My friend has one of those infectious laughs and I could hear him a lot during this production. One of my favorite songs from my youth was 'Day by Day' and this version did not disappoint. Caitlin Gabrielle's voice was perfect for this song and the her dance movements with Lavonte Rogers enhanced the spirit of the song. This theater is in downtown Leesburg not far from the Venetian Gardens park. They have a parking lot and parking garage adjacent to the theater. The building is a vintage theater with clean and modern restrooms. There was a brief intermission and volunteers sell candy, wine and beverages in the lobby along with 50/50 tickets. On this occasion they donated the profits to a local charity. We had a really great time and the interaction we had with the players at intermission and after the show was the cherry on top.

One of the plays they put on wasn't to my liking, but it had won Tony awards and the performances were excellent. Like most theaters, they do a combination of newer and classic plays. They have a program for kids also. There is usually an intermission where they serve a limited selection of drinks and snacks. The theater is worth supporting, and once I am past some medical issues I plan to become a subscribing member.

This building was the original State theatre and was renovated a couple times. The building itself is very clean and they've done a great job with cleanliness and upkeep, I applaud management for that! I even enjoyed their bathroom! Their service was very friendly and their staff just charming! I loved how the lights would blink just before the show begins before and right after intermission. We arrived to attend The Memphis Musical performance to support a friend and it was amazing! We plan to attend again and again. I love coming out of the norm to support the arts instead of just watching another movie. Their website just made everything so simple. We were able to easily select our seats and pay for them online. The box office holds your tickets near the front door with your last name as the reservation. Loved that! The show was sold out but we were able to purchase front row seats a few days earlier! Just visit: www.baystreetplayers.org. A perfect evening for a great date night or viewing with friends. We arrived 2 minutes late for a sold-out show and parking was a bit problematic. I recommend arriving early! BUDDY HOLLY STORY My husband wanted to see this. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to it. But it was a very good show. The acting performances were much better than I've seen in other theater companies (coughmadcowcough) and the music was a joy to watch. I sat next to an older gentleman who lived during the time period of this show and he very much enjoyed it, saying he wanted to see it again. QUALITY COMPARED TO OTHER LOCAL THEATERS This is the top reason I recommend you make the drive out here. I've been to a few different theaters around the Orlando area and I thought this theater was significantly better. The environment is much more spacious and comfortable, the acting and performance was much more engaging and convincing, and they seem to have either more talented people or more resources to pull off a much better stage and set design, costumes etc. I get the impression these people are professionals.

The theatre itself is small but the stage is decently sized and every seat in the house has a pretty darn good view which is awesome! The production itself was well thought out with attention to detail in the sets, costume design, and the choice of actors. The theater itself is decorated in a western style, as the name indicates. The seating itself was nothing special. I wouldn't say that it is anything remarkable or special but it is in a great location to have a lunch/dinner and a movie date.

We lowered our expectations for the evening. The room was very noisy and crowded with lots of stark white flat surfaces so it was hard to hear the actors and nearly impossible for dinner conversation. The plot of the murder mystery experience was a little chaotic but some of the actors were good in their roles. The guests with the greatest quantity of empty wine bottles on their tables seemed to have the best time. Also the frequent Biden-bashing got big laughs from same. We did initially ask about the anti Biden "joke" in the program. They told us that they would also tell anti trump jokes. This was not the case. It was a loud, offensive evening and I was happy when it was over. 3 stars because the food portions were large.

On the outside it doesn't look like a theater…read moreat all, I was skeptical on the location when I looked it up, I thought it was someone's house. But upon arrival, I was surprised on what was inside the building! Parking isn't bad, it's either asphalt or grass, but plenty of space when you walk in, you can see the history of the building by the low ceilings and how some of the walkways are. You can either purchase tickets online, or in person, I recommend purchasing them online so you can select your seat in advance. There is a concession stand with various candies for a $1, and I'm talking the regular candy that you see at the store while waiting in line at Publix, such as full size Reese's, M&M's, Hershey's, Famous Amos cookies, sodas, waters, and Milano cookies for 50¢! The theater itself is small but intimate, and I feel as though you'll get a great view of the stage no matter where you sit. My wife and I enjoyed the performance, and the sounds quality was great. I may look forward to coming to some shows at the shoestring theater, however the drive was a bit of a mission, so make sure you have your phone battery charged for your GPS to find the place!
