The best small countryside pumpkin patch I have ever been to! We drove (~50 miles/1 hr) out to Smiths Farm from the Chehalis WA Denny's restaurant after having breakfast (included Pumpkin Pancakes). Denny's is less than a mile at Exit 76 off I-5. Hwy 6 (Exit 77 off I-5) winds through small towns and the countryside along the Willapa River. It was a beautiful October day, we enjoyed the colorful fall foliage! The turn onto Camp 1 Rd is directly across from Willie Keils Grave Historical Marker. An interesting historical stop in itself. From Hwy 6 stay on Camp 1 Rd, you are less then 2 miles from Smiths. No entry fees!!!! There is plenty of free parking close to the patch! The owners have worked hard to create many things to see and do, I was very impressed. Everything was neat and tidy. The family farm is nicely laid out, with all games, shopping and other attractions set close to the pumpkin patch. There was a fun 10-foot-tall roll the ball game. You had to pull the handles attached to ropes to adjust the level of a board as you guided a ball along a cut out wooden pathway. Forgive me for not knowing the name. It was a game you could have seen 100 years ago. Free to play and all skill. It was fun to see both kids and adults try their luck! There were several great photo opportunities for one or more people, including a large backdrop in front of the pumpkin patch where a group of ten people could have snuggled in together. We shopped the cute hand-made wooden Halloween yard art. I loved the $5 hanging Ghost & $10 Black Cats stakes with name plates! I had to take some of these home... LOL! They had cute handmade/painted wooden 3D fence art. Dogs and roosters who were reclining across top/horizontal boards ($20-30). We also saw a huge birdhouse, 3 or 4 stories tall ($40). Adorable crochet pumpkin orange Jack-O-Lantern hats! There was a nice assortment of homemade/sewn bowl cozies and oversized mug mats & coaster. The owner made a great ATV pulled kids oil drum car ride! The 5 black cars are decorated with Jack-O-Lanters, ghost and moons. The pumpkin patch is neatly setup with walkways and a huge scarecrow. There are wheelbarrows to help you take you large pumpkin/s back to the wash station and out to your car/truck/SUV... This is just some of what is there, they have other games, play areas and items for sale. The people at the farm were friendly, helpful, and very welcoming!
