The rocks placed in September of last year
    Crystal B.

Pleasant Valley Memorial is very unprofessional and insensitive to the feelings of their grieving families. We laid my brother to rest in March of last year and since then we have had nothing but problems with the office and maintenance workers. We constantly have to ask for the grass to be cut or reseeded since my brother has a standing stone separated from the lawn. They refuse to fix the broken fence or set any repellent for the deers to stop eating the fresh flowers. The biggest problem is now we asked permission in SEPTEMBER of last year if we could place rocks around his stone to prevent the weeds from climbing up, we were told it was okay and to go ahead and place them. Now almost a year later, on a visit to see my brother we arrive to find the rocks and what was buried with them (a bracelet ) had been removed and thrown away! With no warning! No call! When we asked why the lady at the front office said because it said so in the rules. When we asked her to send us where it stated so in the rules she ignored us. She has now stopped answering all of our calls and nothing is being done about what they stole from my brother! I went to personally ask for the bracelet back to the office and was told they didn't even know why the rocks were removed. No one can tell us what's going on!

She really helped put my shell-shocked mother at ease and she personally attended the burial. She also helped protect my mother from DD214 military record scams that charged ridiculous fees. We chose to provide our own casket from Costco because it was much cheaper and life insurance had not paid out yet and the government auto-withdrew 3 months of my dad's payments out of their bank account regardless of death date. Nicole and staff were very accommodating for our outside vendors and I appreciate them seeing us as humans and not just cash cows. They really do provide dignity and respect when you need it the most. *The body pick up team from our home, however, was not so great. I understand it is an on-call position at weird hours, but workers should be long-term partnered up with matching communication styles and balanced lifting abilities. My husband should not have had to step in to prevent an accident on the stairs. It seemed like it was this team's first time ever doing this job or working together and more training was needed.

My husband retired military and a date was to be determined by Arlington Cemetery for his burial. It was four and 1/2 months waiting for the burial, but Brandon was on top of every detail throughout every process. It will be 1 year next month since his burial. Demaine in Springfield helped me so much at one of the hardest times of my life. Patty was also caring and compassionate from the very first call when my husband passed. I highly recommend the care of Brandon and Patty if you are ever in need. I will never forget the comfort that I felt knowing Brandon was taking care of everything. Reach out to them and you will experience true compassion when you need it most.

The Advent memorial room and facilities are intimate, private and a beautiful setting. We could bring in food and snacks to share with friends and family who attended the memorial.
