Our annual Christmas tree hunt goes not farther than Schilter Family Farm…read more The Thanksgiving week end usually slams this tree farm. However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

Definitely deserving of a spot in the top 10 pumpkin patches in Washington!…read more I've been going to pumpkin patches almost yearly since I was 4 so I consider myself somewhat of an expert. Here's my highs and lows and good enoughs: 5 Stars to: -Plenty of Photo setup spots -Apple cider slush sundae -FRESH & HOT Roasted Corn -Many adult AND kid friendly activities -pumpkin assortment 1 Star for: -No back up generator (Power went out while at the farm and the poor animals were huddled up closer than the people were) -flavorless burgers 2.5 stars (aka good enough) for: -cold apple cider donuts -friendly but antisocial staff -gift shop (Felt more like a very small, 'small business' fair) I think the ticket price was a decent value for what was available!

The Pumpkin Patch is our annual go-to place for all things Fall!…read more We have been going here for about four years and the experience has been wonderful each year, and gets a wee bit better each time. When we first started going, the Patch was very simple ... they had a large pumpkin patch and little stand with other smaller pumpkins, gourds, straw bales, corn stalks, and the like. They also had fun wooden cutouts of famous kid movie characters to stick your head through and get pictures, along with a number of old-timey tractors for the kids to climb up onto. Each year they have added more, and this year it was full of kid-friendly activities. There is a small little playground with a slide and see-saw, a large tractor pulled hay rack ride, a faster four-wheeler pulled ride where you can sit in barrels like a train, a small corn maze, a straw pit for the kids to jump into, and a pumpkin cannon (the littles might need headphones for the loud boom). They have also added a little cafe stand with beverages and treats. Dollar for dollar, this is a great value for your money. Let's face it, everything is getting expensive nowadays, but your money is gonna go much farther here at Goodrich Rd. Pumpkin Patch than at other places. Plus, it's not overwhelmingly crowded and crazy-filled with near amusement park type attractions like some other more expensive patches. The owners and staff that work there are extremely friendly and 100% family-friendly. They know folks come here for fun and to be out with the family - they treat everyone like that and are helpful, kind, and caring. I highly recommend the Pumpkin Patch and as long as we're living in these parts, we will Always go there every October for our Fall needs!

They don't charge you for every little thing. Entry and Playing is free. Prices for pumpkins and other squash are reasonable. My kids LOVE the hay pit. There is a covered area with seating near the play ground. But honestly, more than anything, it's just the feeling, the atmosphere. It's an unpretentious, welcoming place designed for people to enjoy spending time. The family the operates it is kind and gracious. Just can't say enough great things about this place.

Plenty of activities for the little ones including a free corn maze that was decent size. A train ride for small children was constantly cruising around the property. There were some beverages and food for sale ( Hawaiian teriyaki) which we didn't partake of although others seemed to be enjoying it. There was also a one man band playing ,very well I might add, fifties music. That was one of my favorite parts of the visit. Parking was super organized and directed by a welcoming gentleman with a smile on his face. No entry fee to get in but the pumpkins were a tad bit more expensive at $0.50/lb compared to about $0.33/lb at a few other farms. The price difference was okay with us because the experience was lovely. One of the women that was there working took time to take a family photo for us and offered to take more. She was very sweet. She was wearing a costume that looked as if she was riding a horse. One small tip to those with bee allergies: Bring your Epipen. You should really bring it everywhere anyway but there were a few bees buzzing around. Nothing crazy but where there is fruit and produce there will always be that one unruly bee that finds the person with the bee allergy. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful little farm. We truly enjoyed our visit.

Follow directions from whatever maps app. Parking is in the field next to the farm produce stand. Not sure when produce stand is open but it looked more lively by the time we left around 11:30. I purchased tickets online and sort of wandered into the store because it was unclear where to redeem tickets. We checked out the wall ball game and jumped on the jump pad and made big bubbles. Spun the chairs but didn't actually get in them, checked out the funny little singing tractor and sat on some bulls that had no lasso. We then wandered over to where there was a sign for sunflower field and waited for the tractor. We would've gotten a snack but settled on some waters from the store. ($2 each). Each admission comes with 1 sunflower bloom, you can get more but we weren't really interested. It was fun at the sunflower field to admire the flowers and go around the photo op spots. We both enjoyed trying to find the perfect flower. Good advice from the people at the stand to wait to pick a flower until you're waiting for the tractor - sunflowers droop pretty quick (mine perked up at home). They package it up for taking home nicely at the stand. I think this would be a good trip for an exuberant 4-6 year old and the full train of women coming out to the fields as we were leaving seemed to indicate it's a joyful ladies day trip. If you want flower pics, you can't lose here. 4 stars because it was worth doing but nothing special and I was hoping some of the games were geared towards slightly older kids.
