We knew the color was perfect and he'd wear it forever so we doubled our budget and got it for him. It looks so good and he just loves it! The owner even threw in a couple of posters with the Riverside, CA orange crate label design. The location is not in a strip mall. It is a warehouse type business park. Nowadays streetwear trends have shifted, blurring the line between casual fashion and high fashion. It's made its way into high fashion, collaborating with major fashion heavyweights like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Vetements, etc. to list a few. Kings to me is what pure streetwear is all about at its core. No bots, no asinine reseller mark-ups, no insane pricetags, no bullshit. Just tried and true streetwear styles from iconic streetwear brands that have withstood the test of time. I'm thankful Kings and others like it still exist (Proper, BAIT, Bowls LA and Union are both kind of). I say kind of because Bowls opens whenever they want and Union definitely has a certain audience in mind with the brands they carry. Anyway, maybe I'm looking back at the history of streetwear with rose-tinted glasses, but there's no denying that the fact that a place like Kings can still thrive despite the fact that a lot of boutiques I used to frequent have either shifted to online exclusively or just shuttered their doors permanently is respectable. The fact that you can still walk into a place like this and get some sick drip without playing bullshit games and waiting for drops or buying bots to cop shit is something I truly appreciate. The staff is cool as always and if anything, their selection has improved over the years and they've definitely stepped up (heh) their shoe game as well. Anyway, my very long drawn out point is that Kings is still king when it comes to finding streetwear locally with an excellent selection. They carry all the brands; new and old. It's like Costco. However, during my…read moremost recent visit today, I witnessed an interaction between a manager/supervisor and an employee that I found very unprofessional and uncomfortable. While I understand that workplace issues need to be addressed, the employee was repeatedly spoken to in a degrading manner and was ultimately told to "go over there and do your thing." This interaction took place openly in front of coworkers and customers, making it difficult not to hear. In my opinion, this type of feedback should be handled privately and respectfully. Employees deserve to be corrected without being embarrassed or humiliated in front of others. I hope management will take this feedback into consideration, as the interaction significantly affected my otherwise positive impression of the store.

Normal Msrp was $425 and they ended up doing $361 for the watch instead which was way better than what I saw for the watch online. We walked in and said hello and already the old white lady gave us attitude saying she was stressed that there were so many people in the store already. Ok? That's the greeting we got lol already strange. But then we notice that everyone else in the store was white and we were the only two Asians. It just felt weird when another group of white girls came in and got a great greeting and immediate help/attention. My sister made a comment about it being a little hot in the store but was ignored. As soon as the white girl a few minutes later made the same comment, all of a sudden the old lady could get up and turn the thermostat down. She then told the group of white girls that the thermostat was down and to let her know if it was too cold. Ok fine whatever, we're here for clothes not customer service. My sister and I find outfits to try on. I look around the dressing area and there's NO SIGNS saying to not go in without an employee. So I go in first to try stuff on while my sister waits outside. (The only sign we could see was on the wall that said 2 max items in the room. So us being good people took two items in while my sister waited with the other outfits outside). As I'm naked in the dressing room, the old lady suddenly pops up asking who's in the dressing room and being super aggressive. She says we're not allowed to go in without an employee. (Which is weird because there were two other customers in there before me and she didn't bat an eye? and also there were no signs anywhere that were visible) I say sorry and tell her to wait and that I'm naked like three times. She keeps trying to get me to come outside of the dressing room. I tell her I'm naked and she says to just come outside anyways? LADY, you're lucky I was in a vulnerable position because I should've been yelling more. After the 3rd time, I oblige her and come out HALF NAKED. She tells me I'm not allowed to try things on without permission and snatches the items from my hand. After being ignored, not talked to, and then being told to come out of a dressing room half naked is both rude and humiliating. We were made to feel like criminals and less than. It was such a surreal experience. After the old lady took the clothes from my hands and I was able to finally put clothes on, I ask where the sign is that says I can't try on clothes? At this point a younger employee helps us and points at a sign THAT'S HANGING ON A POLE AND ON THE FLOOR NOT VISIBLE TO ANYONE. I tell her how unprofessional it is and that the other employee was rude and yanked me out of a dressing room with barely my shorts and bra on. The old lady doesn't even apologize or acknowledge us. At this point the store felt hostile and unwelcoming. We left without trying anything on. The old white lady continued to ignore us and cater to the other white customers.
