It's figuratively and literally more than a bike race, it's a fundraiser that supports cancer research and survivorship through the CancerFree KIDS Pediatric Cancer Research Alliance. It brings thousands of people together for a cause that matters deeply, while also creating one of the most electric, family-friendly atmospheres you'll find in Cincinnati. From a business perspective, this was a massive missed opportunity. The streets were filled with people eager to support local shops and enjoy the events which is exactly the kind of audience any small business would hope for. Instead of welcoming that energy, Patty's turned it away and insulted the very people walking by their storefront. I love supporting small, local businesses, but this kind of response shows a disconnect from the community that makes Hyde Park special. I hope they reconsider how they respond to events like this in the future.
