While visiting a friends while back, she had a 'Torta Cubana' sandwich from them that looked amazing. Skipping breakfast this morning, today was the perfect day to try this beast. If your familiar with 'garbage plate', little of this, little of that, type specialty meals, this is similar, but piled high on a sandwich roll. It starts a a Cuban sandwich, with ham for pork, cheese, pickles. Then has another cheese, breaded chicken cutlet, tomatoes, jalepeno peppers, omlet style fried egg, chorizo slices added on. Yuup! It works awesome, highly recommended! It is so big though, I have the other half for lunch. Enjoy.

I shop here often for my fresh herbs, caribbean cheese and crackers. Two days ago I craved African food and needed 1 more ingredient to make it... the main ingredient PALM OIL. Given that I've never looked for palm oil here before I didn't think they had it but when I asked Google for the closest African supermarket and they said this place I reluctantly went and was pleasantly surprised to find it here. So in addition to the Asian, American and Caribbean foods you can also find African palm oil too. Cons: I feel they over charge at times. One of my favorite things about K&Y is that they have lots of produce (especially Asian ones) that you can't find at TJoe's: for example, gailan (Chinese broccoli), baby bok choy, whole artichokes, broccoli rabe, butternut squash, Thai basil, serrano peppers, just to name a few. In addition to produce, they have lots Asian goods that you can pick up without going to Chinatown such as sesame oil, curries, rice noodles, etc etc. This is a family owned place that also runs Atlantic Fruit & Vegetable.
