Doing business with this company is remarkably impersonal. Met salesperson once but they don't share contact info so the only way to contact the company is via calling the operator and leaving a message. Bizarre. I did buy the solution that was proposed but regret doing it. Can't believe the company does business this way because what I bought was a small, sub 10k job I used as a test to whether I'd consider them to do my whole property, which I will doing imminently. read more

Dealing with this company was anything but pleasant. The only person at this company that I felt was decent was Macon, however his kindness and apologies were not enough to keep me with them... when the lawn crew recked my landscaping beds and gouged my sod, instead of correcting the error, I was told by Kelly the VP, that I should find another company to work with, which I did and they've been fantastic... my new landscaping company aerated my yard and punctured the piping for my sprinkler system that Pleasant had installed because apparently it was laid too shallow of a depth - it was laid at 2 inches depth and the aerator went down 3 inches. I reached out to Kelly who stated they would fix it this time but any additional work would be "billed at $125/hr plus parts with a one hour minimum and that the irrigation lines are all installed properly of which is at a depth at or below the frost depth line in our area." ... when I replied that wasn't the case and if Kelly would like to come out in-person I'd gladly show that they didn't place it deep enough I didn't hear back... today the tech Mike came out unannounced and I said they didn't let me know they were coming to which he replied he would have found the issue and I said probably but I like to be home when things are done with my property... he then fixed the pipe that had the hole. When I asked him what depth the frost line was he stated that he could not answer that question. And anything I had to say needed to go through the company as I am not a customer anymore, to which I replied, you cannot tell me what depth the frost level is? He said he had nothing else to say to me... I then said if his company had done the work correctly, I would have still been with them but unfortunately that wasn't the case... I'm glad they fixed the pipe mistake however my drip lines they installed aren't operational and looks like that is the case from day one... so I have a new company coming out to service the system correctly. Extremely disappointed in my lack of diligence with this company. My neighbor used them. They worked hard and appeared to be a local business. However, I should have solicited feedback from the neighbor before calling to schedule with them on my own. I've phoned, emailed, texted, and left messages no fewer than 10xs to at least four different people over the last several weeks. I continue to receive conflicting information. That's if anyone bothers to return a call or email at all. I've been charged for work that has not (nor will it ever be) competed. I've contacted my credit card company and have disputed the charges, since attempting to continue working with them appears not only futile but untenable. I've been in business a long time and blame myself for not reading these (very similar) reviews or vetting this outfit more thoroughly in advance. Buyer beware. This company provided unimaginably bad service/performance. After waiting several months for them to obtain plants-while watching many of my neighbors get the same plants planted- Pleasant Landscapes planted different plants than those identified in the contract. Despite several attempts to get this corrected we have been unsuccessful in getting the plants we paid for planted. Communication with these people is next to impossible but the last communication we had said that since the plants we had were not unhealthy they could not replace them totally disregarding that the "healthy" plants were never asked for or agreed upon. I know that poor service has become the norm in this post pandemic world, but this company sinks to new depths. They absolutely don't care about anything but taking your money. Don't believe anything Macon tells you. Even if he believes what he is saying, he has absolutely no power to follow through on his promises. read more

This company is all positive promising a great outcome but not delivering. Several plants never came and the ones I have are struggling despite watering by me. The office is inflexible to adjust the bill for items not delivered and took weeks to send updated bill adding late charges. We have had Pleasant Landscapes do our lawn work at 2 different homes (for over 9 years now) as well as a couple of rental homes that we own. I have always found them to be very responsive. Pablo has a great deal of in depth knowledge when it comes to design and care of plants, and Michael has always been excellent when it comes to irrigation and lighting. Whenever any issues arose, he worked hard to find and implement the correct solution. Over the years, I have had other companies in for pricing, and have found that Pleasant Landscapes is still very competitive. Most of all, when we needed them "in a crunch", they have always been there for us. I would highly recommend Pleasant Landscapes. read more

Had them for 1 year. They were habitually late (example: Showing up April 30 to do April 13 work order). When time for annual assessment and follow up, they cancelled me twice and then they never called to reschedule. I offered to do it over the phone as I had 4 main areas of concern and correction for them. They never called. I cancelled and moved to another service, but the Pleasant Landscapes crew still came! I had to explain to the crew IN SPANISH (as they spoke no english) that I was no longer a customer. I still have received no follow-up or customer service on this contract, so consider me a vocal voice in my community to NOT USE PLEASANT LANDSCAPES. read more

Just FYI We just had landscaping done by Pleasant Landscapes and after creating a problem with our soaker hoses, they want to charge me $125/ hour to repair it! We contracted them to remove old mulch, replant bushes and shrubs, and remulch for $800.00. Now, when the irrigation system is turned on the soaker hoses shoot water 5 feet into the air! I did not request any changes or replacement of the existing hoses. Kelly, the Vice President, accused me of trying to get something for free because I don't think I should have to pay to repair something they broke! Then she told me that we should find another landscape company! Ya think? So now Im stuck with the bill for fixing this mess. read more

Horrible service, no follow up or follow through, and actually installed dead plant material. We recently moved to the area and were looking for a landscaping company to manage our lawn and install plant material. Since Pleasant Landscapes came recommended, we didn't seek out any other bids. Our problems immediately started when the landscapers delivered and installed dead plant material along with other plant material full of weeds. It took repeated attempts to bring the crew back and exchange out to shrubs. The angst continued with bad edging, scalping of our lawn, severing our irrigation system, and destroying our sprinkler head. The so-called customer service representative, Betsy was so rude, condescending, and abusive in her tone and demeanor, we finally had all we could take. So we canceled our contract. One last item....they never refunded,repaired, or compensated us for the all of the bad plant material, scalped lawn, severed irrigation or destroyed sprinkler head. So, if you want to spend TOP DOLLAR (found out they were far more expensive than the others we sought bids on after firing them), receive horrible and abusive customer service, want to be taken advantage of, and treated with disrespect, then this is the lawn care service for you. Otherwise, drop Pleasant Landscape as fast as you can and go to Simply Green! Pleasant Landscape is by no means pleasant. Simply Green is Simply Awesome. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to write this to give you a "heads up" before you engage this company for your lawn maintenance. If I treated my patients like the manager of this company's West Ashley division has treated me, I would have no patients. When I started with Pleasant Landscapes about two years ago, I knew that this company was somewhat pricey, but I thought I was going to receive good service. I now have spent over $12,000 since I started with this company for lawn maintenance, landscaping, and irrigation work. You would think that this should qualify me as a good customer of Pleasant Landscapes. However, starting at the top, customer service is not their strong suit. The woman who runs the West Ashley division of this company is very difficult to work with. I documented my conversations with her when she has been condescending, unhelpful, and unfriendly. I asked to speak to her superior, but she ignored my request. Another problem has been the inconsistent lawn crew who has taken care of my lawn maintenance. Over the last 2 years, the two people who have maintained my lawn every-other-week have changed frequently. The problem has been that each new crew did not know exactly what they were supposed to do. It has been a never-ending effort for me to instruct them what to do every time a new crew came to my home. At times, the new crew could not speak English, and it was impossible for me to communicate with them. There are other issues that never should have occurred. But, the last straw came just a few weeks ago. I requested an estimate from Pleasant Landscapes to lay pine straw in my beds around my property. I also checked out two other landscape companies for the same job. One quote was for $350 installed; the other quote was for $420 installed. The quote from Pleasant Landscapes was $1,305 for the exact same job! That was a slap in the face. How could I ever do business again with a company that exploited me? Be forewarned. read more

I never write reviews, but I feel so strongly about Pleasant Landscapes, that I feel compelled to warn people. I have used the company for Lawn/landscape maintenance for the past year. I live on the Isle of Palms. First, they make you purchase fertilizer/insecticide treatments for your lawn. They apply these once or twice a month, and they double the cost of the service. Not only that, they don't work at all. I wonder if they are just spraying water and charging $75 for it.? My lawn was full of weeds in the spring. When I called, they made up an excuse- it had been too warm of a winter, or something to that effect. Second, my lawn was completely brown a few weeks ago- we have had plenty of rain, and I have an irrigation system. A neighbor told me I have a fungus- shouldn't the chemical treatments taken care of this? And why didn't Pleasant Landscapes do something about it? When I called, they tried to blame me by suggesting I wasn't watering the lawn enough. There are many lawn care companies in the area- do not choose this one. read more

Worst landscape company I have ever worked with. Very unprofessional. I hired them 7 months ago, October 2017, to install landscaping at a secondary home of mine and the job was never completed. I regretfully paid them in full in October 2017, over the phone, after they called to tell me the job was finished. I have called and emailed repeatedly and the supervisor/manager has yet to respond or contact me. I asked for a refund, via phone and email, for the landscape materials that were never installed, and I have yet to recieve a response. Supervisor/manager refuses to call or email me back. I DO NOT recommend Pleasant Landscaping. My experience with Pleasant Landscapes (Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant, SC) was less than satisfactory. Specifically, they did not complete the sodding job in my back yard. Their estimate of 700 sq ft. did not complete the dimensions clearly agreed upon with their sales rep, Chris. When I brought this to their attention, Chris arranged to put in more on one side of the yard from sod left over from another job. This still did not complete the job. When I insisted that they complete the agreed-upon work, their office rep said basically too bad; we did our 700 sq. feet. They were not concerned that it didn't complete the job agreed upon, or that I was not happy with it. They also did other landscaping and irrigation work for me which I was happy with, but I just can't find it in myself to write a glowing review, Therefore, as far as I am concerned, they acted dishonestly and unethically. I'm glad they weren't building a back deck for me; I guess I would end up with gaping holes in it if their materials estimate fell short. Thankfully, I have moved and at least don't have to look at my partially sodded yard anymore. Regarding the staff--the sales person, Chris, was courteous and professional and I think wanted to do the right thing; up to the point he would no longer take my calls. This landscaping company is dishonest and will take your money and not deliver plants or even cut your grass when you have paid for these services. I spent over an hour with their sales rep in October 2018 on my property and was quoted a price for mulch, clean up to include 3 pampas bushes, removal of 4 trees, beds and garden clean up and treeline trimmed. I also signed a contract for biweekly maintenance in the growing months and every three weeks in the winter. After I paid for the mulch and clean up they tried to complete both mulching and cleanup in one day and realized they needed more labor and tried to come back and charge me for additional time because they couldn't complete the job in their "allocated time" They tried to come back and charge me additional money for more time on the job. They only removed two out of the four trees and also tried to make me pay for a lift to remove the palm tree they had already quoted me a price on. I never received my pampas grass and when I called and spoke to Kelly Slater, the supervisor she accused me of lying and said the grass was delivered and installed. She told me the grass was dead. They refused to refund my money so I paid $150 for 3 pampas grass that was never delivered or installed. They charged me $1500 to do an initial clean up and didn't do half of the things they agreed to do. Also they came to do maintenance twice this winter and charged me for grass cutting and my grass was never cut, my driveway was never sprayed and my beds were not edged. When I called to ask to meet with the supervisor to show them what needed to be done in the future I was told I needed to pay for more time since they are only allocated 60 minutes on my 3 acre property, even though my contract stated I am paying for maintenance services every two to three weeks. I also paid for lawn winter weed control and I still have tons of weeds in my yard. This company steals your money and does not render services or product. Being from Awendaw, I thought I would support a local business however, this company is dishonest and does not care at all about their customers. I am appalled at how dishonest they are while quoting you one thing and then try to charge you more money once on the job, GO ELSEWHERE. read more

No stars for this company had them come to clean up yard here is what is written on the contract half day front and side yards, trim shrubs, remove saplings and small trees, define and spray beds(for weeds), uplift tree limbs 15-20 feet ( one tree) and leaf removal. For a cost of 500$. Well they arrived 2 hours late leaves were so called cleaned up by using a blower which is fine except the guy kept blowing the leaves back to places he had already blown, talk about waste of time and effort. The saplings were not removed just cut down with a limb saw they borrowed from me. They didn't even bring correct equipment for the job so the tree limbs are still on the tree and the garden beds were not sprayed. I had an appointment at 5 pm and left the following day my neighbor informed me the 2 guys packed up and left shortly after I did. Called the company and got well they worked the hours alloyed that day. What did they do for the 2 hours of lost time I paid for. Yes the crew was coming back to finish. Well that was back in January here we are in April and still no return of crew or phone calls. Oh they charge 125$ an hour. This is not a mom & pop outfit they have 6 offices plus a nursery. Give me a guy with a truck and trailer and the proper equipment any day I had to put one star otherwise I couldn't post so ignore it read more

This is a horrible company. I own a commercial construction firm, so I am familiar with landscaping contractors and other subcontractors. I will say Pleasants Landscape is one of the worse I have ever seen. I hired them to do a significant amount of renovations on a personal home I own off the coast of Charleston. Their on-site management was clueless and had no authority. They were habitually late with their work, and never met a schedule commitment. They never completed their full scope of work, even after I complained. The maintenance crew was also poor, did the bare minimum of work and what they did was sloppy at best. But here's the worst part. I made numerous attempts to reach their "Vice President" Kelly Slater, to discuss my concerns and seek resolution, yet she never responded. Whether it was a warranty issue, a performance issue or a quality issue, I could never get a response from her. Another disturbing aspect of this company is nowhere can you find the name of company's owner. Only after significant digging on search engines did I ever find a name, and I am still not sure if this person is the owner or not. Anyone in the construction industry will tell you that if you can't find the owner of a company, then that person is probably hiding from something. I finally fired them, and I regret I ever worked with them. Please, stay away from Pleasants Landscape, and hopefully we will see dishonest and irresponsible shadow companies such as this disappear. read more
