It's a large, fenced in park with wood chips on the ground, and trees all around creating lots of shade, even on hot days. Pups have so much space to run free and sniff and play and check their pee-mail. Sensory and exercise heaven! There's a path around the inside of the park that is now paved, so a great little walking loop for the humans, if you want to get some movement in too. The new shade structure is large with tables and chairs. There are a few water spouts/fountains, and at least 3 poop bag dispensers and garbage cans. Be a good citizen and keep the park clean - scoop the poop! Our pups absolutely love this park - such a great place to socialize with other dogs. It's really helped our younger pup who is sometimes reactive when on leash. She's so much calmer and more confident off-leash. Our pups enthusiastically jump out of the car upon arrival, and leave the park tired and content! Happy dogs, happy humans!

Although there weren't other dogs that day, Midnight still had a lot of fun running unleashed, back and forth to mommy and daddy! I loved looking at the bright orange poppies and other flowers as we explored, as well as the nice bridge in the distance! I would recommend visiting this regional park and we'll be returning to explore more! Needs improvement: Existing fence is a bit short for larger dogs or pups with hops. One of the entrances isn't a double door system, so pups might get out. Despite the sign, there was lots of dog poop left by previous visitors - can tell the locals don't care for their park. Benches too close to the fence, easy for untrained pup to escape. Needs more grass and some weeding. Too small for long sprint fetch. Semi sketchy neighborhood. Kiosk signs need to be updated. Needs permanent garbage cans, oddly had residential style ones.

We were driving from Humboldt county to Monterey and stopped there so Kix could stretch her legs and pee. She had been super healthy and happy all week. After stopping here she seemed weak and disoriented. Had trouble walking. Started vomiting, peeing herself and refused to eat but kept trying to drink water. As we drove her to a 24 hr vet she died. There were a lot of homeless around. The vet said she was either poisoned or ate some drugs left on the ground. Stay away!

We frequented this dog park when we were vacationing in the Clearlake area this summer. It looked…read morequite different from the photos that were previously on yelp but I guess the area gets quite dry in the warm season. On our first visit, there was a group of adorable small dogs there and we were excited to have them to play with our girl. Unfortunately as we exited out vehicle, three of them rushed up to the fence and actually pushed under and got out. I was really worried as the entrance is on the corner of two streets with vehicle traffic but the owner did not seem to care. I was able to get all the dogs back inside the park by bringing my girl in...they were all boys so they happily followed. If you use this park, please beware that the dogs are able to get out under the chain length fence in they push hard enough. The park was really dry but there was some shade and toys to play on. They also had potty bags available at one of the stations on a further end of the park. I did not see any of the other dog owners pick up after their dogs which was discouraging but there isn't much else in the area so this did fine. If you watch where you step and are careful not to let your dog escape through the fence, you should be ok.

We decided to hike up the more intense trail and it was so worth it. There were quite a few others hiking as well and most people seem to respect it. Picking up their trash and making sure to leave it as it was before setting up their picnic spot. Net time I'm going to make sure to bring my on picnic. This time I only brought snacks and water to sustain me while hiking. I'm so blessed to live in an area that provides this wonderful piece of Mother Nature.
