tells me to hurry and go get it. So I do, and when I presented her with the flash drive, she says, "we can't accept that because you could give us a virus!" Clearly this woman hears nothing coming outta my mouth because I told her it was on a flash drive before I retrieved it! Which by the way, the woman who originally booked my appt told me to do. At this point, I had enough. My anger & frustration reached a boiling point. I looked at her and snapped! Loudly told her "I'm leaving! You have the worst attitude, zero professionalism, you're a rude bully, and there's no way I'd trust you to properly do my examination or read my scans!" I ran out of the room crying, no apologies from her, just nothing! NO ONE should leave such a sensitive, personal test crying! I hope all those who still go to this facility get the proper care they so desperately deserve! If you get the miserable, rude, robotic tech I did, there's no way she's properly examining you or your scans! God forbid she misses something due to her lack of compassion and care. As long as she's employed at this facility, you're at risk. I highly advise you find another location so you don't jeopardize your health! And if the management knows she's a problem, shame on them too!
