Nica bowl - 9/10 - $12.49 - My favorite of the three. I really liked the banana blend, and the cacao nibs/walnuts added a crunch Mango berry - 8.5/10 - $12.49 - Mango base tasted like a mango smoothie, very refreshing i would add more toppings on this one Playa passion bowl - 8/10 - More on the tart rather than sweet side. I really liked the coconut cream on top. Tropical twist smoothie - 7/10 - Very tropical/tart which is great for the summer but very sweet for me Mermaid fuel juice - 8/10 - $6.99 - Refreshing and clean but very sweet Summer vacay protein bite - 6.5/10 - Tasted like an oatmeal ball, really sweet/chocolatey Playa Bowls has opened a new location in the north side with the largest menu ive seen at a bowls spot. They have so many base options (you can combine 2 bases) but i do think the bases were on the sweeter side compared to other bowls ive had. I personally prefer Mamaka or Jus Bowl for acai bowls in the Houston area but this place also had pretty good bowls.

This place has a lot of promise, but was ultimately disappointing. First of all, this place is vey cute inside. It is new so everything is clean and well-kept and makes for a lovely dining environment. The woman working the cash register was friendly and offered any explanations needed to select the perfect bowl. As for the bowls themselves, they were rather disappointing. The bowls were very average: The base arrived half-melted (meaning not fully blended frozen) and although the toppings were nice, they did not make up for the $14 price tag. Ultimately, I think this place is still new and figuring stuff out, so I will be back to try more bowls and update my review.

Love the fact that they have a drive-thru but sometimes they can't hear you or it's wayyy too loud. Service is usually quick but if you're ordering a lot of drinks, stay patient. Just wish there wasn't so much traffic coming to this location because I would go more often.

Came to this spot from The Woodlands to order Boba Tea to find out they didn't have any Boba. Ok…read morefine! We ordered drinks with substitute instead. Liz took our order but had made my drink wrong. She put Crystal Boba in it when I had ordered Lychee Jelly and put Lychee Jelly in my son's drink instead. My son decided to keep his drink but I wanted mine re-made since I wanted what I ordered. Liz seemed annoyed and instead of asking to remake the drink she said she can refund the drink. Rolled her eyes ... Ok! I drove all the way to this spot to get a drink not to get a refund. She never suggested to remake my drink!! So, I asked for her to remake the drink correctly. As I go try to go drink the new drink, I saw a small brown hair on my ice cube inside. I was horrified! I took photos and called her and asked for her name. She was talking smart on the phone and asked if the hair was brown or blue ... wtf? Why does it matter what color ... obviously you did something to my drink!! She was being passive aggressive and rude with me saying I can write a bad review if I want and her name was Liz. I asked for her manager's name who is Taylor by the way. I also requested for a full refund of my drink so hopefully I get that which I will be checking. This is just absolutely crazy! Just because you get the order wrong and having a bad day you shouldn't just again mess up on another drink to be spiteful. Never will I stop by this Boba tea spot again. If I could rate zero stars I would. Very disappointing!!

You will not be able to find a piece of lint on the floor. Also very friendly and shared a ton of interesting stories! I remembered maybe 10ish years ago acai bowls were in trend. Then it faded? I never tried it while it was in trend because I was a college student and it was one of those moments where you decide to spend $12 on a protein/carb/veggie meal or on an acai bowl that will hopefully keep you full until your next meal. Fast forward and I'm still not in my career yet lol. Making residency salary and having this is moreso as a treat. It's sort of a healthier way to look at dessert? Thicker than a smoothie. Not sweet like Gelato. Can alter it to have higher protein or sweetier depending on what you choose. There are a lot of options and fiber rich. The presentation is pretty. I do think you have to be in the mood for this. My friend loves acai bowls. Me? It's not something I would crave but I'll be down to have it again if my friend wanted it.

Why 5 stars? Because I'm so glad I came here…read more --- --- --- 6-7 years ago, Acai bowls really had their day. There were shops popping up on every corner, and while I always loved acai bowls, they were pretty much the same no matter where you went. And after leaning pretty hard into this trend for a while, I reached acai over-saturation. Fast forward to recent times and I was excited to check out Nautical Bowls when it opened. The menu looked pretty unique, and it had been quite a while since my last bowl. Each weekend would come and go and I would still manage to not stop in. Today, I was sitting on the couch about to doze off. I had two choices: give into the nap Gods, and probably set myself up for a poor night of sleep ahead, or get up and finally make that trip to Nautical Bowls. I chose the latter, and as I mentioned above, I'm so glad I did. I walked in and stared at the menu for an awkwardly long time. Each item looked appealing and it seemed like they were all only 1-2 ingredients different from the last. I considered even building my own, but that thought was fleeting. Let's just roll with one of the chosen items. There's always a future visit where we can get crazy with something custom. So I went with the Blue Bay Bowl: Blue Majik, Açaí, Coconut, Spirulina Chia, Granola, Banana, Strawberries, Coconut Butter Crumbles. I asked what Blue Majik and Spirulina were: I was told both had a coconut cream flavor. I was also told Spirulina was an algae. That almost swayed me away, but I didn't want to be a basic b. Algae, you say? I aint scared. It turns out, this bowl met every single aspect of the fantasy I had in my head when I was debating between taking a nap and coming here. It was amazing. Every bite. It definitely was not your grandmother's acai bowl, either. There was a lot going on and I loved every aspect of it. And as promised, there was no shortage of coconut cream. I will absolutely be back because I want to try pretty much everything on the menu. Welcome to the 'hood, Nautical Bowls!
