This was an unplanned stop as we only noticed it on the way to the Sagrada.
The bullring is no longer in use for bullfights (which started here in 1914), but is regularly used for concerts and other public events. From the top level seating, you have a pretty stunning view over the whole arena, and can also look through the tiny windows out into the real world.
There is a nice wee museum with various bullfighting artifacts - my favourite exhibit was all the advertising posters. Oh, and the creepy matador uniforms (the mannequins are the wierdest things ever - like something direct from Thunderbirds!).
Rumour has it, there's a 2.5billion deal kicking about to turn this into a shopping mall. Jeez! But it'll be interesting to see how they do it. read more
