Only gave them 2 stars because the treatment and detoxing part of Plum Creek is amazing! Definitely helped me on the road to recovery. But the admin side is fucking dreadful! I've been trying to get my forms filled out for disability for my job for the time I was at plum creek. And it's been 4 months now and I can't seem to get anyone to help except for my old guidance counselor Leslie (who's awesome). But even then I haven't been able to get my forms filled out correctly. All I need Plum Creek todo is tell my job why I couldn't work. It's really simple. But Plum Creek can't seem to get their shit together. It already took 3 months just to get my medical records. Which is MINE!!! All in all the recovery is good. But if you need anything else after your stay. Good luck!! read more

My name is Allison, I'm 21 years old and I struggle with alcoholism and addiction as well as multiple disorders including: Bipolar 1, BPD, ADHD, Somatic Symptom Disorder, and PTSD. I tried to get sober by myself on February 25, 2024. Staying sober by myself, without any healthy coping mechanisms, was extremely hard. I decided I needed a higher level of care. I had never been to rehab or treatment before. I called 15 different rehabs on March 5, 2024. They all said I needed a higher level of care than they could offer. Plum Creek Recovery Ranch called me and said they could help me. I was skeptical, but I was tired and just needed help. My intake process was a little scary. Having to tell basically my life story to a complete stranger, was intimidating. But the intake staff was so compassionate and calm. They assured me that life was about to get easier, and to my surprise, they were right. They asked me when I was ready to come and I tried to ask for a weeks time to get my life together. They said that ideally, I should come the next day. I remember being so angry that I couldn't have a week to just get my life together. I realize now that I would have f*cked my life up worse if I stayed where I was for one more week. I probably would have died either intentionally or from an overdose. They had someone pick me up from Dallas the next day, March 6th. The driver shared his experiences with me and said rehab was the best thing he ever did and that it would really help me. When we arrived at Plum Creek, a woman came out and gave me a hug and said she was happy I was there. Her name was Lorena. She had a very warm feel to her and her smile was comforting. The rest of the intake process was kind of a blur. When I was finished with my intake, I went up to the women's lounge. Everyone was so welcoming. Plum Creek was an amazing experience. They showed me how to cope with life in healthy ways. It provided me structure and support. IT introduced me to AA, NA, Smart Recovery, and Dharma. It helped me to see that living life on life's terms was possible. The Recovery Support Staff had an amazing impact on my life. They have said some of the most heart wrenching words that snapped me back into reality. Miss Elisabeth was our teacher and she was very articulate and helped guide us to think in healthy ways. Emma was my therapist and she helped me to really dive into my past and the way it was affecting my current life. Plum Creek allowed me to heal. The client advocate helped me to find an aftercare plan. They found me a therapist, and intensive outpatient program, and a sober living home. I am now almost 4 months sober and happier than I have ever been in my life. I would 10/10 recommend Plum Creek to anyone who is struggling with cooccurring disorders. read more

I won't speak on the treatment and facility- as my loved one was in treatment, not myself. HOWEVER- The business and administration office, and anyone affiliated with logistics at the facility are the laziest, most incompetent, and disorganized group of people I have ever encountered in my life. I am going on FOUR MONTHS of trying to get them to file an accurate insurance claim after paying over $4,000 out of pocket to them to meet my deductible for the year and them submitting an incomplete claim to Cigna. They claim they are in meetings 24/7 any time they are presented with any sort of conflict or discrepancies regarding billing- at this point I'm assuming the topic of their "meetings" is: "How to be an expert at giving people the run around". They are manipulators and gaslighters- and make it nearly impossible to speak to anyone and will only "relay the message". Which by the way- they will also do to you if you have concerns or questions about your loved one's care while in the facility. It's very evident that all of their time is poured into BS marketing, blogging, and social media presence to get people in the door, but once you have paid- you are the least of their concerns. Plum Creek is costing me thousands of dollars in medical expenses due to their negligence and incompetence. When I went along with their choice of care in regards to my loved one, we got unsupervised visitations, that were pleasant and cordial. When i politely raised concerns or had questions about the process, my family was put on "supervised visitations." This place is filled with a bunch of sober con artists who prey on the weak. I waited a week to write this, thought I'd calm down. Full transparency, I am a 68-year hold college graduate with over 45 years of experience in my field. I am not a drug addict, never been arrested, never seen the inside of a jail cell and never got a DWI - just a guy that had a few drinks after work for a long time. I spent 26 days at PCRR and here are my observations... Most residents (if not all) at PCRR are funded by insurance or court ordered. I'm almost retired and just joined Medicare which does not cover rehabilitation. I wrote a check out of my retirement account for $34,000.00 (high expectations) which should have covered 35-40 days. That should have been a huge red flag. When insurance runs out on most residents they are quickly released, some at 28 days or less. If you're looking for a spot to help you figure out the source of your addiction - PCRR isn't it. I don't know if any rehabilitation center can make that claim. In 26 days the goal was to get you thinking straight (if at all possible) and put you on a direction to the 12 step program with AA or NA. Short version- Of the 7 classes each day, almost 7 hours - the PCRR staff prepares maybe 60% of recovery programs. The balance is mostly the staff asking the residents what they'd like to do or discuss (not all liked or could play Pickleball and all residents have heard each ones back story at least 5 times each week) One night prior to an AA meeting we were told we were having a guest speaker. I asked if this was the typical first 15 minutes of the speaker telling us his/her back story and the last 45 minutes of the residents telling him ours? See above - we've heard these many times. The Sr staff member replied (ask the speaker what he wants to do. Again, why are the residents responsible for recovery programming?)Is it laziness or is the staff just not caring? I don't know but this is a common thread. Word of warning - Do not believe the PCRR sales brochure or at least 50% of what you are told. Some examples- My family was told at the very beginning we would have an exit session with counselor prior to leaving the facility and the program to discuss the time spent at PCRR. Never happened - never discussed. Never met or was introduced to the staff member responsible for coordinating any after care. Prior to leaving on day 26, PCRR upper management decided that I chose to leave Against Medical Advice (AMA). I asked the CEO for a reason and was informed by him that a senior staff member made that decision because I didn't stay long enough. Had nothing to do with my attendance in class, my engagement/participation in classes and the intangible actions that I provided every day. Their decision changed for the 3rd time, and I was off the AMA list. The CEO told me I had a great effect on the other residents and would be missed, He also asked me to return for Alumni day. None of that mattered because PCRR had my $34,000 and wanted to keep as much of it as possible. Just a Money Grab! At the end of the day the CEO said I was due a $9,600 refund - still waiting for the check. Prior to leaving I requested some information, a full financial accounting of my stay. Specifically wanted to know my daily charges for room and board and a printout of all medical charges to my credit card. The nurses are great at dispensing meds but there is no rate card or are you given an amount to be charged to your credit card on file. In some cases, I heard PCRR would contact a resident after leaving for payment of outstanding expenses. One resident told me he was charged $180 for three (3) weeks of Tylenol. Never received a final accounting prior to leaving. Every day the residents are monitored, Staff makes note of where you are every hour - even when you're sleeping. If you can't be found a search party is formed usually by the residents.. Each staff member submits a report detailing their shift to upper management. The CEO told me that he really isn't aware of the daily activities or he would have gotten more involved. I guess he doesn't read the 15 or so daily reports. When residents are absent from class or a required session, the staff instructs the residents to find out where they are and encourage them to attend. I thought that was a staff responsibility, but they prefer not to get up from their chair. Dining - breakfast is the best meal of the day as long as Ms. Lulu is there. All other staff is 50/50. Amazes me that you could run out of milk on a Thursday and restocking can't be done until the following Wednesday. Almond Milk and Cheerios doesn't work for me. Again, High expectations. All of what I said is true and can be corroborated but in the eyes of PCRR I'm just an addict. My only advice is Be Careful What You Wish For! There's more but I better stop... read more
