We decided to try Playa Bowls today because we received a buy one get one coupon. The staff was friendly and welcoming! The bowls had fresh ingredients and were large portions. They also have an extensive menu to choose from, so I would recommend looking at the menu ahead of time before going in to order. I live in Rehoboth and have for the past 4 years and have repeatedly been into playa bowls to order while also ordering online. While I understand that it gets busy as the summer season is beginning, I ordered online and waited for over an hour to get my two bowls. I was told when I first walked in that they were being made and continued to wait until it seemed like they were almost given away to someone else. To start off positive, the mango bowls were delicious and refreshing. On the contrary, the açaí bowls tasted so badly. As soon as I tried a bite, the smoky flavor of BARBECUE filled my mouth. I purchased an açaí bowl there the other day and it was not good at all. They were measuring the amount put in the bowl on a scale and was still under filled. I absolutely love this place! Fresh and delicious! Now as for the service not the greatest, I was over charged and when I tried to explain that to the cashier it seemed as if I was speaking another language. The second day I went there I had a modification to my dragon fruit bowel and the cashier typed it in wrong so explained it to the girl making it who also didn't understand one simple addition (coconut flakes) so I had to explain it to her as well. Well needless to say as she was making it she made a snarky comment about an item that wasn't even in that particular bowel (which is an error by the cashier) although her comment was directed toward me as if I punched the order in wrong. It took me forever to finish it, which is a good thing considering how delicious it was! I got the pura vida açaí bowl, which came with blueberries, strawberries, granola, and honey on top of an açaí base. Delicious! Something really interesting and cool about this place is the different bases they have. You can choose between açaí, pitaya, coconut base, chia, oatmeal, or banana! The banana base sounded awesome, (a mix of banana, almond milk, and honey). I've never heard of a bowl spot having so many options. Worst açaí bowl I've had so far! I ordered the Pura Vida and substituted the blueberries for mangos. The açaí purée was watery and way too sweet, there was barely any granola on top of it and the fresh fruit was sour. Also, the customer service at this location was terrible.The girl who gave me my order proceeded to say my order name instead of attempting to say my actual name but clearly said the name of the girl whose order came after mine.
