This place is a joke! I have a legally registered support animal which mind you has been in there numerous time without objection by anyone until this rude employee who claimed to be the daughter of the owner refused me service, even though I was just getting carry out! I take my support animal with me everywhere as I am legally permitted to do! They will for sure never have my business again. I ordered Door Dash, food came and I was missing the chips, we had about $20 dollars worth of dips along with our entrees so I called the restaurant to let them know that our order was wrong, I told them I was t asking for anything just mad because it was a lot of dips that was going to to go to waste. Lady on the phone told me Door Dash forbid them from sending chips out unless I specifically asked, I told her why would I need to specifically ask for them when I bought several dips, what did they thing I was going to do with them??? The food was good... don't get me wrong. But it seemed understaffed because of how long it took for us to get our orders taken and our food to us. I only ate half my food because I filled up on chips... because it was taking so long!! I do applaud them for doing their best to deal with the large party I was in, but the waiter we had did not speak very good English and sadly not many of us could understand. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME... Server was rude af. We were interrupting there soccer game. Margarita tasted soapy! Taco salad had a river of oil and water on the plate in less than 5 minutes at the table. My wife was disgusted I tasted the meat just for GP... literally tasteless like nothing but oil. "Barf". Texas fajitas??? Laughable at very best dry skimpy I guess beef chicken was ehhh, shrimp, rubber and tiny! $124.00 for trash 1st time in my life I didn't even leave a tip... Take out Fajitas for 2 and Burrito Grande. The portions here, dine in or to go, are usually generous. Food typically is well seasoned. I would avoid the guacamole dip on to go orders. Went for dinner with my sister the other night. We have been here multiple times and let me say the food is always consistent- hence 4 stars and 5 other times. However, we have noticed a server issue the last few times we have been. This most recent time, it took over 10 minutes to have someone come and take our drink order. We had multiple servers and employees walk by and interact and finally after making awkward eye contact another server got ours. We ordered everything at once- cheese dip, 2 pollo Guadalajara, and 2 margaritas on the rocks with salt. The food was absolutely delicious like always, however the margaritas were so bad we both left basically full margaritas when we left (server never asked or anything because she really never came back) We paid the check and not only were the bad margaritas on the check (we didn't complain so expected to pay) but they were also full price even though we had been there for happy hour (half the price) We paid the check and didn't want to ruffle feathers especially since our food was delicious and left but please work on customer service and make margs taste like margs not way too sweet sugar mix read more

Loved this restaurant! Lots of menu items for people of all dining preferences (vegetarian, vegan, chicken only, carnivores). Large portion sizes, decently priced. Wish they didn't charge for an extra basket of chips but At least they provide the yummy white cream based salsa along with the classic one. Love love love this restaurant. The prices are so affordable especially considering portion sizes. A lot of entrees are big enough to be split by two people. My mom and I really enjoy the lunch and dinner specials. We still can't get over just how good it is here, our favorite thing is probably the white sauce they bring out with the chips/ salsa. The closest you'll find to authentic Mexican food in the Ocean City area. Having tried both Taco Junction and Tequila Mockingbird with mediocre results, I found Plaza Tapatia and was pleasantly surprised. First off the server was great. Really made me feel like my business was truly appreciated. Restaurant was fairly clean and the prices were very reasonable. I had the beef tip enchiladas with a side of guacamole, everything was delicious. Called to place a pick up order, person taking order has the attitude of I have better things to do, I figured we all have bad days so I placed my order anyway. My wife went to pick up my order, had several people push ahead of her. When the waitress went to cash her out she wouldn't accept her cash saying I only have a dollar from tops I can't take this. Avoid this place at all cost just got takeout fajitas for 2 which the menu says is $23 and nachos with quezon cheese $7.95. When she picked up the food they charged her $56.24. Charged for cheese and scour cream that's included in menu price. Poor service and a decline in the quality of food. I considered giving this review a one star, but I've been coming here for so many years that I just couldn't do it. I'm not sure what has happened to this restaurant. The only thing that seemed to be on point was the salsa - everything else was poor at best. For starters, it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was not busy, possibly due to the heavy rain storms. It took about 15 minutes for our waitress to arrive at our table. She arrived with chips and salsa and took our drink order and appetizer order. Twenty minutes later, we still had no water or drinks and we had to track our waitress down and reminded her of our order. The margarita was not like the ones I've had in the past...almost like they used a different recipe. My family always orders fajitas. When our fajitas finally arrived, everything was over cooked, like it had been sitting in a warming tray all day. The shrimp were dead and the chicken and steak were dry. Once we asked for our check, we waited about twenty minutes before we had to send someone to the bar area to find out waitress (who was chatting with other employees) and remind her that we had asked for our check. 5/5!!! Plaza Tapatia in ocean pines is the BEST place to go. Not only is there food culturally accurate, but it is delicious! The atmosphere is always pleasant. I truly feel like i'm on vacation when I go there. Their beverages are amazing. If you like piña coladas, I highly recommend theirs! My favorite dish is the Quesadilla Tapatia. Their white sauce served with their chips is also to die for. The food is so savory. If you have room, due to their large portions, for dessert they have the best fried ice cream. Delicious food and very good service- Kathy was awesome! I had the Quesadilla Tapatia, which contained very tender, flavorful beef that was kind of shredded, with cheese. It came with rice, beans, a little salad, sour cream and guacamole on the side. It was excellent! My husband enjoyed his chicken quesadilla, and my son had a mixed enchilada plate with 4 different kinds, and he loved it. My daughter had a beef chimichanga and she said it was delicious too. The sangria was just okay. Next time I'll try the margarita instead. They have a good Mexican beer on tap too. Overall, A+ food, didn't have to wait long for food or drinks, portions were generous, and we didn't have to wait to be seated (on a weekday). We will definitely go back! read more
