I had the misfortune of hiring MKC South Florida, Inc. for a plumbing job and I deeply regret it. A…read moreplumber named Johhny (spelled with two h's) sounded desperate on the phone, repeatedly promising to stay until I was satisfied. He gave a very low quote for a drain snake and video. I wanted a video because a previous company's drain snake job failed quickly, and I wanted to check for underlying issues. Because you cannot run a video through a clogged line, I had to pay for a second drain snake. After giving the low quote, Johhny insisted on a $650/year maintenance plan. I refused, but he kept pushing it. THAT IS A SCAM!!! If your sewage lines work, there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO PAY $650.00 A YEAR TO CLEAN THEM. I told him I have lived in family-owned homes since 1977 and this was my first main line clog. Unfortunately, I ignored my judgment and hired him based on the low quote. He did the drain snake from the toilet, claiming that is company policy. He lacked a new wax ring and claimed my old one looked fine--it did not. It is standard operating procedure to replace a $6.00 wax ring whenever a toilet is removed. I offered to pay for it, but noted it must be replaced before reinstallation. He clearly resented this standard request. He bought it, but then left sticky wax stains all over my tile floors in both bathrooms, bedroom, family room, and hallway, which took me hours to clean. Worse, while reinstalling the toilet, he claimed the flange was broken. He showed me a cracked PVC plate. He then wanted $500.00 to install a new one, claiming he didn't break it. I knew that was a lie. I bought my house brand new. In January 1993, the original plumber failed to install a round PVC part, causing the toilet to rock like a rocking chair. I called the contractor and learned the significance of the flange right then. If it had been broken before Johhny arrived, I would have known. THIS JOHHNY CHARACTER BROKE THE FLANGE, DELIBERATELY OR OTHERWISE. AS THE SCUM THAT HE IS, HE DENIED IT; BUT I KNOW WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY THAT HE BROKE IT!!! Johhny criticized the previous plumber for using grout instead of caulk for sealing the base of the toilet when putting it back in place. Yet, Johhny used needer grout nor caulk, as he didn't do it. I did not realize it until he was gone. A day later, I learned the relatively new toilet valve is now leaking. This hoodlum Johhny caused this too. The moral is that his quote was cheaper than others, but ended up being much more expensive than others. There's a Spanish saying I learned from my mother: "Hay veces que lo barato sale caro," meaning "Sometimes what is cheap turns out to be expensive." This experience was exactly that! This inept ruffian scammer tried to upsell me on unnecessary services and cost me more than the highest quote I received. Side note: Their Google address (12855 SW 136th Avenue, Suite 221, Miami, FL 33186) is actually A+ Storage (West Kendall 2). Calling a rented storage unit "Suite 221" shows a clear intent to deceive consumers. I should have remembered my mother's advice and never let this conniving scammer Johhny persuade me with a low quote that turned into the most expensive quote quickly!!!
